Fairmont Hotel Macdonald

Enjoyed a wedding yesterday. It was extremely busy, there were three weddings held on the same day. There were lots of renovations the day of which weren’t there prior. The service during dinner and the day overall was spectacular. I wanted to say that everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful, but specially highlighting Chelsea who was attentive, friendly and detailed orientated. She kept our glasses full, and was very accommodating to our table throughout the night, making it more memorable than it already was.

It goes without saying that when you go to the Fairmont you can expect a certain level of excellence. I got married this past weekend (Sept 26, 2026) having an outdoor ceremony in the gardens and reception inside the Jasper room. I can easily say it was the best service I’ve ever had in my life. The night before I quickly checked in and went for my rehearsal and then dinner. In the short time I was gone, a bedtime turndown service had been done and they took a gift I had for my mom and incorporated it into a beautiful towel design. The service staff during the reception were phenomenal. The food was delicious. We had charcuterie and our vegetarians were accommodated and loved the appetizers. Our late night wings had many comments of “best wings I’ve ever had in my life”. The night of our wedding we returned to our room with a lovely bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. They had homemade treats for our dog, a doggie bed, food and water bowls for him, and even a greeting card from the hotels very own Hendrix. Jennifer Martin, Mackenzie Ryan, Rebecca Illott were all amazing in the wedding planning and coordination process. They were organized, detail oriented, and meticulous which is exactly what I needed. The bridal suite was stunning! The bed and pillows were so comfortable! The banquet department and service team delivered elite service. I knew to expect a good experience, but this was far beyond my expectations and dreams. Thankyou so much!

We stayed at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton for two nights and had a really nice stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and gave us plenty of information to help us get around and make the most of our time in the city. The hotel was undergoing some renovations and construction during our stay, so a few areas and entrances were closed off, but it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience. We used the pool, sauna, and steam room daily, which was a great way to unwind. One of my favourite parts of the hotel was the beautiful outdoor patio and gardens overlooking the river. It’s such a peaceful and scenic spot, especially in the summer. The location was also excellent. We walked to several areas of downtown and had some great restaurants and cafés within easy reach of the hotel. Overall, it was a lovely stay and a great home base for exploring Edmonton.

We fell in love with this hotel! It’s worth every cent spent! The rooms are very cozy and stylish, there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff is very polite and caring. There is a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym and squash. There is also a spa (but it is better to book in advance as it is a popular place), a restaurant on the ground floor with delicious food. Special thanks for the pleasant services (gifts) that you made in honor of the birthday. We will definitely come back here!
