Great experience! Learned a lot about dog sledding, got to help harness the dogs, and it is an experience we’ll never forget.
Had a great time Andy and his team are very hospitable and you have A very fun day . The dogs are beautiful and so is the area in which you go sledding with the dogs well worth the investment. And many dogs about 75 dogs to see and greet and about 4 goats lol . Great day !
100000% recommend! The experience was so amazing! Guides were very accommodating and sweet! We had an opportunity to meet the dogs before sledding and they offered us some warm drinks after! It was easy to locate the destination and arrive there safely even after a severe winter storm! Would definitely recommend booking if you’re thinking about it!
Used this outfitter last year for a couple guided fishing trips, which were awesome so I hooked up with them again for a Mush trip. We were welcomed, educated and taking on a trail ride with the dogs doing the hard work! Bucket list checked off. Dogs were well behaved and the guide very well versed! Would I do it again, perhaps if I could go say on an overnight(s) trip.
Worst experience ever; worst customer service with no logic and compassion. This is not how you do a business.
What an amazing experience. Anastasia picked us up at the hotel and was very knowledgeable and entertaining during the drive out to location. The dog team and musher were outstanding and the scenery along the trail was so beautiful. Did see one moose along the way and had such a great time. Highly recommended
The very first thing I’d like to point out is the great customer service. From the moment of the reservation ( Sasha was really patient), to Greg who drove us to Nenana and definitely the mushers - they were so nice to me and my family - really nice and friendly people. But definitely the dogs ares the real deal - they are champions!!!
Alaska Fishing and Raft Adventures gets my highest recommendation for their dog sledding! We had a special situation arise while in Fairbanks and contacted Miklene about the dog sledding. She was able to work out an opportunity for us to participate in an afternoon trip to Goldstream Husky Sled Dog tours, and it was a high point of our trip. Andi and Sebastian were the stars of the day, and it was a special treat to interact with the dogs - who obviously couldn't wait to run! Don't hesitate to contact Alaska Fishing and Raft Adventures for their dog sledding options.
Amazing experience. The staff was professional and friendly. The highlight of our trip. Learned a lot about dog mushing and the dogs.
The dog sledding adventure was incredible. Carolyn was amazing, the dogs incredible abs despite the very cold weather, it was purely exhilarating. Eric was so welcoming and genuine as well. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
My friends and I traveled to Alaska last month and found this tour on a whim. We are SO lucky that we did - it was one of the highlights of our trip. As soon as we arrived, Sebi greeted us with a huge smile and we immediately felt welcome. They provided warmer clothing (gloves, boots, jackets, etc.) which was great even on the sunny day. We got the chance to meet the dogs and ride around on the sleds for over an hour (which is significantly more than most other tours in the area). It was so interesting learning more about mushing and their background. After our tour, they invited us in for coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies. This team at Goldstream Husky was so personable and genuinely welcoming, it was a remarkable morning. I would strongly recommend this trip to anyone that is in the area! We would all love to come back soon.
Our VIP Dog Sledding Tour was the highlight of my trip. For any dog lover this is the chance of a lifetime to interact with dogs and then get to take part in their livelihood. We had the opportunity to harness the dogs and pet them. We loved the sledding experience and our musher, Carrie, was PHENOMENAL! She is an ex Yukon racer and gave us a lot of great information about the dog sledding world. It was a true joy to watch these dogs run and do what they love to do. And a HUGE shout out and thank you to Andy for making this possible. If it wasn’t for his beautiful piece of property, this wouldn’t be possible. And last but not least a HUGE thank you to our driver, Greg (fisherman) for getting us to Nenana from our hotel. He was a host like no other and gave us great advice for enjoying our stay in Fairbanks. THIS IS A MUST DO TRIP!
GREAT EXPERIENCE. The staff made sure that we were well outfitted. They gave us a great education and understanding of their operation. We loved socializing with the dogs. I DO NOT AGREE with post that the dogs were inhumanly treated and malnourished. They get three well balanced square meals per day. They had perfect physiques much like any endurance athlete. The scenery was AMAZING. We definitely got our money's worth. WE WILL RETURN.
I visited the place with my mother and sister and we just had the most amazing time. We stayed there 10 days with the crew in the hut and got to experience dog sledding every day. The crew was really lovely and taught us everything they could about the dogs. How to read the emotions and how the dogs tell you, how they feel. All in all I had a wonderful holiday in the most amazing winter wonderland. Thanks to my dog team Ruby, Simba, Ice, Stryder, Jimmy and Rough for taking such good care of me and thanks to the crew for taking such good care for the dogs!!!
I had a wonderful and great dog sled experience in this place! I was really sceptical, when I came there, because last winter I saw some other yards in Norway, where the dogs weren’t well treated. But in this place the dogs are loved and the crew is taking a lot of care of them. The dogs only have to run, when they are healthy, the yard is really clean and the crew explained us a lot of other care-work, which they are doing for the dogs all day long. When they are working with the dogs, you can see, how comfortable the dogs were. It was lovely! They really understand the dogs und only want the best for them. I only can highly recommend the experience in this place, it was amazing. Much love, Xx <3
What a great time we had on our dog mushing adventure! My twin sister and I were treated to a very personal experience – our guide Spencer picked us up at our hotel and took us to Goldstream Husky where we met and played with the sled dogs, saw their kennels, learned how to harness them, and enjoyed an hour and a ½ tour through pristine forests and over frozen lakes. Our guides at Goldstream Husky ensured we had enough warm clothing (extra layers were added before heading out!) and provided insight into the sights we saw along the way. The scenery was breathtaking, and the dogs were enthusiastic, fit and well-cared for, and clearly loved their jobs!
Andi was so welcoming! He made us feel like family. He even informed us of an additional experience which was an event we had not planned on--watching sled dog races in Fairbanks! It was so much fun to watch! Marvin and Carrie, who were our "guides" on our ride were so helpful, even to the point of dressing us for our ride! Marvin led the way on his snow machine, and stopped periodically to take excellent photos of us on the sled. Carrie answered so many of our questions, as she was right behind us on the sled. We could not have had a better experience!!! We will never forget our time with our crew!!
Andy and Melana were fantastic hosts! The dogs are amazing animals! We had a great time learning about the dogs and the Iditarod race from Andy. Even though we brought warm clothes, Melana gave us pants, boots and coats to keep us really warm. She also said their gear was better suited for the dogs (didn't have to worry about them jumping on us with our nice winter clothes). She was absolutely right...the dogs loved jumping up on us to get some love. We got to help feed them after our run. We had a great time and would highly recommend this dog sledding tour to anyone who wants a hands on experience! Hot chocolate and apple spice cake was the perfect finishing touch!
It was super fun. Andy and his family where amazing make us feel as part of them. Definitely will do it again.
Andy, the owner is a kind and generous plus extremely professional gentleman. Extremely accommodating. He assisted when our car was trapped in snow. The sled ride was scenic and adventurous filled with laughter and joys. This is a true professional husky ride instead of the commercialized ride so do this and forget all of the others if you truly want a ride of your life time.
What a great day to take a tour on a dog sled. The weather was a little cold but no matter, the staff had no problem accommodating with warmer gear to take the journey. At one point, a staff member offered her own gloves to us to use to keep warm. Would definitely recommend for everyone
Andy and Crew were the best ever. From introduction to the dogs, the sled ride and the personal invite into the home for Hot Chocolate afterwards. Andy and Crew provided the ultimate Dog Sled Adventure !!!. The scenery was Awesome, the snow was crisp and the dogs were unbelievable. This is an adventure of a lifetime and I would strongly recommend Andy and his team to anyone want to fulfill their dogsledding dreams !!!
From the moment I was picked up at my hotel till the moment I was returned to my hotel my experience was nothing but exceptional. Andi was friendly and engaging with conversation about the upcoming experience. His staff was just as friendly. The opportunity to interact with the sled dogs was fun and enjoyable. Just interacting with the dogs was a pleasant experience. Even though I brought what I thought were adequate clothes, Andy very kindly said that warmer clothing was needed and provided me with proper dog sledding clothes. The dog sledding experience itself was amazing. The scenery was breath taking. The only sounds were the sled moving over the snow and the occasional mush command by the musher. My musher gave me a quick tutorial on how to ride the sled (as a passenger) and what actions I should take in case something happened (nothing untoward happened). After we returned to the dog yard and put everything away, I was invited into their home for coffee or hot chocolate, I chose hot chocolate.
my wife and I were here on our honeymoon. we first booked an ice fishing tour that was amazing. fishing was a little rough but others in our cabin still caught some fish! the next day we had a booking for the VIP Dog mushing and meet and greet. the roads were pretty bad but the owner himself came and picked my wife and I up... how's that for customer service!? on a day that we thought new plans were going to need to be made we ended up having the time of our lives!!! I cannot express how great of a time we had with both venues but I will say that you will not be disappointed with anything you book with Alaska Fishing and Raft Adventures- thank you Andy and all the staff! you all are amaing!!!
I had an amazing experience of dog mushing with this tour. The tour guide, Tyson made sure that I got what I needed and he is kind to take multiple photos of me. I love this tour so much, the gold streams' dogs were so cute and they took me riding around like 30-45 minutes which is I like, and enjoying seeing the beautiful scenery and fresh snow made my experience even better.
One of the most exciting tours we did on our vacation. Our tour guide, Cody, picked us up right on time and brought us breakfast. We drove an hour and we arrived at Andy's cabin. It was a beautiful place, he gave us clothing and offered us coffee. He was super nice and welcoming. After we got suited up, we got to meet and pet the dogs. I think he had over 60 dogs! Before going sledding, he let us put the harness on the dogs and meet the dogs we were sledding with. It was an amazing experience, the sledding was very exciting and the view was beautiful. We had so much fun. Highly recommend doing this tour!
This was about an hour out of town of Fairbank's, very scenic drive. I was solo on this dog sledding adventure, only one i could find that offered solo passengers. Greatvtime, they fully outfit you, you get to pet and interact w the dogs and its a nice long run you go on. Very nice time, friendly guide too though i forget the young mans name.
I had the most Amazing and Magical Time during my Sub-Arctic Wilderness Dog Mushing tour experience! "Andy"and "Jakob" were great hosts. Their services, magnificent dogs, hospitality, and kindness far exceeded my expectations. I did not want to leave...I fell in love with all those beautiful and sweet dogs, such great athletes! The property and homestead is exceptional. My experience at Goldstream Huskies was truly magnificent. I highly recommend this experience to Everyone. I would love to return again in the future, and will definitely make a point of that. I will forever cherish this memory in my heart! Patricia Alonso
I had so many favorite parts of my experience. From the scenic drive and pulling over to get pictures, to greeting the dogs and the friendliness of everyone there it was all awesome. Upon arrival I was suited up and the patience of them outfitting me was comical but successful. I went out to greet the dogs which was an experience, OMG they were so friendly and lovable. I watch as my guide prepared the dogs. The owner drove ahead on the snow machine and photographed me the entire way which I never expected but was elated by. I was a little frightened at first because they are fast but after a minute I was able to just enjoy the ride and I was better than I was hoping. Upon our return we sat around the table drinking coffee and talking, I felt like I was home. This experience is one I will cherish forever and I am so grateful that I chose Alaska Fishing and Raft Adventures. I would use them again anytime I return.
One of the most unique things you’ll ever do in your whole life! You will come to absolutely love this northern tough winter culture. Our mushing champion “guide” was Andy and he is from Bavaria originally. He came to Alaska because he said they had the best dogs. It was fabulous. Highly recommended -prepare for the cold- suggest Alaskaelement.com for this. Always wear your face mask the voice of experience.
Andy was the greatest guide and could not have been more hospitable! He greeted us with a warm cabin, bathroom and space to get into our winter gear. You have to rent a car to get there as the place is quite remote, but a very easy drive and well worth it! Andy lets you spend as much time with the dogs as you want and then takes you out on a great adventure. We saw 2 moose while on our sled-ride, so it was magical. Afterwards, we went back to the cabin to warm up with tea/cookies and then rave about it the whole way home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANDY for this experience!
We couldn't have asked for a better hostess! We learned a lot about the climate, the dogs, the terrain, the gear and Germany! This is a must do, especially if you want that personal touch. Anna-Christie (sorry if we misspelled your name) was a pure delight and inspiration!
These s are amazing! The owners are amazing! The setting is sublime! If you love dogs this I is a must! They share with you their home, their home and their passion! The sledding experience through boreal forest and over frozen lakes was smooth and easy! The dogs love to sled and it shows! The puppies will warm your hearts. Such devotion to each other; humans to dogs and dogs to humans was a joy to witness and experience.
The experience was fabulous; from the reception, the coexistence with the dogs, and of course the experience in the sled with the expert guide Christine
We absolutely loved this experience!!! It was not a large tour company but a couple who opened their home and lives to show people what they do. The dogs were so wonderful and happy. We got to play with all of them and take our time getting to know them. This is a must do!
Completely thrilled with 2 weeks with Andy, Sebi and the team. Real hospitality for everyone who comes and a huge heart for their dogs. That made the visit with you something very special. Thanks again for everything!
