Skagway Scooter Gold Rush Adventure

Our tour guides were awesome. There were 7 couples in my group and none of the females had ever been on a motorized scooter. With a 5-10 min riding lesson , we were all ready to go. The scenery was beautiful. Will definitely do this again. Loved it! Worth the money.

Carl and Morgan were super nice and we had Carl give us a private tour since n one else booked. They are easy to ride with common sense scooters. Scenery and history facts were really cool! Thanks yall!

This was a well organized event. You will be traveling most of your time on dirt , but yet well maintained roads. I’d recommend having a go pro or mega glasses that you can record while maintaining both hands on the handlebars. My daughter in-law used her mega glasses to record and it was amazing. Our tour guide Carl was awesome and well knowledgeable of all our stops. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It was a retreat from all the other highly packed excursions. This was nice and calm and well worth the cost.

Fun excursion on little Honda 50cc scooters. About 15 - 20 miles total. Guide was knowledgeable. Jacket, helmet, and gloves provided.

Since hubs was not able to be out on the trails exploring, we took a weekend and played total tourist in Skagway - train ride, e-bikes, bordello tour, breweries, kitschy storefronts - but this tour was by far the best part. Scooters are easy and comfortable to ride, and getting out of Skagway proper over to Dyea is a must do. Shane was a great guide - good with the important historical info, but also appropriately attentive to our small group. Choose this tour for sure!

Great adventure - even on a cold rainy day. Absolutely beautiful scenery- scooters are fun and easy to drive. Tour guide was great. Highly recommend this tour as a different way to see Alaska.

This was my favorite excursion of our cruise. Our ride ended up being just the four of us, which made it feel more personal. Morgan is safety conscious and made sure we were comfortable handling the scooter before we took off. We rode mostly on a gravel road to see some absolutely beautiful scenery of forests, a lake and the Skagway river. Morgan was a super host and we would go again if we have the opportunity. Highly recommend.

The guides were awesome. They were there every step of the way to ensure our safety. I went on this excursion with 6 other married couples. The men are all experienced motorcycle riders. None of the women had ever been on a scooter. So there was some fear from the guys and gals. We were given a tutorial and took a lap in the parking lot of the business and we were off. Best excursion ever. No accidents, no falls and no mishaps. The ladies were commanding those scooters, lol. The scooters were easy to ride for even those that had never been on one. The sights and scenery were amazing. This was an awesome excursion. I recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Skagway. Can’t say enough about this tour. Loved it!

Our guide Sean is amazing. The tour is very interesting and fun. I was concerned regarding the weather but all the gears were provided and this makes the tour very comfortable to participate. Only one issue, gears may need to sanitize between each use.

Skagway Scooters Gold Rush was one of our favorite excursions on our Alaskan cruise. We were picked up in the center of town and after a short drive, we were given gear to wear and debriefed about the scooter. Our guide, Carl was very patient with the novices in our group. We drove all around the Skagway area; taking in beautiful sites. Carl was very informative of the history of the area. We had so much fun!

Our experience was great. They were great to work with and picked us up and communicated on time. Will definitely do this again. Will definitely recommended over the other tours that the cruise lines offer.

This was a really great excursion after being on a boat for days I wanted to skip the crowds and ride into the state park on scooters and learn about the history. The guide was great very knowledgeable and the stops were beautiful. At the end we went to town to see the old cemetery and a beautiful waterfall. It was a perfect day!! And did I mention it rained we had gear the provided and everything was awesome!! Highly recommend this trip

This was by far was our most favorite excursion. They help you feel comfortable on the scooter before you start . They take you to see things outside of the town that most cruisers will miss. Carl was very informative and made it so fun.

What can I say! Of our 7 night cruise on the Disney Magic - this tour was easily one of the best moments of the trip! Our guide Shane was phenomenal….friendly, great story teller, fun….we learnt so much during our stops at key locations and had fun getting to them! The Honda Ruckus scooters were well maintained and fun to ride! Also a huge plus was the level of customer service offered - when my inexperienced sister was too Nervous to proceed with the tour after trying the scooter - they gave her a full refund and a lift back to town! Where in the world does that happen!!! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this tour.

We were in Skagway, Alaska on June 12, 2026, and we rented scooters from Skagway Scooters. Morgan Mayberry (Owner) was an amazing host and tour guide. We rode for about 3.5 hrs on Honda Ruckus scooters and had a blast exploring Skagway. Morgan was perfect in the way he made sure everyone was comfortable on the ride. The history and stories he shared with us as the various stopping points. He was top notch in every way. I ride motorcycles and my girl knew I'd enjoy some wind therapy, and she was right. We enjoyed the scooters. Enjoyed the family that rode with us along with Morgan. If you are interested in trying something new, or different, by all means, rent a scooter and go have some fun. I highly recommend Skagway Scooters and I'd do the ride again, if given the chance.

We had a fantastic time exploring Skagway by scooter. Carl is a really great guide, and the company very well run. The scooters were in excellent shape and very easy to learn how to use. Highly recommend this tour.

We had an amazing day riding around Skagway! I'm glad this is the activity we chose to do. It was so fun and Skagway is absolutely beautiful. This was the perfect way to see it and take it all in.

If you’re debating between a bus tour and this, stop debating. Renting scooters with Skagway Scooters was the highlight of our entire Alaska cruise. Getting out of the tourist congestion on Main Street and actually riding through the backcountry felt like we finally got the real Alaska experience we came for. The scooters are well-maintained, the gear is all provided, and they make sure you’re comfortable before you ever hit the road. The Gold Rush Cemetery, the back roads, the mountain views - none of it hits the same from a bus window. Do yourself a favor and book this one. You won’t regret it.

This was the best excursion we did on our Alaskan cruise. Our tour guides picked us up in town, taught us how to drive the scooters, and then we proceeded to hit the road as a small group of 8 people. We had frequent stops with scenic views and incredible stories about the history of the land. We would have stuck around and paid for the same tour again if they had not been sold out! If you choose to book this tour I can assure you, you will not be disappointed!

100% recommend and will do the scooter adventure again if in Skagway. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing so much history of the area and taking us to see breathtaking vistas. What a spectacular way to sight see! THANK YOU for making this a trip worth remembering!!

This is a good way to see the landscape of Alaska. The guides were on time and very knowledgeable about Skagway. I felt very safe driving a schooner vie all got a lesson on how to drive a scooter. The scooters were almost brand new. You can really enjoy the country side on a scooter instead of a bus. I highly recommend this excursion .

I was contacted by the company 1 week before our adventure. They provided us with instructions and details on where and what time to meet just to confirm. Great communication. Morgan picked us up in a van (down by the river) in town to give us a ride to the actual location of the starting point. Carl, our AWESOME TOUR GUIDE, fitted everyone with helmets, gloves, and jackets. We went outside and he went over the safety procedures, riding techniques/ safe operation, and allowed everyone to practice until they felt comfortable with their scooter. While on the ride Carl made sure the group stayed together and was safe. During the stops Carl provided a wonderful history of the area we were and a little history of the good rush. I would highly recommend taking this tour. Carl and Morgan are amazing tour guides.

It’s was easy to get to and everything we needed was provided. It was fun riding the scooters! We saw a lot of bald eagles!!

Amazing experience. Very fun and exciting with a dash of history and informative tour around Skagway. Carl was an amazing guide. Can sense his love and passion for Skagway. Don't let the idea scare you, the scooters are super user friendly and extremely safe. If you can ride a bicycle you can ride a scooter! Don't forget to tip your guide at the end. They work extremely hard. You get so much for your money.

So sick and so so fun! It was a very unique way to see the city and surrounding areas. I love that they hired a local who really knew their stuff. It felt like I was doing things that locals would do rather than the tourist traps

We had the best time, bikes were easier to ride than expected and all of the ground you cover really increased how much of Alaska we saw on our trip. We did the very last tour of the season and it was SO worth it 💯

Getting in a scooter is a great way to see Skagway. So much better than riding a train or a bus around the city. I was nervous to do this but our guide Axton let me practice before we left. He bought us to some cool photo spots too. Cold or rainy? That’s okay they gave me pants, a jacket, a helmet and gloves. Good memory.

Suitable for anyone comfortable riding on any bike on very quiet roads. Bikes were in great condition and the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

The tour guide Axton and organizer Morgan were so easy going. We learned so much during our stops along the way. And of course, the scooters were fun!

This was a 10/10 for us! We felt the rush of the air while zooming along the most beautiful sites of Skagway. Our tour guide Axton stopped at all the historical sites and Axton told us all about the history and background of each stop. We didn’t feel like we were on a tour since we have the rush of the wind in between short stops. He was knowledgeable and easy to interact with. Super laid back guy that made you feel safe in the wilderness. I would definitely recommend this route when going to Skagway for the day!

This is an activity that uses real roads being used by other motor vehicle vehicles larger than you. You should be comfortable driving on the road and obeying traffic laws. Our guide was very informative on how to use the motorbike: how to signal, accelerate and brake safely. We drove on roads and saw sites that were astounding and breathtaking. So glad I chose this tour off the beaten path.

Do yourself a favor and rent a scooter and hit the dusty trail! Best “excursion” we had all trip. Finally got out of the crazy cruise boat/jewelry store congestion and finally got a taste of the remote Alaska we came for- worth every penny! Owner is great!

The scooter tour is a must when you come to Skagway. It was one of our favorite thing we did on our trip. Axeton was an amazing tour guide. He was super knowledgeable about the history and the local lifestyle- living in Skagway. Morgan was our transport driver and he dropped us off at the Skagway Brewery . If you do nothing else, book this locally and take this tour!

Honda ruckus scooter were fun. Great trips. Axion the guide was really good also. It’s interactive rather then just sitting and watching.

We had a great time on this tour in spite of the rainy weather! The clothing and protective gear provided enhanced the experience signicantly, keeping us warm a dry throughout the ride.

Morgan was incredibly patient, helpful, and ensured we saw beautiful views and went at our own pace (both fast and slow at times). He was very accommodating and kept an eye on us as we travelled. Great tour guide and highly recommend!

If you are comfortable on a bike it is easy. We had a great time the guides were kind and patient and kept us safe. We stopped at many beautiful spots, and the guides were full of information.
