Vinny was an incredible guide. He was funny, educational, and made sure all of us were accounted for. He did not rush us, and when someone spotted a moose, he made sure to turn the bus around so all of us could see it! I would give Vinny 11/10 stars if I could! Overall a great experience, and a great mix of shopping, nature, and parts of the city that most people don't get a chance to see.

Itinerary
Before we hit the road, get your hands on real Alaskan gold. Your Winter City Tour begins inside the Alaska Mint in downtown Anchorage. Meet your guide, explore the Mint, and discover the craftsmanship behind its coins and jewelry. Then feel the weight of a genuine Alaskan gold nugget in your hands—and get a photo to prove it. The gold stays, but you won’t leave empty-handed. Every guest receives an official Anchorage Trolley Token as a complimentary keepsake of their adventure!
As we embark on this tour, we'll immerse ourselves in the rich history of the renowned explorer, Captain James Cook. We'll trace his epic voyage to Anchorage, learning about his adventures, trials, and discoveries along the way. This man's journey not only shaped the course of exploration history but also left a significant impact on Anchorage itself.
Step inside the Ulu Factory to discover the story behind the traditional ulu knife and how it’s made. Watch a demonstration of its distinctive curved blade at work, then sample Alaskan reindeer sausage for a taste of local flavor. Before you go, browse the shop for Alaskan gifts—or purchase an ulu of your own. Not every souvenir has to sit on a shelf!
As we drive past Earthquake Park, your guide will share the story of the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake, when a massive landslide carried part of the Turnagain neighborhood toward the sea. Hear how the disaster reshaped the city and how neighbors came together in its aftermath to rebuild. Discover the history behind this quiet stretch of Anchorage—all from the warmth of our tour vehicle.
At Point Woronzof, you’ll have about 15 minutes to take in sweeping views across Cook Inlet, framed by snow-covered mountains and Anchorage’s winter landscape. On a clear day, you may even be able to spot Denali in the distance. Take a few photos, enjoy the fresh Alaska air, and soak in one of the most scenic views of the tour before we continue on.
Cruise through Lake Hood and Lake Spenard, home to Anchorage’s famous floatplane activity. See colorful aircraft lined along the shoreline and, in winter, you may even catch planes taking off or landing on the frozen lake.
Warm up with coffee and meet an Alaskan bush pilot. Stop at Rust’s Flying Service for a cozy coffee break and a chance to chat with a local bush pilot about what it’s like flying across Alaska. Ask questions, hear a few stories, and snap photos with the planes at Lake Hood before continuing your winter adventure.
Strike a pose at one of Anchorage’s fun photo spots! Hop out for a photo stop at the colorful Greetings from Alaska mural—the perfect backdrop for a fun Alaska vacation photo as we wrap up the tour and make our way back to where your adventure began.

Our tour guide Prince was very good. He was very knowledgeable about Anchorage. It was enjoyable and a good first stop when arriving in Alaska. Prince even ended our tour by singing the Alaskan anthem :-) The only negative was even though Alaska Sausage and Seafood was on the itinerary it was omitted from the tour. And the reason given was an unbelievable one. We found out later they had lied about it. They just need to remove it from the itinerary as they are no long allowed to stop at Alaska Sausage and Seafood.
This tour was extremely disappointing. We do not recommend. They did not visit many of the spots that are advertised, such as the giant snowlady in the picture, or Point Woronzoff. They did go to Rust Aviation but nothing to do there but use the restroom. They also did not go to Alaskan Seafood Co. to sample seafood and reindeer sausage. Instead, they abruptly ended the tour and the driver/guide Ian handed out to each person a small packet of a single stick of sausage that says "2% Reindeer meat added." About the only thing enjoyable on this tour was that Ian is a funny entertaining guy constantly cracking jokes. But by the time it ended, we just felt like we got cheated. Not worth the time nor money. Go with someone else.
The guide was amazing! He had a great sense of humor, was knowledgeable, and great manners... he made sure we all stayed safe on our stops and shared a lot of info. Him singing at the end of the tour was nice. The tour was great!
Great guide/driver. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Basically driving around downtown Anchorage pointing out points of interest. Good description of tidal bore. Tour stops were not very interesting - Ulu retail store was a typical gift shop.
Great experience with Prince, seeing the sights of Anchorage! Fun narration by a life long resident, and talented guide.
Really enjoyed this tour around downtown Anchorage. Our guide, Ean, was fantastic! He was really knowledgeable about Alaska in general and Anchorage in particular. His humor was also appreciated!
Our tour guide was super funny and helpful. He answered all our questions with a smile and made sure to keep us all safe from the snow and ice. He also made sure to keep us laughing and kept us interested. Thank you. We did not get to see the tall snowman so i did not give a 5/5 stars for that.
Great history from the tour guide, Prince. Interesting facts about Anchorage and the history of the city.
Worth your time..lots of history learned! Tour guide entertaining! Would do it again! Would have liked to have seen a moose!
Our tour guide, Ean, was awesome and very entertaining. He described and explained the places very lively. I didn't give the tour a 5☆ coz we didnt cover all the places that was on the itinerary, we didnt get to meet SnowElla, Anchorage’s 25-Foot Snow Lady, and didnt visit Alaska Sausage and Seafood Company, which I was looking forward to see how they smoke the salmon. But still got to enjoy the short tour.
Very interesting tour of Anchorage area. Ian was fun & engaging. The Ulu knife factory was interesting and the sites were beautiful!
Our tour guide Prince was awesome! He was very detailed and provided wonderful history of Anchorage on this tour. Love his sense of humor! Professional and respectful. Great to have a native narrate this tour.
It was a really awesome tour! The guide was super awesome too, we learned a lot about the history of Anchorage.
Try to get Ean! He made the excursion so fun and enjoyable! He is a wealth of knowledge and very energetic with lots of stories about his experiences in the area!! Loved it!!
it was a great experience. Our guy was very knowledgeable and nice. i learned a lot it was a great learning experience loved it
Such a great experience and perfect way to see the city when you have a short amount of time. Prince was fantastic and he has a lovely signing voice!
There aren’t many touristy things to see in Anchorage proper, but Ian, who was our guide, made them interesting. He was knowledgeable and entertaining! Great tour!
Very informative! We got off the bus a few times to walk around and see sites and take pictures. Bring your winter gear if it is cold : ). Our guide was great!!
Started on time. The van was roomy and warm. The guide, Prince, was a safe driver. He had a lot of dad jokes and great info about Alaska. He sings very well. The price is reasonable, and about 2 hours. Highly recommend for a quick tour of the area.
So , my first time to visit Anchorage Alaska but the town make me feel so good .. I choose this tour because that great budget but the services 1,000 % the guide tour name John ..he so nice and kindly , he let's me know about the history around Anchorage and takes me to the icon of important places around the town. Ean Timothy was an amazing Tour Guide , extremely Knowledgeable, with tons of facts and made the tour experience hilarious and fun with quick Wit and banter. He was Also had great photography skills he implemented and offered to take photos at key areas, got some awesome shots as memories and for Social Media ..
This was a very fun and effective tour! Learned and saw so much throughout the city. Would recommend to anyone visiting Anchorage.
Prince was a very courteous, knowledgeable and friendly guide. We had some great photo opportunities.
It was a great experience. The guide Ian was hilarious and I don't think there was anything he didn't know about the history of Alaska.
My tour was excellent. Ian is hilarious 😂. He made everyone feel welcome in our small group. Even for someone like me who was a solo traveler. We had all the stops. It was nice to have a driver and he knows a lot of history about alaska and just history in general. I would definitely do this tour again!
Tour was informative and interesting! Tired guide was funny and included everyone. Would definitely recommend especially on a cold winter day.
The tour guide was a great guide. He was funny and kept the tour interesting. Dress warm if you plan on getting out at the stops because it gets chilly outside.
A great overview of Anchorage. Ian was a wonderful, courteous, knowledgeable, hilarious guide. We went in 6 degree weather, but it was comfortable. The tour was organized and administered very well.
We really enjoyed this tour. Prince was extremely knowledgeable about every area we visited. His tour was engaging and informative, and he truly brought each location to life. A special highlight was when he serenaded us with the Alaska National Anthem, which made the experience even more memorable.
Interesting but also boring. Our tour was short 40 minutes. Saw some things had no interest in, driver was friendly but also annoying.
Wonderful travel, our guide was charming and full of life! Made everyone laugh and had amazing back stories to the history of Anchorage and the state of Alaska! The tour is a great way to kill a few hours and kick back while trying some reindeer sausage! You are also allowed to get off the bus at stops and take photos with family and friends, I will highly recommend this tour given the price. You will not be disappoint. PS: Our tour guide is a Denver Broncos fan so if you like the Raiders, stay away! Haha only kidding, but I myself am I broncos guy so Go Broncos! Enjoy everyone! 👍🏼
Great! We had a good time. Our guide Prince was awesome. Very relaxed and well paced excursion. Nice way to see Anchorage.
Ian was the best tour guide, he deserves every $$ he earns and more. He was detailed about everything and was very polite and courteous
Ian was the best funny guide ++++++++++highly recommand this winter tour .++++++++he explained lots of things .....the ride was warn entertaining
Location for pick up was easy to find. the driver was very informative, personable, all-around great attitude
It was an excellent city tour of Anchorage. Our tour guide, Prince, was very informative and he had a great sense of humor. We got a good sense of the history and culture of Anchorage and took some beautiful pics. Prince's singing of the Alsakan State song at the end of tour was touching and a good finale to our tour experience!
This tour was better than expected. The tour guide was Prince, he was knowledgeable, funny, and kind. He did a great job showing us around Anchorage. It was interesting to visit some hidden gems of the city and learn more about its history. It is definitely a great tour, especially if you don't have much time and want to see as much as possible. We got to see Moose on the loose a couple of times during the tour as well!
What we DID get to see of the tour was pretty kool! There were two places that was supposed to be in the tour that we paid for but didn’t get to go to for some reason! The Medical Center Gift Shop & the Chocolate Fountain. Someone on the tour asked about this and was told it was out of the way. :( That was pretty disappointing. But overall it was a good tour. I personally enjoyed walking on the ice on Lake Hood! History of Anchorage was explained really good. Enjoyed the details of the earthquake that shaped Anchorage. That was pretty fascinating! I’d recommend to others IF everything described on the website was going to be adhered too. It’s not an overly expensive tour but I’d like to get the results of what I invested in. :)
You should bring snacks and water because people complain about the tour being during lunch. There isn’t a snack pit stop.
Ty was fantastic. Entertaining and knowledgable. Ty saw a moose and we stopped to look at it lying among the trees. Snow sculptures were cool. Earthquake patk was interesting.
Great tour of the city. Lots of interesting information. Very good guide. Loved walking on a frozen lake!
The tour was great, and the views were It was so beautiful. We didn’t get to try the salmon or reindeer. The tour says 4 hours but we were back in a little over 2 hours.
Ok but too expensive for what you got. Itinerary looks good but mostly drive by. Got out at * ulu factory store (no time for factory tour. Only time to buy). * city scenic overview * sea plane fbo and walk on frozen lake Underground house saw driveway and residents car! For this we paid $59 each plus a tip ( cuz Prince the driver really only good part of trip). I would check GREAT Visitor Center before booking for other options.
Amazing!! I went on the tour on my first real day in Anchorage, Alaska. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He was laid back and made me feel at home. Although we hadn’t booked together, several of my sorority sisters were on the tour as well. The tour guide teased me about being from California, but it was all in good fun. I really appreciated how kind everyone was at each stop. We got a sample of reindeer sausage and our choice of hot chocolate, coffee or hot cider. I took some amazing pictures as well. Great introduction to the city and state.
It is pretty obvious that this tour is struggling to fill in 3 hours in Anchorage. Definitely not enough to see in the Anchorage area. I would challenge that any of the Tours can fulfill their itinerary in this area. On the guide front Prince was excellent.
Excellent tour.the guide gave us good information and so patient and organized for tour I thought simply downtown It gave wonderful experience thanks
An excellent tour by a local who has all the local knowledge you need to know. Well worth the visit.
Very good tour/experience. We learned a tremendous amount of history and facts regarding Anchorage. The tour guide was great and kept the entire group engaged and lighthearted for the entirety of the trip. We will definitely recommend the trip to our friends and family.
The experience was rewarding, albeit more verbally detailed than visual. The driver / escort was brilliant and kept everyone on their toes and happy throughout the three hour trip. For a first time visit, the experience was worthwhile.
