This was our first time in Anchorage, and the tour was the perfect way to see the city and find fun things to do. The snacks and food we enjoyed were delicious. We highly recommend this tour for any first-timers. Luke was amazing, has so much knowledge and great recommendations!

Itinerary
At this brief but memorable stop, travelers will get a glimpse into the world’s busiest seaplane base — a uniquely Alaskan sight! Watch floatplanes take off and land on the water as your guide shares insight into the vital role aviation plays in everyday life across the state. Surrounded by scenic mountain backdrops and the hum of aircraft engines, it’s a perfect photo opportunity and a fascinating peek into Alaska’s bush pilot culture.
This scenic and historic stop offers a striking view of Anchorage’s past and present. Learn about the powerful 1964 Good Friday Earthquake — one of the most powerful ever recorded — and its lasting impact on the city and landscape. Walk along a short, forested path with interpretive signs, take in panoramic views of Cook Inlet, and spot the geological scars still visible today. It’s a quiet yet powerful reminder of Alaska’s dynamic natural forces, all set against a stunning natural backdrop.
Take in sweeping views of Cook Inlet, the Chugach Mountains, and—on clear days—majestic Denali in the distance. This bluffside viewpoint offers a peaceful moment to soak in Anchorage’s natural beauty. It’s a great spot for photos, spotting floatplanes overhead, or watching the tides roll in. With its wide-open skies and panoramic scenery, Point Woronzof is a refreshing and memorable stop along the tour route.
Experience Anchorage through its local flavors with a curated selection of food stops around town, all enjoyed from the comfort of our van. Each stop offers a taste of the city’s culinary scene, from longtime favorites to hidden gems. While the specific tastings may vary, every stop is chosen to highlight the diverse and creative food culture of Anchorage. Along the way, you’ll enjoy local stories, scenic views, and a relaxed, flavorful journey through Alaska’s largest city.

The food stops were genuine local gems, the sightseeing was fun and informative. It was a nice way to see a lot with limited time in the city.
This was way too long a tour, and the food we experienced was substandard. Not a good value for the cost.
Chris was very experienced and knowledgeable. He provided a lot of useful and unique information about Anchorage and many other things. He was also a very safe driver. We highly enjoyed the tour. Would very much recommend.
Chris was a great host and storyteller. Learned a lot about Anchorage and Alaska. This is a must do in my opinion. You will not be disappointed.
Chris showed us the entire anchorage area, told us great history and stories, and fed us wonderful local food! Gave us plenty of suggestions for our visit in Alaska and Anchorage. Would highly recommend this trip to get a local feel for the area!!
We had the pleasure of having Chris for our tour guide. He was outstanding! This was the last tour we did on a 12 day Alaskan vacation that started in Vancouver BC. After our cruise we arrived in Anchorage. We were picked up on time at the set location, which was very easy to find. We visited 3 food locations, each one was unique local and very good. Chris was very knowable about the history of all three locations. In between the amazing food stops he took us on a sight seeing tour of Anchorage. I can only say positive things about the tour. Chris is born and raised in Alaska and his love for the state and showing others its beauty is second to none. Thank you for an amazing end to our vacation. I highly recommend!
The food options were not good. It was fried chicken with a milkshake, a pastry, ice cream, and one salmon taco. For the money it should have been better food and less desserts. For the high price I was expecting higher quality and more food.
Trip Advisor repeatedly is asking me to edit my review. It was awful and a complete waste of money. 2ice team stops, some undercooked chicken and ONE TACO which our driver called dinner. We heard 10 times more about how great he was then anything about Anchorage
This tour was so much more than I expected from the description! The food was delicious, we especially loved the fried chicken and milkshakes at Lucky Wishbone, and the smoked salmon tacos at El Greengos. The sightseeing portion of the tour included multiple scenic viewpoints with mountain and water views. Bring a camera and binoculars if you can! Our guide, Luke, was so friendly and knowledgeable. We were grateful for additional food recommendations for later in our trip!
Chris provided an enjoyable narrative as we drove to four scenic spots in anchorage and we enjoyed some light food at four local spots.
Chris is great - had great informative conversation throughout the tour. We really enjoyed seeing the seaplanes. Multiple stops at good food spots, with great reputations. This particular tour is not a downtown walking food tour, it is a much wider perspective of Anchorage and the areas around Anchorage!
Chris was great, very knowledgeable Stops were top notch Group was a good size Enjoyed the chicken stop
What a great day we had with Chef Luke! This food tour combined history, sightseeing and great local restaurants. Chef Luke is a great storyteller and kept us entertained between food stops for both sweet and savory treats. We feel like we really got to see and experience Anchorage. This tour is a great value and must do if you are in Anchorage.
Chef Luke made this tour amazing! Took us all over Anchorage. The food was amazing. Especially the smoked salmon, ice cream, and pasties. He is a native so he has so much knowledge. Saw lots of wildlife as well
We had a good morning (8:00-12:00) tour with Luke. He was very knowledgeable about Anchorage and very entertaining. The tour provided a pretty good balance between food tasting and sightseeing. The first food stop provided a very large serving. I would have preferred smaller portions, more sample size in order to add one or two more tastings. The tour did serve as an overview of Anchorage and gave us ideas for planning our time there.
Great tour! Chef Luck was amazing and so informative! Great personality and fun stories. The food was great too!
I have taken many food tours and this one was one of the best. Our tour guide was so informative. The restaurants were well chosen. I recommend this tour.
Luke did a great job with fun facts and great historical facts.
We met our guide Luke at our pickup spot along with other tour members. There were about 8 of us in total. The tour started around 12:30 so do not eat anything as there will be plenty of good food along the way. Luke is also a chef so he has insider knowledge of where the good food is located. He was also born in Alaska so he has the experiences that create wonderful stories about the places we visited and the foods we were eating. Luke is very engaging with a good sense of humor and we all enjoyed the commentary and the food.
Chef Luke’s food/sightseeing tour was exceptional. Luke is literally larger than life — a big guy, huge funny personality, and a fount of stories. There is absolutely no way my wife and I would have found these wonderful restaurants if not for this tour. The food was amazing (what a breakfast sandwich! And the salmon tacos. . . ) and we received great recommendations on gifts, other restaurants and other points of interest. Don’t forget to make him sound out his one of a kind moose call. Highly recommended.
We had a day to kill in Anchorage before our redeye back home and spending the day with our guide (and co-owner of the company) Chris was well worth it. We had our choice of 5-7 different places to stop. He took us to some great local eateries that we wouldn’t have found otherwise. Not only was the food we partook in of the great comfort variety, but it was comforting knowing we were supportibg locally run businesses. As we ate, Chris shared fun facts and stories about each establishment as well as Alaskan lore (be sure to ask him about his bear encounter). You can’t go wrong with this tour of Anchorage!
Delicious food and very comprehensive introduction to anchorage.
We had a fantastic time on the Sightseeing & Food Tour! Luke, our guide and an Alaska native, shared so much interesting history and local knowledge about Anchorage and his beautiful home state. His passion for Alaska really made the tour engaging and enjoyable. He also introduced us to several fun and delicious local eateries that we may not have found on our own. The van was clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned, making for a relaxing ride between stops. If you’re looking for a great way to see Anchorage, learn about the area, and enjoy some tasty local food, I highly recommend this tour!
Excellent guided tour by Luke who was born and raised in Alaska. All meals and snacks were to local small family owned businesses and were paid for by the tour. Amazing food!! Beautiful scene and lots of stories and descriptions of the area.
We had a great time. Chris was awesome and provided a lot of interesting information on Alaska and Anchorage.
A very nice tour with Chris. He is extremely knowledgeable about Anchorage and Alaskan history, culture, and culinary delights. We made 4 food stops at iconic but informal places with a slight bend towards sweet but also some savory. Interspersed with food stops were stops with stunning views of the city, local points of interest, and surrounding mountain ranges. As a lifelong native of Alaska, his stories are authentic and straight from the heart. Highly recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed!
We've been on walking food tours before, but this one was in a van, and we went all over the Anchorage area. Very informative. Great food. I would recommend.
The tour was disappointing from both a sightseeing tour and a food tasting tour. We stopped first at a long-standing restaurant and had a fried chicken leg and an ice cream sample. We then stopped for a pastry and more ice cream and ended with a cod taco that had very little fish in it. We drove by the airport and saw a couple of moose which were the highlight of the tour. The tour operator talked more about himself than the sights. I would not do it again.
Do not recommend as the tour is just not worth the high price. And the foods featured in the three food stops were not really "Alaskan". We started the day at 8am at Waffles and Whatnot (Food Tour Stop 1), a local establishment featured on a popular Food Network Show. While we were directed to sit down, our tour guide (Chef Luke) brought food to the table (we were not asked about our preferences, allergies or given any choices). The waffle sandwiches brought to the table were massive and overflowing with melted cheese and bacon. The plate was so full and the waffles so gorged out, I immediately lost appetite. While this may have been a good choice for the last stop after a full morning of hiking or other activity, it was simply too much for 8am. I could eat none of it. Sandwich cost: $15. We then drove around town, driving around the back of the airport and seeing Earthquake Park (from the van). Tour guide drove us to a lookout point nearby Lake Hood that had porto-potties - I asked if we would also have an opportunity to stop at an indoor bathroom and guide indicated that yes we could do so at our next stop...which was a grocery store in a strip mall. After this, we headed to a bakery (Food Tour Stop 2), where the guide informed us that we could order one thing off the menu. I ordered two cookies b/c I at this point I couldn't believe we'd paid $200 for the tour only to be limited to a single bakery item. Total Baked Goods Cost: Less than $10. After this, we drove outside of town of bit (along Turnagain Arm) and were able to stop at a few scenic lookouts. These were nice, and the views were spectacular (on this clear sunny day). The guide was knowledgeable and shared quite a bit of information along the way. The last stop of the day was El Greengo’s for tacos (Food Tour Stop 3), where (again) the guide ordered for us and each of us was allowed 2 tacos and a beverage. There were halibut and salmon options for the tacos, and food was good. Tacos cost: less than $20. Overall, I left disappointed and quite surprised given all the high reviews. If I'd known that the food tour portion of this would include a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a waffle + 2 tacos + 1 cookie, I would not have booked.
We had a wonderful day with Luke. He gave us a well informed and relaxed sightseeing tour of Anchorage. We also visited a few eating establishments: The Lucky Wishbone, one of the first restaurants here. We finished with the most delicious salmon tacos.
This is the WORST tour money I have spent. We had no authentic Alaskan food only sweets, fried chicken and a street taco at the end. Guide rambled incessantly for hours.
Our tour guide had a great personality, but some of the food stops weren’t uniquely Anchorage. We didn’t see much wildlife on the tour, but it a good drive around town and the inlet, listening to someone who is a true Alaskan.
Had the BEST time with Chef Luke !! He really knows the area and the BEST food places to eat !! We learned SO MUCH about Anchorage !!!
Chef Luke is a great guide. We had rainy weather which was a bummer but we didn’t need sunshine for this tour. It was a good mix of humor, great food, and other sights. We had a few disruptions that were out of everyone’s control and the guide pivoted well. We saw great things that we wouldn’t have otherwise seen. Thanks for a great time!
Really good food and great sightseeing tour. Really good portion sizes and very filling. Our Tour guide Chris was very informative and friendly.
Amazing food and experience- thanks to Chef Luke! Tour starts with award winning diner and we were eating great food throughout- pastries, ice cream, and ended up with cod tacos!
Chris had a plethora of information, awesome stories to tell, answers to our questions and took us to some great stops. Plenty to see and eat.
We weren’t sure what to expect, but let me tell you, we were not disappointed!!! Luke, our guide, was awesome and took us to some restaurants and a bakery that were amazing!!! The food was delicious and the tour went all over Anchorage so we got to see many aspects of the city. We chose the tour via van, which was perfect because it rained the entire time of our tour. My 13 year old grandson and I took this tour, and Luke kept us entertained and told us stories/facts about Anchorage and Alaska. I appreciate that Luke interacted with my grandson and made him feel part of the tour. If you’re ever in Anchorage, be sure to take this tour; you’ll be glad you did.
The tour has very little to do with good food. The emphasis is on driving to see wildlife. This of course is hit or miss, and was a miss for our group. Our guide was very impressed with himself. He did not have the group introduce ourselves, he only wanted to go on about himself. The food: first stop for milk shake + fried chicken ok, a very delicious bakery, more ice cream and last stop for fish taco — was terrible. At nearly $200 / person was EXTREMELY disappointed. I do NOT recommend. Later that day tried one of the places recommended by guide and that was not good either. The van was comfortable. This tour has potential but was a miss for us. We booked through viator.com. We have booked other tours through them and had great experiences.
So much fun! It was great to see the highlights of Anchorage (a lovely place) and to snack our way through the city with some delicious treats. More food than I was expecting!
Tour of hidden gems in Anchorage given by a local with inside knowledge. Great food and sightseeing spots. Guide gave some historic facts and told funny stories.
Luke was an amazing tour guide! We had a great time and learned a lot about Alaska on the driving food tour.
Anchorage has many yummy locations to enjoy delicious bites. My favorite on this tour was the Lucky Wishbone Diner. The fried chicken drumstick, hushpuppies with honey butter, and the peach milkshake were so good, and the people were so welcoming! Benji's Bakery & Cafe, and él Green-Go's were tasty too. We also visited Motley Moo Creamery, which had yummy ice cream, but I actually prefer Wild Scoops on 5th Avenue. Try the Baked Alaska Cone with wild blueberry ice cream!!! Anchorage has some beautiful scenery, especially when the weather is nice. Alaska gets quite a bit of rainfall, so pack your raincoat. Moose are abundant, but sometimes elusive, so don't be too disappointed if you don't see one on this tour. Our driver, Luke, had wonderful stories about growing up in, and living in Alaska. He was very nice, funny too. Ask your guide to go to Beluga Point when the tide is not low, if possible. Unfortunately there were no Beluga Whales for us to see with a very low tide. That was disappointing, but we don't control the weather or the tides. It is a beautiful area, and the nearby waterfall is lovely. Seeing Lake Hood Seaplane Base, and many of the brightly painted floatplanes was interesting. However, I think it would be nice to see more sites on this tour. If the weather had not been rather rainy and cold, we might have seem more sites. For example, Anchorage has many beautiful murals that are worthy of photography. It was very sweet of Luke to drop us off at our hotel. He is a very nice guide, and loves sharing Anchorage with guests.
Excellent experience! Great guide, wonderful food spots and awesome sightseeing with lots of Alaska knowledge
Great food. Went to places locals like. Wonderful personal stories about living in Alaska including being chased by a bear.
It was excellent. Chef Luke was a great guide. The mixing of sightseeing and eating was unique and informative.
It is okay. The stops are underwhelming. The food was good, but it wasn’t anything special. Make sure your other tours don’t stop at the same places. There were repeats on my other tour.
Tour guide and the drive around Anchorage was great. The food was okay. Was expecting more than just three deserts (small milkshake, cookie and an ice cream cone) and two small portions of pan fried chicken and a fish taco. Not enough food in this tour for the price paid.
Great experience!! Our guide Chris was great and very informative. Would highly recommend this tour!!
