Cold Rated Package - 3 Piece (Anc) -20f

Going into this first time trip to Alaska, I was unsure whether this shop would pull through for us. And, boy, did they ever!! Scheduled in advance, we got the drop-off and pick-up service delivery to our hotel, so we never needed to make extra trips about town to procure. Can’t say enough about this delivery service. The bags were dropped off on time, packed up with everything we ordered. And, when we were finished, we repacked our dirty laundry and left it at the hotel without worry. Hassle-free services like this is just adds the cherry to the top of the trip. I can’t remember exactly what we ordered but it was better than enough for our 0 degree plus 20 mph winds adventure. Going up to Matanuska Glacier, it all worked perfectly, literally from head to toe. We will definitely be using their gear the next time we’re in town.

We had an amazing time visiting Brooks Falls to see the salmon run and brown bears. Alaska outdoor gear rentals made it possible. We rented two of their Katmai packages (a tent, two sleeping bags, and two pads) for our family of 4. The equipment performed perfectly. The tents were spacious and the bags and pads kept us warm on chilly nights, even with considerable rain and wind. renting was definitely the correct decision, it helped us pack light on our flights to and from Alaska and made all of our other adventures more pleasant, not having to schlep all of our camping equipment around to other places.

We needed cold weather parkas snowpants and boots for several tours we planned like the Matsu Glacier tour and dog sledding. We called Alaska OutDoor Gear Rental and they set us up fast and had a variety of parka, snowpants and winter boot options. We appreciated being able to drop off at our hotel.

Do not order until the last minute because they will not refund past their deadline regardless of the reason. I wasn't able to use the cold rated package as my Northern Lights tour was canceled due to weather, which was beyond my control. I was able to give the cold rated package company more than 24 hours notice and never even picked up the items, but they would not refund the $45. They were very communicative prior to my request, but would not respond after I requested a refund.

The experience was an amazing experience a trip of life time . must do again trip with family and friends

I got a chance to make a quick 2 day business trip to Anchorage, and I've always wanted to see the Northern Lights. I found Alaska Outdoor Gear Rental on Trip Advisor when I was looking for tours and they were a life saver. The gear was clean and in good condition and kept me toasty warm. The cost was about the same as checking a suitcase, which I would have had to do to bring winter gear, and mine wouldn't have been as good as this. Several members of my tour were too cold to stay out with us the whole night, but I was toasty warm and got to spend three hours watching an amazing Northern LIghts display. I booked last minute, and didn't have a rental car, so I payed extra to have the items delivered and picked up from my hotel. They even threw in boots in two sizes to make sure I had ones that fit since I wasn't totally sure of my size. Highly recommend, would definitely rent from them again.

I highly recommend Alaska Outdoor Gear Rental. We were in Fairbanks. Evening temps ranged from -2 to -11 and daytime temps went above 12 only once. This gear kept us comfortable outdoors while searching for the aurora, walking with reindeer, and viewing outdoor exhibits for Ice Alaska. Was only cold when taking off the gloves to take photos :-) One tip: be sure to thoroughly check the gear before leaving. My bad, I only tried the right boot and I discovered a minor issue with the left later that night. Boots were easily swapped the next morning. We will definitely use this company when returning to Alaska.

The gear kept me warm the whole time I was out hiking and even while standing around looking at the aurora for over an hour. I never wanted to take off the jacket and honestly didn’t even realize how cold it is whenever I had it on! They were flexible and helpful and got me everything I needed quickly and had excellent recommendations to make sure I had a great Alaska experience. Can’t recommend highly enough! Will definitely use them again on my next trip.

From the time I contacted Alaska Outdoor Gear Company, I couldn't have asked for better customer service. I rented clothing for my grandkids coming from Florida and, although I had to modify my order several times, it was never an issue. I would highly recommend this company for all of your outdoor needs.

I took many pictures of the majestic mountains in Alaska. I was able to withstand the Alaskan winds with little ease. I took some wonderful pictures of moose. While I did not catch an Aurora, I know my daughter will dance under the Alaskan sky forever more.

At the last minute it rained and the venue recommended ice cleats to safely get around. I simply texted with the request and it was no problem to add a pair to my pick up order. Good price on gear and great customer service. Will use them again!

Went dog sledding and the high temperature that day was 6 degrees. The gear was in excellent condition and did the job. I was as warm as possible under the conditions. Pick up was easy. Customers service was good. I am renting from them again soon!

I rented a ski jacket and downhill Skis and my friends rented snowboards. Skis were in great condition and had many boots or setups to try on. We love not having to wait in the rental lines at the mountain. They have flexible hours to pick up and return and fair prices.

----- I would like to thank you for the service provided at Alaska Outdoor Gear! I am writing for my father, Luiz Henrique, who was in Anchorage in March and received excellent service from Michele and Dave. Michele was super friendly, attentive, perfectly guided in the choice of accessories and was the best choice my father had during his stay in Alaska! He rented the cold weather clothes on 03/10 and they delivered perfectly to the hotel in another city, Fairbanks, in a sealed bag with his name, with the clothes he chose, everything right, without any problems! He rented the items for 3 days and on 3/15 he returned the bag with the clothes to the Fairbanks store. That was super handy because he didn't have to go back to Anchorage. Thank you very much for your attention!! We highly recommend the store, the service and the equipment, excellent quality!

This place was great! We spoke to them before our trip and got all the gear we would need for a winter trip lined up and they delivered it to our hotel in Anchorage and when our trip was over, they picked it up at our hotel in Fairbanks. We had all we needed--parkas, boots, underlayers, gloves, balaclavas. We were toasty and warm all during our trip which included snowmachining, dog sledding, Northern Lights viewing, Snow shoe-ing and walking around outside. We also rented cross country skis from here one day and it was so easy and hassle free. Highly recommend using this company for all your gear needs! Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
