It was canceled by them. Said they had a family emergency and sent text the day before. I did not get a text and went and waited for nothing. I called them and that is what they told me
Great tour. Lots of information about Anchorage .
Awesome Tour, very informative, Guide was Native Alaskan she was very well informed and funny, Loved all the stops.
The Itinerary tells you how much time you get at each place but our driver changed those times to less time. So we didn’t purchase some things as there was not enough time to do that because of lines and enough workers to serve people. when we got back on the vehicle in her time frame and was asked if we bought anything we said we didn’t have enough time. Then ended up getting talked down to in front of everyone in the vehicle, she said she would have extended the time to accommodate and made it sound like we talked to her poorly. We just followed her rules.
Fun way to see Anchorage and fill our day. Joan was an amazing tour guide!
This is a great way to see the town. If you tried to use Uber or Lyft to see this much of Anchorage you would spend 4 times as much and miss the fun.
Great tour, very informative and we saw places we wouldn’t normally have been able to get to in the time we had available. Excellent samples of smoked goods and chocolates as well.
Great tour! We just arrived in Anchorage the prior day so it was a nice tour for the highlights of the city. Our guide was fantastic.
Nice overview of type of experiences one can expect, hit the highlights for Anchorage area and allowed time for shopping
Joan was fantastic. First thing, congratulations on your retirement! This was a great, unique way to see Anchorage. A behind the scenes and personalized history tour that included 2 food stops. It was well worth the time and exploring. Thank you!
Our driver/ tour guide - Dave? Dan? I am terrible with names - was wonderful. Made us laugh. Full of information. So helpful getting us on and off safely!! He was just awesome!
Awesome experience....guide super knowledgeable!
The sights and chocolate tastes were interesting and good. Unfortunately our guide was not all that interesting or good at bringing things to life. We went back to some of the same locations on another tour and the guide brought each location to life through his storytelling.
Seen a lot of awesome things. Denali made a rare appearance, Baluga whale humps, moose, salmon running up stream and of course blue ice glaciers. 😊 Guide was very upbeat and knowledgeable.
Fabulous! Dan was very friendly and informative about the city and the people. Very helpful with those with challenges. Highly recommend!!!
Guide was very informational, friendly and kind. She answered all question throughly.
Our guide was not great. You did not receive very much food during this tour. Only small samples. We were disappointed.
Best tour ever, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I especially enjoyed the scenic stops and getting to see different parts of Anchorage. It was a wonderful experience and a great way to start our Alaska trip. I would definitely recommend this tour! 🏔️❤️
So much interesting information about Anchorage. Our guide was great and knew what she was talking about
Had fun, learned about the culture, saw a moose, saw Denali in the distance. Overall a great 3.5 hours!
It is a great tour. Stops were very interesting. Guide was very informative and friendly and down to earth. Excellent tour with Joan.
Very good mix of information and fun stops. Our guide was very good. An enjoyable time. We even saw a female moose, up close, when we were at Earthquake Park! Awesome.
It was a great small group experience! We got a great taste of Anchorage. We liked tasting the Reindeer sausage and smoked salmon. Then on to the chocolate factory for a delicious dessert!
Not a typical tour. More like a friend or family member driving around Anchorage. Saw some interesting sites, heard some interesting stories. I will recommend to friends coming this way.
We had a wonderful tour with Joan, a true Alaskan. The tour was very informative, a great way to learn about the local history and culture. We were overall very happy with this tour.
Very much enjoyed this tour. The tour director did a wonderful job and was very friendly and courteous. The only complaint I have is it wasn’t very clear where the pickup place was. I would definitely recommend!
Our tour guide was named Joan. She is a native Alaskan born and raised in Anchorage so she was very familiar with the history of the area. She lives off grid and provided lots of information on that lifestyle as well. She took us to several interesting shops where we had time for souvenir shopping. Very happy with our tour!
A great way to see Anchorage. We only had a few hours in Anchorage and this tour fit our time schedule. Great chocolates, fish and sausage tastings. The history and culture parts were also new to me and entertaining and enlightening.
Interesting, not too much driving. Plenty of stuff to buy but no pressure. Included businesses and public points of interest. Guide was knowledgeable and interesting.
Dan was our tour guide to explore Anchorage and we could not have had a better guide. Dan was upbeat, knowledgeable, and friendly. We saw so many places on our tour. Some we passed by with a detailed history of each place. We stopped at the Uli knife store, the chocolate factory with free samples and the huge chocolate fountain, and a very unique fur store with amazing merchandise. We also went to the float plane marina to see the planes. This was an amazing tour and a very special way to get your introduction to Anchorage. Dan was the best tour guide!
My mom and I had an extra day in Anchorage following a work meeting. We wanted to hit the highlights and had an easier time doing so with our tour guide. She was full of information and answered everyone's questions. I think our favorite stop was to Alaska Sausage & Seafood Co. - lots of sampling delicious fish and sausages. We also lucked out to see a moose! The van kept the tour small, which was nice.
Great tour. Excellent guide. Joan is the best,
Joan was great. Very knowledgeable about anchorage and Alaska. Tour started and ended on time. Thanks
This is less of a sightseeing tour and more of a unique shopping opportunity. Our guide, Dan, was very knowledgeable of the area and extremely personable. He is clearly enamored with his adoptive hometown and that enthusiasm is evident throughout the tour. That being said, the stops on the tour are unique shopping opportunities for Anchorage visitors. Ironically, the billed chocolate tasting experience was a bit underwhelming with just a platter of samples laid out. At the other stops, there was a demonstration (ulu factory) or curated tasting (sausage and seafood factory). My husband has mobility limitations, and Dan was extremely helpful getting him in and out of the van at the stops.
Dan, was very knowledgeable and truly loves what he does. His commentary on the key spots in anchorage with their accompanying history was well worth the tour. The vehicle was comfortable. This tour has many places that one can check out independently but Dan's tour gives it a personal touch to learn the history and Alaskan way of life. Recommend if one is looking for a quick city tour that is not strenuous.
The tour was very interesting, taking us to see some of the highlights of anchorage. We got to taste some salmon and sausage as well as some sausage. Joan, our tour guide, made it so fun and interesting! She shared her personal stories and introduced us to some of her local friends at many of the places we stopped. Ten of us enjoyed the tour!
Dan was a fun tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the city’s history. The stops were interesting but I must admit I liked the chocolate factory most. The 20 Ft chocolate waterfall was amazing.
OMG Dan was awesome we got to meet his wife Kim right before he left on our tour she did the other tour that they have and it was just an amazing experience he's only been here for 10 years but he is so knowledgeable about Alaska he loves the state he loves to share the experience and it's just an amazing tour you got to see a lot and a little bit of time it was a 4-Hour tour almost for 60 bucks to do all the stuff you did and drive around and have to do it yourself it was amazing I just wish we had a little bit more time at each of the stops cuz I didn't get to see everything but other than that that's really my only complaint
This was a good experience with our driver, Joan. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the town and its history, and loved to tell the stories of the different events and places we visited. There was a bit of a shopping angle, it seemed most places we went were commercialized to sell to tour-goers, and I can be not a fan of that - but a small about was to be expected and it wasn't overdone. All-in-all our family had a great time!
Dan was a wonderful guide! He was fun, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. We enjoyed all the stops, especially the ones with food samples. We would highly recommend this tour!!
A great way to learn about the city. And the driver was great to explain and answer questions. Let us take our time to explore each stop.
There is a lot of shopping involved . We had a great looking for moose and actually spotting two of them. Watching the planes come in and out was really interesting. The salmon and halibut tasting was fun.
Joan was great guide, very knowledgeable local that brought spunk to the trip. Would highly recommend her.
The most important “buyer beware” tip about booking with Trip Advisor and Viator is that they do not control the tour operator actually conducting the experience. In this case, the tour operator CANCELLED the tour one or two days before, due to “lack of sufficient people signed up”. Refund to come “in a few days”. They were very nice about it, but so disappointing to have this happen so close to the tour date. Did not have the opportunity to book an alternative tour. Not doing this anymore!
The van tour was very informative and a great way to get a local point of view. The guide was knowledgeable and shared interesting stories about the area. I just wish the stops were a little longer to allow more time to browse and explore before moving on. Overall, it's a great tour to experience the area through a local's perspective.
Joan was an excellent tour guide. Loved hearing the history as we drove through Anchorage. Enjoyed the stops and history surrounding each. Great tour of Anchorage. I would recommend to anyone.
Great tour with Joan. As an Alaskan native, she shared great stories and insights into Alaskan culture. Loved the stops.
This was an overall fun tour of Anchorage. It hits some of the same spots as the trolley tour so I'd suggest only doing one or the other. Guide was great at explaining the places we went to and more detail on some Alaskan culture, traditions and habits. Took some time to try to spot a moose at different areas in the city for us so that was nice. The Ulu factory is a small neat operation, you're able to see part of the process in place with crews working behind windows. Delicious chocolate tasting and salmon/sausage samples as well, with an opportunity to see some unique items at a fur consignment shop. All things you could probably do on your own, but the convenience and information makes it a good experience.
Fun tour. Highlights of the city. Small group tour made it very enjoyable. I would recommend this tour.
