This is a tour of the Alaskan Wildlife Conservation Center and a lunch at a local brewery. The tour guide drives you around and tells you all about the animals while answering any questions you have. During the drive to and from he also gave us background on the area and brewery. It was a lot more of a guided tour than I had realized and I was very happy to have had someone with the knowledge of the local animals and area.
Chef Luke was a great tour guide! Super friendly and very informative. We had the best day exploring at the wildlife center (he talked to the wolf and got it to howl for us!), followed by lunch at Girdwood brewery.
We took the afternoon tour with Chris and this tour was better than expected. We learned a lot about Alaska and the Anchorage area on this tour and we had a wonderful lunch and beer tasting at Girdwood Brewery. The wildlife center was great for all ages. We highly recommend this tour!!
Took the afternoon tour with Chris. The ride was comfortable and Chris was great! He was knowledgeable and friendly. We stopped at Girdwood Brewing Company and was able to do tasters of their beers and ciders and had lunch at the food trucks that were on site. The Wildlife Conservation was nice and the animals seemed to be very well taken care of. We were able to get some really good pictures. Would definitely recommend to someone visiting Anchorage.
Wonderful tour. Chris was our guide and shared a lot of information about the area. Beautiful sights and tasty food & beverages. Especially loved the cider. Love what the AWCC is doing for the animals. Really enjoyed the small group atmosphere as you got to socialize and meet other people. Definitely recommend!
Excellent commentary. Great tour guide. Very nice lunch and beer tasting. Comfortable van. Chris was excellent
My son and I had a great time with Chris. We learned a lot about Alaska and enjoyed the beer/cider we had with our lunch. We both loved seeing the animals at the conservation center. A very unique experience
The best trip ever. Chris was the most attentive, fascinating, educated guide ever. He was helpful, a great conversationalist and knew his stuff. I could not recommend this tour enough. The stops were amazing. Don't hesitate. Just book it. You will be glad you did.
We really enjoyed seeing all the animals and the beer and lunch was really good. I got to try reindeer sausage in a crepe! Seeing the moose, bears. Musock, coyote, wolves, owl, lynx, porcupine, and wolverine was great
Great opportunity to see allow the Alaskan Wildlife in the one place, with beer tasting and beautiful crepes for lunch. Thanks so much to Chris , his knowledge and wisdom.
We had the best time. Chris was wonderful. We had several hour we needed to kill while waiting on our flight home after our cruise. We signed up for the excursion because we love food , beer, and animals. In our previous trips to Alaska we hardly ever saw any animals. As we traveled out from Anchorage we stopped because Chris saw Doll Seep playing on the hillside along the highway. We the went to the brewery for lunch an beers. The food truck was amazing. The beers were very good. We then went to the wildlife sanctuary and got up close to bears, musk oxen, bison, moose, elk, an a porcupine. Then on our way back to Anchorage we spotted beluga whales in the Turnagain arm of Cook Inlet. An amazing day for sure. Thanks for a great day
Amazing Kimberley was our guide and she was awesome. Great stories, she shared so much history. Stopped at beautiful viewing areas at Turn Again Arm. Incredible lunch at Girdwood Brewery. Amazing day. Thank you Kimberley!!
Great trip, Kimberly the guide was very knowledgeable and fabulous, lots of animals being fed on trip
This trip was amazing! Chris was very accommodating and went out of his way multiple times to ensure we had the best experience our group could have in Anchorage, AK. During the drive all of our questions were answered, and information was actively given out to ensure we got an enriching knowledge of Alaska. We pulled over at overlooks to take in the scenery and even had a few group photos taken. We made our way to Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC) and got a chance to see the Big 5. The animals were very well taken care of and very interactive. Again, Chris was a well of knowledge for the animals we were viewing. Afterwards we went to a local brewery with some delicious food trucks to eat from. The beer was on point, and the food left us satisfied with our choices. Our way back was just as stunning as our initial drive out. Chris was accommodating and even dropped us off at our hotel vice the initial meeting spot. This was an amazing experience, and I definitely look forward to it again next time I get a chance to visit Alaska.
This Tours was great. Seen lots of animals and the food and beer was tasty. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and flexible so we all had a great time. Would definitely book with them again!
It was terrific to learn more about the history and culture of Anchorage, to get close to the Alaskan native animals, and to enjoy the freshly prepared food and the locally brewed beer. Our guide was very knowledgeable, professional, polite and accommodating, allowing us to stop and take in and photograph the breath taking views along the way. All of this at a great price too.
Kimberly was a great guide (8/24/25). Very knowledgeable and flexible. On our afternoon tour she knew when to go and see the wildlife active, got us to Girdwood brewery in time for happy hour, and we even made it just in time to see the surfers on the bore wave on the way back. An overall excellent experience.
Great tour with Chris! He was very knowledgeable about the area and stopped along the way. Girdwood Brewery was amazing with great beer and food! Conservation Center was fantastic. Take this tour if you want a knowledgeable guide who is not cheesy.
Kim our driver was fabulous. The wildlife place needs more bears, and other animals. Lots of reindeer.
Chris was excellent. Great narrator and tour guide. Girdwood Brewery was amazing. Lunch was very good.
What a fun morning! Kimberly was our driver/guide and she was great! Very informative and friendly. She truly tired to make this the best experience! We were able to see beluga whales along the coast. We saw a lot of animals at the wildlife center. My 86 year old father and my son enjoyed their beer at the brewery while my sister and I enjoyed a glass of root beer. The food was good too.
Wonderful experience! Our guide was very informative and thorough. We learned a lot about the history and environment of Alaska. The wildlife conservation center was enjoyable and the brewery lunch was tasty! We even saw beluga whales along the way!
We had a great time with a great guide! Kimberly was awesome, and had a lot of great stories about the area and Alaska history. We spent about an hour to 90 minutes at the animal sanctuary, which was perfect. Lunch and beers were also quite good!
We had such an incredible time on this tour! The drive to the wildlife center was unbelievably picturesque with stops to spot animals with binoculars along the way. The wildlife center was better than I had imagined, it was amazing to see so many different animals in such large, peaceful environments unlike a zoo and to hear about how the wildlife center is working to make a difference for the lives of these animals. Lunch at the brewery was delicious and tasting the different beers, seltzers, and root beers was tons of fun. Kimberly was INCREDIBLE! She went out of the way to personalize the tour to focus on information about animals that we were most interested in and shared all about life in Anchorage. We wouldn't hesitate to go on this tour again when we're back in the area.
The lunch and beers were great to start our tour, a great burger. We then headed out to the Wildlife Centre was amazing. The bison, bears, moose, elk, coyotes, wolves were wonderful to see. Chris was a great tour guide and very entertaining with his story telling. Highly recommend.
Wonderful experience with Elizabeth. Pickup was quick and easy. Van was spacious and clean. The trip was thorough and everything we could have asked for.
An experience you’ll never forget!! The atmosphere of the van, Chris the tour guide and the view were wonderful. I believe I had a smile the entire tour! Thank you for the fun Chris!!!✌️
What a great day! Amazing wildlife and delicious food and beer. Chris was a fantastic tour guide! This is a “must do” when you’re in Anchorage.
What a great time! Chris was knowledgeable, funny, and incredibly friendly. The van was clean and very comfortable. The trip was planned with flexibility, always asking the guests what works. The brew house meal and drinks was exceptional! The tour to conservatory was great, giving us time to view, see first hand these amazing animals who are clearly cared for with love and attention. I HIGHLY recommend this trip!
This is an excellent way to see wildlife in the area and enjoy some great food and brews! Chris is an excellent tour guide and super knowledgeable and friendly. This tour is great for people of any age and ability. I highly recommend them!!
We really enjoyed this. We had the driver to ourselves. He was friendly and informative, pointed out local wildlife, stopped for scenic pictures. The Wildlife Center is great, most animals cooperated for photos except for shy foxes. The beer tasting was good and the food truck lunches were delicious.
Alaskan Sights & Bites was fantastic. The scenery was stunning, the food was spectacular and the beer was amazing. We saw moose, doll sheep and eagles along the way to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Once at the Wildlife Center, the animals were very visible: Bears, Moose, Caribou, Muskox, Coyotes, Elk and Wolves!! I highly recommend this excursion.
Our tour guide Chris was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. Great brewery and food. Scenery was breathtaking!
Very enjoyable afternoon! Our tour guides were so friendly and knowledgeable! Would definitely recommend! Had a great time! Thank you!
This was a wonderful tour. Our guide, Chris, was thoughtful and highly knowledgeable. We stopped at beautiful lookout points along our drive and had some exciting animal sightings. The beer was delicious and our lunch was tasty. The Wildlife Center was a highlight for us. This tour offered a longer visiting time than most, which was a priority for us. Furthermore, Chris timed it out well, as we arrived during feeding time when the animals were most active. I would strongly recommend!
Beautiful day, great road trip! Chris did a great job explaining the sights and the important work that the conservation does. Great beer and lunch on our return. I would highly recommend!
Elizabeth did great. ( our van driver )Lunch was ok. At best Beer samples were ok if that’s what you like to do. Only to see animals in fence. Go to a zoo
It was an amazing tour with beautiful scenery and lots of information and good stories! Our tour guide, Diane, did a wonderful job of driving, keeping us informed, allowing for pictures all the way, and being so kind and friendly!
Chris was the best! So knowledgeable polite and nice. Also went out of his way so scenic spots and provided binoculars to use for the wild life.
The best ! View was unbelievable and had great weather you could not see anything else more beautiful and our guide was the best!!! I really appreciated him so informative. Highly recommended
Chris, a native Alaskan, provided the authentic Alaskan experience hubby and I were looking for. He made photo ops stops for Chugach and Kenai Mountains. We sampled local beers at Girdwood Brewing Company. We had an immersive wildlife experience at Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Variety of wildlife seen was awesome! Thx much!
This was an amazing trip , Chris was the guide and was very informative and he stopped at all beautiful places . Would definitely recommend for someone looking for a relaxed trip with not much walking and lot of scenic / wildlife views .
Chris provided hubby and me with authentic Alaska experience. He's a native Alaskan. He knows Alaska. We stopped for the best photo ops of Chugach and Kenai Mountains. We had tasty beer samples at Girdwood Brewing Company. We thoroughly toured Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and saw every type of Alaska wildlife up close in a natural habitat. This is a must see half day tour. Thanks Chris.
My wife and I had such an amazing time taking in the sights from various points along the tour route. It was incredibly cool to get so close to all the animals at the wildlife center, and of course we enjoyed a couple of cold beers at Girdwood Brewing Co to cap off the day! We would recommend this tour to anybody!
It’s a pretty straightforward and easy-going experience. Our ride down to the conservation center was full of good AK information and stories. Got a pretty closeup view of several Alaskan animals like moose and brown bears. The stop at the Girdwood brewery for lunch and tastings was relaxing and enjoyable.
What a fabulous adventure. Chris and Diana were the perfect tour guides… we stopped for gorgeous views on the way to the Wildlife Center. The brewery was great & food truck was delicious Would definitely book this or anyone of the tours they offer!
Very scenic tour and great guides. The conservation wildlife animal was a fun and educational visit.
We only had 1 full day in Anchorage and wanted to get the most out of our visit so we booked this trip with Alaska Sites and Bites. Dan was our tour guide and since he is a local, he knows a lot about the area and the history of the town. We briefly toured around the town and then headed out toward the Wildlife Conservation Center. The scenery was stunning and Dan stopped along the way so we could take photos. At the center, he shared a lot of information about the conservation efforts and gave us the option to walk around or hop in and out of the van to see the different areas and animals. From there we went to Girdwood Brewery near the ski slopes and had a delicious lunch and sampled some beers. All of us had a great time. We highly recommend this tour!
Such a great experience! We didn’t rent a car so we booked this tour to go see the wildlife center. The weather was perfect, sunny and clear skies, and the animals were incredible. We saw black and brown bears in their dens, owls, musk ox, moose, caribou, wolves, foxes, etc. and learned a lot from our tour guide. On the way there and back we did a few stops to admire the nature and get pictures. After the Wildlife center, we went to a brewery that has rotating food trucks outside for lunch and a tasting. It was an enjoyable experience. Our tour guide was great and overall it was a wonderful experience. One thing that would’ve helped is if they reached out 1-2 days in advance via TripAdvisor message or text with details like confirming the pickup time and location. Not needed since they were on time and where they said they would be, but it usually helps with peace of mind.
