Excellent experience and while we really enjoyed it, our guide Ron made it an amazing experience. He greeted us with a warm smile and was very knowledgeable and kind. His vehicle was very clean and equipped with great winter tires. While the conditions were treacherous at times, I felt completely comfortable with his driving. He provided snacks and hot beverages and offered to take pictures for us. I loved that he offers small group tours, max 6 guests. The Dalton HWY was a cool experience and making it to the Arctic Circle was a bucket list item for us. I really can’t imagine a better tour operator for this experience. A++

Amazing and spectacular once in a lifetime adventure! Ron is knowledgeable, professional, patient and kind. He picked us up and dropped us off at our remote lodging. With a 2 am return time, this was a very nice service. This was the only time we got to see the aurora during our visit. So, we were thrilled for the entire experience. Yes, the road is treacherous and pot-hole filled in some areas, but Ron’s tour bus is quite comfortable and he doesn’t overbook the bus. Plenty of room for spreading out. I feel quite fortunate to have found the Midnight Sky tour!
I traveled solo and joined this tour on September 20, and it was a highlight of my Alaska trip. Our guide, Ron, was wonderful — friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. Over the 15-hour journey he shared stories about Alaska's culture, history, and economy, answered everyone's questions, and kept the conversation lively the whole way. We didn't see the aurora due to the weather, but the Dalton Highway scenery was unique and the day was thoroughly enjoyable. Ron even shared his photos with us afterwards. Highly recommended!
My trip north to the Arctic Circle with Midnight Sky Adventures was a great experience from start to finish. It was my first and probably last trip north of the Circle. Ron, the owner/operator, made it a pleasure by "breaking the ice" with early conversations among the 5 passengers in the group. He was prompt, organized, knowledgeable, pleasant, and prepared. He spoke when necessary without trying to fill space between landmarks. The tour van was well-equipped and supplied for the 13.5-hour round trip. I'm satisfied that I received good value for my money.
Ron is an absolute amazing guide! He is very knowledgeable about the pipeline, the region, the roads, and the stops! He took such good care of us! The van was very clean and comfortable, he provided an assortment of beverages and snacks. This was a small group experience and it was worth every penny. The weather didn’t cooperate so we didn’t see the northern lights, but that didn’t diminish the experience. We would definitely book this trip or any other that Ron is spearheading! Thanks so much Ron for such a wonderful adventure! Your personality and ability to make everyone feel valued will take you along way in life! Jim and Bev from Oklahoma
This was a great adventure! Ron picked us up at our hotel in his new raised roof all wheel 13 passenger van. The difference from other tours is that even though his van holds 13 passengers he only takes a max of six which makes for a more roomy and comfortable experience on this long ride. He also offered snacks, water, gator aid, and hot beverages complimentary.. Ron is a wealth of information which he shares during the trip. We stopped at the Alaska Pipeline, the Yukon River, a trading post/restaurant, and the artic circle. He was also always on the lookout for wildlife. We chased the aurara but cloud cover prevented us from seeing it. The scenery was amazing! We loved this tour!
Had a great Arctic Circle tour! We were unlucky with the weather and couldn't see the Northern Lights, but our guide Ron was amazing. He is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and took great care of everyone throughout the long drive. His safe driving and excellent commentary made the whole trip fantastic. Highly recommend Ron to anyone visiting Fairbanks!
A wonderful experience with Ron to Arctic circle from Fairbanks! Ron was an excellent tour guide and driver to take a small group of us to Arctic circle in his van on Arpil 4th. He takes only 6 passengers at a time and the smal group tour gives you a very personal experience as opposed to 14-15 people tour. We had enough space to put our bags and move around in the van which was a very positive experience for a long 14 hour trip. Ron gave us plenty of time to see the attractions and take pictures on our way to Arctic circle through Dalton highway. He stopped our van to watch the northern lights when they appeared on the sky on our way back from Arctic circle. He helped us to take pictures and allowed us to spend enough time to enjoy the natural wonder! He carries a satellite phone during the trip to manage emergencies and being a very safe driver, he coordinates with the oil tankers and truck transporters on Dalton Highway to make a safe passage. Overall our experience was excellent during this trip and will definitely recommend Ron for Arctic circle tour.
Our tour guide, Ron, was excellent. He was well-versed about the Dalton Highway, the Arctic Circle, and the Northern Lights. Ron explained the significance of the Dalton as we rode along. His discussions allowed room for engagement, whereby it became a mini Q&A session throughout the trip. He followed the above approach with each segment of our trip from the Dalton to the Arctic Circle, to searching for the Northern Lights, which was a success.
I had the absolute best time taking the tour. The journey was form 12PM to 3AM, and I was very skeptical having to sit in the van for a long time, but trust me, time flew by. Was picked up on time and to begin with the van was not crowded, we had ample space to switch places, had tons of stop from time to time to go out and stretch. The guide was explaining stuff throughout the journey, even on the ride back, made sure we were all comfortable with the temperature, gave us free snacks and water as well. On our way back, we stopped by for taking pictures of the auroras, even though he didn't have to, he made sure sure everyone was okay with stopping and we took plenty of pictures. Safety wise, the van was in very good condition, we had satellite phones, he even had a Starlink. He did not even accept a tip. I am telling you, you will not regret choosing this experience. He was family to me!!
We had an incredible experience on Midnight Sky’s Arctic Circle & Northern Lights Tour, easily a 5-star outing from start to finish. Our driver, Ron, was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, and you could tell he genuinely cared about the experience of everyone on the tour. One detail that really stood out was how consistently he communicated upcoming stops and bio breaks along the route, something that often gets overlooked on other tours, but makes a big difference over a long day/night. What truly set this tour apart, though, was the small group size. It created a much more personal and flexible experience. We were able to pull over for photos whenever opportunities presented themselves and even take advantage of a few unique, unplanned moments along the way. It’s hard to imagine getting that same experience on a large 40-passenger bus where timing and logistics limit flexibility. If (or more realistically, when) we return, we’ll absolutely be booking with Midnight Sky again to try more of their tours. Pro tip: Book directly through Midnight Sky’s website, third-party sites take a sizable commission from the tour operator, and going direct helps support the business while often giving you better communication. Highly recommend.
We had a great excursion with our guide, Ron. He was very knowledgeable about Alaska in general as well as the Arctic Circle. He let us know what to expect all along the way, took photos of our group for us, made some delicious hot chocolate, and even offered a sledding saucer for a ride down the hill at the Yukon River boat ramp. We didn’t see a lot of wildlife this time of year, but did see some amazing landscapes. And since fewer than 1% of humans get to the Arctic Circle, we are now officially “one percenters” of the best kind!
A fantastic experience! Ron was our excellent guide, and he gave us some history, science, engineering, flora and fauna, atmospheric, and local info, all while on a picturesque drive into the interior of Alaska! We had quite a few stops to see the changing landscape and stretch our legs. It was cold, so definitely dress for weather. After we hit the Arctic Circle, we chased the Northern Lights on our way back. Ron used an uplink to periodically see the light forecast, and we were able to stop for pictures a few times. The lights were amazing! This was my favorite tour from my trip, and I highly recommend it, especially for those game for a little adventure... 100% worth taking! Thanks Ron!
Wonderful tour of remote Alaska along the Dalton Highway. Even though it was about 14 hours, it was a comfortable ride with enough stops along the way to the Arctic Circle and back. Ron was a great guide who provided interesting commentary. The Alaskan wilderness was beautiful and we saw the Northern lights on the way back to Fairbanks.
Really beautiful and worth visiting Really appreciate Ron for his incredible knowledge and planning
Our guide Ron was exceptional! He only runs small groups so everyone gets their personal attention. He is very energetic, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about what he’s doing! We had a fun trip, saw beautiful northern lights, and Ron helped us take a lot of nice.pictures! The experience was absolutely amazing!
Ron is clearly knowledgeable about the Northern Lights and shared several cool apps he used to track the likelihood and strength of the lights during the drive down. We were able to get some great photos on a night where the lights weren’t particularly strong.
Ron is a delightful guide. The vehicle is new and comfortable, with ample space and window access for everyone. He planned the itinerary thoughtfully and included a grocery stop in preparation for the long drive. Unfortunately, due to a hazardous chemical spill on the highway, the tour had to be cancelled after the first pipeline viewpoint. Ron handled the situation professionally, communicated clearly, offered full refunds, and even redirected others to a Fairbanks downtown tour. I look forward to returning to Fairbanks and rebooking with Ron under better circumstances.
Ron, the tour provider, is a knowledgeable and professional guide. Despite my attempts to join two tours that were canceled on the way due to road conditions, he made prudent safety-based decisions. He communicates effectively with road services and truck drivers via radio, prioritizing tour safety, especially given the challenging winter weather in Fairbanks. His tour consists of small parties of 7 to 8 people, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere among the tour members.
I joined the Arctic Circle tour during my solo trip to Alaska, and I feel very lucky to have had Ron as my guide. Even before the tour, he proactively reached out to confirm pickup details, which gave me peace of mind—especially important when traveling alone. Throughout the journey, his explanations were engaging and insightful. He has deep knowledge of Alaska’s geography, culture, and history, and even with the long hours of driving, I never felt bored. The time passed quickly because there was always something interesting to learn. His vehicle is equipped with a satellite phone and radio system that communicates with nearby oncoming vehicles, which significantly increases safety on remote roads. His driving on snowy and icy conditions is calm and steady, making me feel completely secure. The itinerary was well paced, each seat had its own charging port, and every detail was thoughtfully prepared. I joined three different tours, and this tour is the highlight of my trip. If I return to Fairbanks, I would absolutely choose Ron again.
Our guide Ron made a great job.He shared with us lots of informations and story about history and nature. He was highly experienced to help catch aurora. His friendly and hepful personality made an extra yalue to the tour.
Ron is an exceptional tour guide and true professional extremely well prepared, properly equipped, and clearly experienced with the real world challenges that can come with remote Alaskan roads. Safety is his top priority both on and off the road, and his risk assessment is excellent. In my view, he’s easily one of the best tour guides you can book in Fairbanks, period. Ron is equipped with the kind of gear that actually matters when conditions get serious: satellite phone, radio communications for navigating treacherous routes, and top tier snow tires. His driving skills in snowy and icy conditions are outstanding calm, controlled, and clearly backed by experience. He also plans ahead in a way that immediately inspires confidence. He carries blankets, food, water, and other essential supplies, and it’s obvious he thinks through nearly every scenario. This was my first tour in Alaska, and I genuinely feel fortunate that Ron was our guide. He consistently goes the extra mile to make sure the tour is safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone. If I return to Fairbanks, I would book with Ron again without hesitation and honestly, I’d exclusively book his tours because I trust him to do everything possible to ensure the experience goes well for the entire group.
Fantastic experience! We saw moose, arctic lights and snow mountains on dalton highway. Guideman is nice and experienced! 冲就完了 大哥户外巨佬人还好,对dalton非常了解,看见驼鹿,还带我追极光,给大哥打call
We signed up for a little adventure with Ron into the arctic zone with many stops along the journey into a visual wonderland culminating into the northern lights .As important as the visuals given it was close to 500 miles and over 13 hours was Ron himself who is a gifted guide with his knowledge, insight and ability to make these visuals come to life over the course of this value for money experience ..This really is a unique capture of Alaska and not only the northern lights but deep into a wilderness you may only do once. We thoroughly recommend Midnight Sky Adventures to give you the very best experience and importantly to learn something and feel safe in the hands of the driver .. which I must say in the frozen icy roads is important. In Ron we trusted 💯 Memories for life and learnt plenty from our low base and met a champion bloke in the process. Well done and an Alaskan highlight in our 5 days in Fairbanks.
This was an incredible experience! Our guide Ron was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of great info along the trip. The drive is very long but we made many stops along the way to stretch our legs and take photos. The views of the landscape heading up to the Arctic circle sign was so beautiful and otherworldly. The van was very comfortable and we all had plenty of room. I highly recommend this tour and would absolutely do it again if ever back in the Fairbanks area.
I had an unforgettable adventure traveling to the Arctic Circle. Ron was an outstanding guide who was knowledgeable, engaging, and an excellent driver in truly extreme conditions. I loved learning about Alaska’s interior, from its wildlife and history to the harsh climate that shapes life in the region. The aurora display was absolutely breathtaking, transforming the snow-covered landscape into something genuinely otherworldly. Braving temperatures around –30 degrees was challenging, but completely worth it for an experience like this. I highly recommend booking a tour with Midnight Sky Adventures. This trip offered a deep appreciation for the beauty of Alaska’s interior, both on the ground and in the sky, and is something I will remember for a lifetime.
It was a great experience. We was lucky to see the beautiful aurora and knowledge about Alaska. Ron's guide is professional . Recommend it.
This was the best tour! The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and I really enjoyed chatting with him and finding out all about our surroundings and drove with care and expertise. I would hire our guide again to drive us around.
We had an absolutely amazing aurora tour with Ron. From start to finish, he was incredibly attentive, especially considering how long and packed the trip was. Ron is extremely knowledgeable about Alaska, and every time we asked a question, he seemed to know everything—you can truly tell he loves what he does. He went above and beyond by providing hot drinks and snacks, accommodating all of our photo requests, and even bringing a tripod so we could properly capture photos of the northern lights at night. He was such a delight to be around and somehow kept his energy up even late into the night as we chased the aurora. Ron is also a very safe driver, which made us feel completely comfortable the entire time, even while driving on the Dalton Highway. We were a group of four girls and felt very safe and at ease throughout the whole experience. Despite the packed schedule, he never made us feel rushed. This was truly an unforgettable experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommend booking a tour with Ron!
This tour was awesome. Ron, our tour guide, was very accommodating, informative and knowledgable about the area. We made several stops along the way and was never rushed. The trip started out as a nice sunny day but the further we drove north the uglier it got due to the Ice fog that engulfed the road and covered the sun. I started to worry that we wouldn’t see anything in the sky but Ron stayed very optimistic and kept our hopes high. As we got to our destination the sky had cleared up a bit and we hung out for a while and slowly in the distance the lights started to appear. Ron used some basic items and took some great pictures of our small group. We made several stops on the way back to Fairbanks and still got home a little earlier than scheduled which I was okay with. I do like the fact that the tour started at 12 and not 2. That 2 hour difference makes a big difference. Also it was great to be in a small group of 4 people and best part is that Ron picked us up and dropped us off at our AirB&B.
Excellent experience. Rob, the guide-driver, is super professional Explain what you are seeing, tell anecdotes, promote coexistence in the group, help with photos... Everything on time, everything perfectly coordinated I recommend it 100000%
