Anchorage Helicopter Flight With Glacier Landing (1 Hour)

This was such a unique and fun experience. We had the best guide that was super knowledgeable and kind. Truly a once in a lifetime experience- my sister and I would recommend it to anyone that has the chance to do it!!

Wow! What a great flight with Kyle. We flew into places we never would see otherwise. From pickup at the lodge to the drive back, everything was smooth and first rate. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Experience — 100% Recommend! We had an absolutely AMAZING experience with Alpine Air Alaska! This was a total last-minute decision while we were in Girdwood, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our entire Alaska trip. Five of us did the one-hour helicopter tour with a glacier landing, and it was incredible. The helicopter ride itself was gorgeous—we spotted moose and mountain goats from the air and had unbelievable views of the mountains and glaciers. Landing on Lake George Glacier, walking around, taking pictures, and even drinking fresh glacier water was such a cool experience! The staff and our guides were fantastic from start to finish. They were also incredibly helpful with timing our flight around the changing weather conditions, and we ended up with an absolutely beautiful day on the glacier. This was definitely a splurge, but SO worth it. We almost didn't book it, and we're so glad we did. A true bucket-list Alaska experience and something our family will never forget. 100% recommend Alpine Air Alaska!

We talked with a representative and got all the details on what to expect and were told to check out past reviews and photos. The office staff was friendly and we asked a lot of questions. This was a splurge experience and we were so excited. While everyone else seemed to get a “glacier” landing we got a dirt and rock landing on the mountain. VERY DISAPPOINTED and the company NEVER responded to our emails after the experience, not a single follow up. Just know you could pay for a glacier landing and not actually have a glacier landing and they do nothing about it. Once they have your money they don’t care.

We had a great experience!!! We had a group of 4 in two helicopters. Very safe and fun. the pilots were recently married so we enjoyed being a part of their first joint trip.

We actually took the 90 minute tour with 2 landings, and it was awesome! We took another glacier helicopter tour with our family back in 2004 with a different company, which was also quite nice, but this one was even better. Our pilot, Eddie, had a great deal of experience (formerly as a Coast Guard rescuer). In addition to some great scenery from above (including a bear with cubs and a pair of moose), we landed and walked upon a gorgeous glacier and in front of the stunning “Blue Wall.” This first experience during our week-long stay in the Girdwood area was unforgettable and a highlight af our amazing week in Alaska!

Sophia was an excellent Pilot! And it was so impressive to look at the mountains and glaciers from up in the air. 100% would do it again!

If you’re reading this review, then you may be contemplating whether to do this tour. Do it! It will easily become the most memorable part of your entire trip. We were initially scheduled for the dog sledding tour, but the weather had different plans. We were given the option to do the glacier landing tour instead (different flight path than the dog sledding tour) and we are so glad we did. Words can’t describe the natural beauty. No photo filters here. Pure white snow, glacial blue water and moose along the tree banks in their beautiful, natural element. Even our teenage boys were in awe. Beyond the tour itself, the entire team at Alpine Air is fantastic- from the shuttle service, the amazing office staff, to the very skilled pilots, you’re in the best hands from start to finish. We had very heavy 4th of July traffic getting to the air field. However, Dana, our shuttle driver, was so patient. If you’re going to be in traffic, she’s the most positive, delightful person to be with, extremely knowledgeable too. The office staff— Rachel, Cooper and Carmen— are top notch. They were in constant communication with us while working their magic to provide us a different flight tour and time while we were working our way through the traffic. The skilled pilots, Eddie and Jesse, were the best. We had a few apprehensive flyers with us, but they made everyone feel so comfortable the entire time—incredibly smooth flight and landing. Their insight on the glacier formations will leave you wanting to explore even more. Truly an amazing experience you will never forget.

The entire team was great. Special call out to our pilot Kyle, note only was he a great pilot, but an awesome tour guide who went above and beyond to show us wildlife, give us insight and snap some photos of us. I was against this tour due to the price but my wife insisted and she was 1000% right. Once in a life time experience with a top notch professional crew!

This experience was a dream, there is no way it could have been real. We went on a helicopter to a glacier! Eddie was our pilot and host and I think we might have fallen in love with him. I was very anxious since I had never been in a helicopter and he made me feel so safe! He gave us a great tour and even found a mousse for us to look at in the brush. The best thing was landing on an actual glacier!! It was just 3 people on this ancient piece of ice. He offered to take photos and he put cleats on our shoes for us so we wouldn't slip. He was incredible! Honestly the entire staff was helpful and really encouraged me to try it. We were originally there to do dog sledding but the weather got bad so we had a choice to forget the entire thing or go on a helicopter. If it wasn't for their encouragement I would have missed one of the most significant experiences of my life.

This is one for the bucket list !! We spent an amazing time with Pilot Eddie who was professional knowledgeable and great fun. This was a life changing experience landing and exploring the Prince William Glacier and one I will never forget. The photo's and videos will bear testament to the experience. Amazing experience! There is no better way to get the best views of the beauty of Alaska, and get to see glaciers up close than from a helicopter. The staff and pilot were amazing, and the views speak for themselves. Do yourself a favor and splurge on this once in a lifetime experience!

I went up yesterday with Alaska Air for the helicopter ride and glacier landing. We ended landing ext to, then walking up in to a glacier tunnel all to ourselves with clear blue ice visible for feet into the glacier. Absolutely stunning. Perfect weather, perfect pilot and perfect experience.

We had an amazing tour with our pilot Jackson. He was knowledgeable and kind. Highlight was the second landing on a frozen lake with an iceberg with an ice cave. The ice was so blue!

This was the most fabulous, and incredibly beautiful helicopter trip we have ever done. Minding blowing beauty and expanses. The ice tunnel was a crazy and breathtaking blue frozen wave. Did not seem real ….. what a great timing to see it before is does away with the glacier. The pilot Jackson was excellent- laid back, funny and very skilled. What an unbelievable experience! We were a little bit worried that we would be disappointed because our trip was too early in the season to see the blue melt pools on the glaciers, but our pilot, Ryan, took us to explore an ice cave he recently found at the Lake George Glacier, and it was magical. Ryan was full of information and answered all of our questions. The flight through the mountain pass was breathtaking, and Ryan pointed out the wildlife and heliskiers that we would not have spotted without his help. Our shuttle driver, Rachel, was delightful and clearly loves Alaska and sharing it with visitors. All of the staff at Alpine Air Alaska were wonderful to deal with from the moment we booked our excursion to the time we were dropped back off at our hotel. Ten out of Ten experience that I would highly recommend and say is worth every penny.

We had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish, thanks to Kris (our driver) and Jess (our helicopter pilot). Helicopter with Jess The 90 minute helicopter ride included two unforgettable landings, one on a glacier and one on a ridge. Flying into the mountains and seeing the deep blue glaciers up close was breathtaking. Jess was the perfect pilot. She flew so smoothly, explained what we were seeing, answered our questions, and also gave us time to simply enjoy the silence and scenery. She even helped us spot a black bear, a moose, and a mountain goat. One of my favorite memories was filling my bottle with fresh glacier water, something I will never forget. Drive with Kris Our driver Kris was a true gentleman. He shared stories from a native Alaskan perspective, including bear encounters and local history, and even recited a poem connected to a local school. On the way back from Girdwood he stopped so we could take photos of the scenery, which was such a thoughtful touch. His company made the drive feel like an important part of the adventure. Overall The booking process was smooth, with half paid upfront and the rest after the ride. The safety briefing gave us full confidence, and we felt safe and well cared for the entire time. Being able to take photos and even drink glacier water made the trip extra special. This was worth every penny, and we feel so lucky to have had Jess and Kris guiding us. If you are considering this experience, book it. It is one of those adventures you will remember for the rest of your life.

This was one of the most absolutely amazing experience. I gave my husband this alaska trip for his retirement, and after all of the excursions, we did in a week in alaska, this was the best overall. We have the most amazing pilot who landed us on a beautiful glacier and got to experience drinking glacier water. This will truly be a memorable adventure that we will never forget.

Omg you guys. We were originally going to do the 30 minute flyover but upgraded. AND IT IS SO WORTH IT! The most amazing views and stopover at the glacier. It was truly wondrous, and didn’t feel real. Our pilot, Hutch, was awesome and so knowledgeable about everything. Best 60 minutes of our trip so far. Thanks team!

This trip was breathtaking! The pilot, Jesse, made our trip answering my unending questions and making sure that we saw lots of wildlife. Standing on a glacier, sipping clear, cold glacial water is quite an experience and I’ll never forget it. This tour was the highlight of my whole trip!

The Glacier Landing tour is a must do! Hutch, our pilot, was great as were the ladies inside who walked us through everything. Seeing the mountains, valleys, rivers and glaciers from the air up close was indescribable; so beautiful. You receive ice cleats to put on over your shoes so you don’t have to worry about walking on the ice. Hutch brought some little cups and we each had a drink of glacier water. So cool! We also got to see a moose and her calf and a few mountain goats. Spend the money and do this. You won’t regret it.

We were a little indecisive whether a flight seeing trip would be necessary (driving through Alaska was so beautiful in its own right) or worth the money. The answer is a resounding YES! If you’re able to, do it!! And do it with the pros at Alpine Air. The team is professional and friendly. And our helicopter pilot Jackson was amazing!! It was she first time in a one for several of us and he put us at ease. He flew so smoothly and calmly gave us the lay of the land - figuratively and literally as we flew beside mountains and landed on the glacier. The scope in size of the mountains and glaciers is an incredible experience. We are so so glad we did it.

The trip was amazing!!! It was my first time in a helicopter, but the staff and the pilot made me feel so comfortable and welcome. They also were able to accommodate me as a single traveler, which I greatly appreciated. The flight gave incredible views of the glacier and the surrounding landscape, and getting to land on and explore the glacier was so, so cool. I learned a lot about glaciers and got some AMAZING pictures, and got to try some glacier water. I would absolutely recommend this experience to everyone!!!!

No experience to tell other than the fact that there is a weight limit on passengers. Set up time and even paid for trip to find out ten minutes later that myself was too heavy.

I’ve traveled to over 30 countries and this is by far the coolest experience I’ve ever had. We were on the fence about doing a helicopter tour due to cost, but I am so incredibly glad we decided to book. The staff is friendly, mindful of safety, and informative. Our pilot Jackson was exceptional & great at spotting wildlife + answering all of our questions about glaciers, the area, etc. Our flight was full of laughs, fun facts, and a lot of “wow”s. I’ll be telling all of my friends and family that this is the #1 must do in Alaska.

Wow- what an amazing experience. The staff were so professional and knowledgeable. The transportation from Anchorage was entertaining. But the views if the glaciers were out-of-this-world!

WOW!! Hard to put into words how amazing the scenery and the experience of helicoptering to the glacier was. The deep blue ice and ice formations blew me away. Our pilot Nick was the coolest. We took the morning one hour flight and this was the perfect capstone to our Alaska vacation. Alpine Air Alaska runs a high class operation. 5+ stars!

Let’s start with an amazing pilot. Nick was very best at what he does. He made this incredible trip happen. Our 9th wedding anniversary celebration. Unlike anything we have ever experienced. If you haven’t done this trip, do it you will be glad you did.

I got a birthday present to do a helicopter flight with Alpine Air and man am I glad we did! Our pilot Mytty was awesome and very friendly while also being safety first. He was a great pilot and knew a lot about the area. Landing on the glaciers was also amazing and totally a life changing experience. The helicopter was comfortable and clean. You seriously need to just do a flight with them!

Nick, our pilot, was great. Very personable and knowledgeable. He made sure that he maneuvered the helicopter so that both my wife and I had excellent views of whatever we were looking at. The staff at the facility was very accommodating. Would strongly recommend as being worth the money
