Your winter experience begins at Boundary Ranch, where you'll check in before making your way to the sleigh or wagon for your ride. Once aboard, settle into the comfortable vinyl padded seats with wooden backs and enjoy the peaceful journey through the winter landscape. Snuggle up under the mountain skies, take in the snow covered forests and enjoy the spectacular Canadian Rockies surrounding the ranch. Along the way, your ride will stop at our Buffalo Viewing Paddock. This is a great opportunity to take photos. A complimentary warm drink is included with your experience. Choose from hot chocolate, mocha or coffee. During the winter season, Boundary Ranch is decorated for Christmas, and our outdoor fire provides a cozy place to warm up. For an additional treat, marshmallows and s'mores are available for purchase. Adults can also upgrade their beverage with an alcoholic addition. The sleigh ride itself is approximately 30–45 minutes. Depending on snow and trail conditions, a horse drawn wagon may be used in place of the sleigh. Please dress warmly for the weather. Small lap blankets are provided for extra comfort, and guests are welcome to bring their own blanket as well.
Weather was nice , the sun was out, the mountains were spectacular. The hot chocolate at the end was delicious touch . The scenery was beautiful and the guide was great! Sid was awesome !
We had a great experience at Boundary Ranch. It was a great way to ring in the new year and the kids loved it. Our "guide" was informative ad made it an enjoyable ride through the forest.
The experience is amazing! The view is incredible! The place is beautiful, all Christmas decorations was great. The fire was on inside and outside. The ride was really nice and the staff very friendly
The winter sleigh ride in Kananaskis was a lovely experience with beautiful mountain views and very friendly staff. While I enjoyed the trip, I think a few small changes could make it even better. For example, adding a creative theme to the ride would make it feel more special, and a longer or more interesting route would allow guests to see more of the scenery. It is a great activity that could be truly perfect with just a little more focus on the trail and the group size.
The Boundary Ranch sleigh ride is a Christmas Eve tradition for my family. We absolutely love it and the staff are so great. The young woman who guided us has guided us the past few years and she is lovely. The ride is beautiful and stunning. I highly recommend this!
Wonderful trip through winter wonderland. Snow covered trees, surrounded by high mountains. Very friendly staff. Take your blankets. Enjoy the hot chocolate at the end of the trip!

This was our first time at Boundary Ranch and it was really good. We were treated well and had a fantastic 40 minute sleigh ride. Our guide was also great. We got free hot chocolate after our ride as well. This facility is clean & comfortable. We will be bringing our granddaughter here for sure in July.
I visited Boundary Ranch today for what was advertised as a 45 minute sleigh ride into the lower valley. Instead, we were on the sleigh for about 30 minutes total and simply did a loop around the ranch. It felt more like a brief tour of their property instead of the scenic valley tour we were expecting. For the price, the experience felt extremely short and underwhelming. Despite it being Christmas time, there was no Christmas theme at all- no decorations, no music, nothing festive. I even had to plug in the Christmas tree lights myself. After the ride they handed us a package with graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate (which we paid extra for) for s’mores, but the fire outside was barely going, and benches were not cleared of snow. As well as no instructions on how to make s’mores. The atmosphere was not welcoming, and the receptionist was quite unfriendly. Overall, it felt like they were waiting for us to leave. I would not recommend this experience. It wasn’t worth the money and did not deliver the winter outing as advertised.
Despite there not being enough snow for the sleigh when we visited, we had a great time riding the wagon towed by "Zeus" and "Thor." The scenery is beautiful and all the staff here are friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed some excellent hot chocolate and mocha while making s'mores around the fire.
We had visitors from Australia this Christmas and planned different Canadian activities for them during this holidays. This was a highlight for them and for me! They loved it and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Having a winter Christmas was a new experience for them and I loved taking them on this special ride. The staff was so helpful and made the experience so memorable. Highly recommend it!
The staff is very friendly. The explanations are well done and the setting is nice. Hot drink welcome at the end of the walk.
Winter sled ride with unforgettable family! -18 but lots of snow and blue skies. Nadine, our guide was very friendly. We ended our 45-minute walk with a hot drink for everyone. Great souvenir of Christmas time 🤶
