Our guide Alan was very helpful and attentive to our needs. The journey was great although I can be long.

Itinerary
Here you will find informational displays about the pipeline and an example of a pig, the device used to clean and inspect the inside of the pipeline. It took 70,000 construction workers and $8 billion of investment capital to build the famous 4-foot silver thread that snakes its way through 800 miles of Alaskan wilderness to reach the nation's thirsty refineries, crossing mountain ranges, earthquake zones, permafrost, and rivers. Some 420 miles of the pipeline are elevated (with 554 animal crossings), and outside Fairbanks is the place to see it. As you watch, consider this: Every hour, more than a million dollars of black gold flows through it.
From Fairbanks, the Elliot Highway takes you about 73 miles north to the start of the Dalton Highway, traversing boreal forest hills of birch and aspen trees and tundra valleys of streams and small rivers. You will cross the mighty Yukon River and pass through the valley to Finger Mountain, a treeless high point with short walkways and kiosks to learn about the region’s geology and alpine tundra. The Arctic Circle turnout has bathrooms and a picnic area.
We will stop twice at Yukon River Camp. The first time is for fuel and restroom when we go north. We will stop again for dinner on our way back from the Arctic Circle. This camp has a great location at the Yukon River Bridge at Mile 56 Dalton Highway. Winter menu at the Yukon River Noodle House includes freshly made Bahn Mi sandwiches and filling noodle soups.
Located at 66º33’ – the Arctic Circle marks the location where on June 21 the sun doesn’t set and on December 21 the sun doesn’t rise. Your guide will celebrate with you when you make this crossing and present you with your official Arctic Circle Certificate.

This was a nice day trip. The Arctic Circle is a nice check off the bucket list. Our driver and guide Alan was a very safe driver and gave us lots of information throughout the trip. Fair warning though, the road can be quite bad depending on the season. If there was lots of rain, the road is very jarring on the spine. There is also no view at the Arctic Circle point.
Very long drive but our driver Alan was quite good at keeping us safe in rainy, muddy conditions. It’s funny to be able to say we’ve been to the Arctic circle. Nice to travel with a few others we didn’t previously know but with whom we became friends.
Going to the Arctic Circle was amazing. The Dalton highway is an experience of its own. My husband worked the pipeline back in the 70’s. Being able to see it was very special. Alan our driver and tour guide was great. I felt very safe with his driving
It was a great tour with a fantastic guide. It was a very scenic ride with multiple stops. We got to see the Alaska pipeline. Our driver and guide, Cody, was very personable, friendly, and accommodating. Getting to go to the Artic Circle was an amazing experience. We were able to see 2 moose and a bunch of ptarmigans. This tour was well worth it!!
Nick was amazing throughout the tour. We were able to capture wonderful pictures. And the cherry on the top was to get the arctic circle certificate. Would recommend 10/10
If you love nature and seeing some of the amazing Alaska landscapes, plus the thrill of seeing the Alaska pipeline, as well as the trip’s feature—the Arctic Circle, you will love this trip. Our driver/guide was awesome and well informed. Pick this experience—you will be glad you did.
The time does not benefit customers. If we starting is one or two hours late. We can see Northern Lights on the way back. I will recommend others tour companies that we met on the way. They started at 11 or 12 PM to friends.
Our driver Nick was amazing. We had so many questions and he did his best to answer them all. Our 8yo asked a lot of questions and Nick was very patient and kind to him. When you are on a van for 12 hours, it is nice to have.a great driver. The trip had a lot of great highlights, beautiful Alaskan sites, ptarmigans, feeding the grey jays at the circle, walking on the frozen Yukon River and even seeing the Norther Lights on the way back. Not the most spacious van, legs were very achy by the end, but worth it. Needed lots of warm layers as you are on and off a warm van into the -20 degree weather with wind. Thanks Nick! Very memorable. -The Reno Family of 5.
Well, it is a long drive but through some beautiful country! The van was super big and comfortable and Nick, our driver and guide was the best!! Really caref that we got to see what we wanted to, never got tired of questions, just super nice!
It was a very great experience, our driver/guide (Nick) was so patient and knowledgeable about the place. I highly recommend this tour to everyone.
Very scenic. Some of the things like snow covered trees need to be seen to be believed (like 3 feet of snow precariously held up by pine trees). Lots of cool wild life and just interesting in general. Host was very knowledgeable and van was comfortable. The company had plastic inserts in the windows that eliminated frosted windows (limits deposition frosting).
The experience was stunning. Learned cool interesting facts. The views were breathtaking. Nick our guide was great and even stopped a few times to let us see and capture the aurora lights. I would deff do this experience again.
This tour is exceptional! Long day, long driving, but worth everything! And we had the best driver/guide, Nick! He cares of everyone, is helpful, knows the history, showed us the Northern Lights! Needless to say, is a very good driver. I’d do this tour in a heartbeat again!
Great trip everything we had hoped for. Our driver/guide, Nick was fabulous!!
Avoid this operator if you want a reliable trip. I received a cancellation notice late in the evening the night before my tour, with the company claiming "bad weather." This was clearly an excuse; the weather that day was actually perfect. Two roommates at my hostel booked with different operators for the same day. Both of their trips went ahead as planned, and one of their guides even remarked it was the best weather they’d had in a while. Extremely disappointing to be misled like this.
We had a great experience with Nick on this day tour. It’s a long journey but Nick took good care of us and made sure everyone was safe and comfortable. We learned a lot about Alaska from him. Although it’s a long trip we didn’t get bored at all, and we saw some amazing views along the way. I highly recommend Nick and this company for anyone who wants to explore arctic circle.
I just did an Arctic Circle day tour and it was absolutely fantastic—easily a 5-star experience from start to finish. A huge shoutout to our guide, Nick, who made this trip truly unforgettable. Nick is incredibly responsible, knowledgeable, and such a safe driver. The roads in the Arctic Circle can be rough and bumpy, but he drove smoothly and confidently the entire time. He shared so many interesting facts about the Arctic, explaining everything clearly and keeping us engaged with great little knowledge bits from animals, plants and everything throughout the day. What I loved most was how thoughtful and caring he was. He constantly checked in on how we were feeling, made sure everyone was comfortable, and did so much to help us fully enjoy and immerse ourselves in the experience. He’s friendly, compassionate, and genuinely cares about his guests — the kind of guide you hope to have every time you travel. The weather was a bit rough at first, but once it cleared up, we got to see some of the most stunning, one-of-a-kind scenery you can only find in the Alaska wilderness. It was breathtaking and nothing like I’ve seen before. Overall, this tour is highly recommended. The views are incredible, and the service and care from Nick are top-tier. If you’re thinking about visiting the Arctic Circle, this tour is absolutely worth it!
Our tour guide, Nick, was extremely knowledgeable. Throughout the entire tour, he shared fascinating information and answered nearly every question related to Alaska. His sense of humor was outstanding and made the experience even more enjoyable. If you decide to take this tour, I highly recommend asking for Nick as your guide. However, I am sure the other guides are just as professional and well-prepared. Highly recommended!
The Arctic Circle tour was an incredible experience and well worth the long day of travel. I initially hesitated because of the length of the tour, but the scenery along the way is absolutely stunning and there are plenty of stops to capture the views. My guide, Nick, was fantastic and went out of his way to help me take photos, which I truly appreciated as a solo traveler who rarely gets pictures of myself on these trips. The absolute highlight was catching the Northern Lights on the drive home—it was the perfect end to the adventure!
Alan was a great tour guide for the treck to the arctic circle. He added lots of color to the long drive, including Dalton Highway etiquette. He took the time to stop both on the way out to the Arctic circle to see unique sights and great views, as well as on the way back to see the aurora. Alan shared his favorite aurora viewing spot, which we visited multiple times after. If you are looking for a full day trip to a rarely visited spot, this tour is great!
This was an excellent experience from the beginning. Our tour guide, Nick, was on tine at the pick up location. He welcomed us to the tour and gave us a safety briefing before departure. Throughout the drive, Nick was teaching us about each different locations. He is also an excellent driver. He made sure we would make it back safe. Overall, I am very satisfied with the experience.
Nick was truly a BLESSING to have as our tour guide! From the start, he was incredibly patient, kind, and so knowledgeable about the area. He made sure everyone felt included and never rushed, he even took tons of pictures for everyone without hesitation. His kind blue eyes and great sense of humor (be ready for the dad jokes 😂) made the experience even more enjoyable. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and cares about the people he’s guiding. If you get Nick as your tour guide, just know you are in very good hands. Highly recommend! The only drawback for this tour was the limited legroom on the bus. Felt very cramped at times. Especially, if you have long legs.
We had a great day. Our host were very informative and were great at helping us get the best pictures of the northern lights.
This was an incredible experience. Alan was a great tour guide. The temperatures were below -50 throughout many parts of the drive, but we felt totally safe and looked after throughout the entire 12 hour road trip. This was truly an adventure, and one that I'll remember for the rest of my life!
We went on this tour on 1/4/26. It was a long trip in a van that was packed to capacity. The back row in the van had 4 seats of which the outside two seats had big tire humps on the floor that limited the amount of floor space available for feet. The tour operator should not have filled the van to capacity. The two outer seats on the back row should not be considered as a seat. The drive was long and Nick did a great job of getting us there and back safely. We stopped several times on the way back to take pics of the Northern Lights which I really appreciated. We were glad that we went, but it was a very uncomfortable ride due to seating on the back row.
My family and I had a great time on this excursion. Nick was our guide and he took incredible care of us and our fellow travelers. He picked us up from our hotel in Fairbanks in a nice warm van which kept us cozy for the whole trip. We started by going t9 a gas station so he could get gas and we were able to pick up snacks and drinks to tide us over until dinner. He gave us the timeline for events and made great time. This is an incredible view of Alaska. Watching the terrain change as we approached the Arctic Circle was magical. My son and his girlfriend enjoyed it so much and got lots of great pictures and we now have another family memory to cherish. Thank you, Nick. My advice, bring water and drinks and so food to keep you sated since dinner won't be until after you have been to the Arctic Circle sign. And the food at the Yukon River Camp is so delicious. And the portions are Alaska sized. And they have nice clean bathrooms and a great gift shop. Highly recommend.
The tour guide Nick, was late around 30 Mins this morning. When we had dinner at Yukon river camp, Nick promised to drop us off at SpringHill Marriott after accepted me $20 then refused to commit his promise when we reached downtown of Fairbanks. He also spoke dirty words to us!
We are very disappointed that our trip was cancelled at the last minute. It was just an email cancellation at 10 PM for next morning's tour. The official reason is deteriorating weather with 14 inches of snow. But the weather forecast at Fairbanks, Livengood and Coldfoot were all partially sunny with NO snow. They appear cancel for other reasons e.g. not enough customers for the tour day. This tour company's communications are very poor. We called multiple times for questions before the trip. But no one ever answered their phone. Voice mails were never returned either.
I was collected at 9am. Temperatures were -45 to -25 throughout the tour. We rode, mostly in silence, for 3.5 hours until we reached the Dalton Highway sign where we took pictures. The scenery was nice. We stopped at a roadside mom and pop restaurant/souvenir shop on the way to the Arctic sign (another 2 hours) and on the way back. The return trip was a meal stop. Not really a lot of options. About half of us ate the snacks and food we brought with us. We didn't go to the spot under the pipeline I asked about. Nick said we'd stop on the way back but I knew that wouldn't happen because it would be too dark. And of course we didn't. I believe I paid about $250 for this very uneventful tour. I rode about 10 hours in a van with a few picture stops. Not for me. Nick was very pleasant but did not engage with us unless we asked a question. He jokingly asked if we had any funny stories to share. A rider said "Isn't that what you should be doing?" On the return trip, I put on my headphones and watched movies while the other 11 passengers for the most part slept or sat in silence. Thankfully there was wifi. I've taken several day long tours and was always offered at least a bottle of water. But in their defense, they definitely said bring your drinks and snacks-lol. Take this tour at your own risk....
Long day but well worth it . Our tour guide,Nick, was very friendly and helpful with picture taking . The Alaskan pipeline and the Dalton Highway are part of our history.
Amazing trip. Amazing day. The weather is beautiful, clear view of mountains and forests. Friendly guide helps a lot.
Driver and vehicle were very safe. Driver was attentive to any passenger needs. Trip was fun and interesting.
It was a long day but full of great memories. Pack extra layers and snacks for the road! The guide was awesome and knows a lot.
The tour was awesome. The guide was very kind and engaging during the long trip. He was knowledgeable and he provided us with a lot of information during the trip
This was definitely a long road trip, but in the end, standing at the Arctic Circle sign felt like checking something special off my bucket list. The drive itself was mostly just watching the scenery go by for hours. Our driver worked really hard the whole day. He handled the long hours on the road with patience and professionalism, and we could relax knowing we were in good hands. When we finally reached the Arctic Circle marker, it felt rewarding. We took our photos, enjoyed the moment, and appreciated how far we had come. Overall, it’s not the most exciting tour in terms of activities, but it’s a meaningful one. I also hope the company can replace the windshield or invest in a premium van because it was really a long time sitting for both driver and guests.
I had a wonderful time on this one-day trip! Our driver and guide, Nick, was truly fantastic. He shared lots of interesting history, explained everything clearly, and answered all our questions right away. He also helped us find great photo spots throughout the day. On the way back at night, Nick even pulled over when he noticed good northern lights and took photos for us. Thanks to him, I got my best Aurora view of my entire Fairbanks trip! He’s also a very skilled and experienced driver, and we felt completely safe the whole time. Really appreciated this tour and highly recommend it!
Our trip to the Arctic Circle was incredible, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Nick. He was knowledgeable, organized, and genuinely passionate about the region, which made every stop feel meaningful. Nick always made sure the group felt safe and comfortable, and he explained everything—from local history to small details about the landscape—in a way that was easy to enjoy. His good humor and flexibility, especially with the changing weather, made the experience even better. I highly recommend this tour, and especially having Nick as your guide. He truly helped turn a beautiful destination into an unforgettable adventure.
My family and I went on this tour, and my 10 and 12-year old didn’t complain once! Was it a hallelujah moment? Not exactly, it was because our tour operator, Nick, was amazing. He made the long drive engaging, and the hours flew by. He was a safe driver, knew the area inside and out, and shared a wealth of information. Crossing the Arctic Circle was unforgettable, but having Nick as our guide made the entire experience truly exceptional. Highly recommend! Just be prepared for a bumpy ride, bring snacks, and wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and it will be the time of your life.
All in all this was an experience of a lifetime. Our guide, Nick, did a superb job navigating us from start to finish-13 hours round trip-. The logistics of the trip were spelled out and Nick stuck with it. From the pipeline, Dalton Highway sign, Yukon River camp (delicious dinner), to the Artic Circle. There truly are no words to describe the breathtaking views of gorgeous terrain. Nothing compares to being immersed in the beautiful wintery landscape of Alaska. We saw a Marten and a lost pig! Lastly, our wonderful journey ended with some Aurora Borealis. Do not hesitate to book with this company. New reliable and comfortable vans. Safe drivers that take care of their group. Most important, they have WIFI!
What an awesome experience we had with Nick! It's a long ride & the roads are rough, but he was a great driver navigating the snowy/icy conditions & making it look easy! Being able to see so many changes in the landscape was amazing. Nick was fabulous helping with our mom (& all the other guests) as we had several snowy/icy spots to navigate getting out for breaks & food. We kept an eye out for wildlife, but the moose & bear were keeping to themselves on that snowy day. He also tried to get us some views of the Northern Lights on the way back by stopping at some great spots, but no luck. If you take the tour with him, ask him what BP stands for!
Very long drive, but beautiful scenery, and worth seeing the Arctic Circle at the end of the trip. Please make sure to bring food because you're not going to get any along the way!
Long day but fun. A lot of driving but Allan kept us informed. We even got a chance to take a few photos of the Aurora
Allan, the tour guide, was so nice, knowledgeable, and patient. He made sure we all had a great experience.
Was a very good experience know The life AND roads different. Just The van was not the best a little bite unconfortable.
This was awesome! Our driver, Aaron, was fantastic. We felt very safe with him driving even on the treacherous Dalton Hwy and he had lots of information to share. Stopping at the pipeline and the Yukon River were great and arriving at the Arctic Circle was surreal. We had dinner at the Yukon River Camp which was very good and even saw Moose and some Northern lights on the way back. Would definitely recommend this trip.
It is a long ride but worth it. We saw a lot of the remote alaska. Our guide took extra time to show us the northern lights on our way home as well.
Alan is such a thoughtful guide. He seems to already know your concerns and often has answers before you even ask. He genuinely takes care of everyone on the tour. The van has Wi-Fi, which makes the long drive more comfortable, and although pickup is from one location, Alan kindly drops guests back at their hotels at the end. Seeing the Arctic Circle was surreal. Alan went out of his way to make it special, even adding a little fun when taking photos. We truly appreciated his care and attention, and it made the whole experience unforgettable.
Well worth the 12 hour tour!!! The scenery is amazing and Alan was a great tour guide!!! Dinner was good at the Yukon cafe too!!
I would suggest not taking this tour. For one thing, the legroom for a 12 hour tour was extremely cramped, and my knees were rubbing into the row ahead. Also, there was no tour guide providing information about the sites, wildlife, history, or geology of the region we were visiting or passing through. While we did have a very skilled driver on challenging roads, we were simply told this is our stop and to read the signs when we arrived at a stop.
