Our guide was delightful; pleasant, local to the area and so knowledgeable and great at communicating. She knew how to add humor as well.

Itinerary
This Tour is for those who are on a time constraint and budget. This is a direct shuttle to the Wildlife Center with a scenic stop at Beluga Point. Board your Turnagain Arm Shuttle for the guided drive along Alaska’s most scenic highway. From beginning to end there are dramatic views of mountain scenery and the Cook Inlet. At the 140-acre Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, jaws drop in awe-even while viewing Alaska's spectacular wildlife. AWCC’s mission is to provide refuge for orphaned, injured and ill animals-those that can’t survive in the wild. Your shuttle will take you directly to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where you can witness Alaskan Wildlife up-close. Your journey includes a one-hour visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where you will be able to stroll the grounds at your leisure for one hour and then a direct journey back to Anchorage. We depart from the Alaska Wildlife Center gift shop on time. Please ask your driver for the departure time and remember it is hard to find guest last minute, so kindly be ready at departure time. Turnagain Arm is a “Must See destination” via The Turnagain Arm Shuttle.

Waste of money. This is a drive to the center. That is it. You are spending $100 for a $30 ticket and a drive. Rent a car and drive there yourself if you have more than one person. It will be cheaper. Plus, you only get 1 hour there. My mother has mobility issues, and we couldn't do that in an hour. We discussed this with Viator and they stated to meet at the bus to get the ticket and drive ourselves. We did that and the company refused to give us the tickets and the owner refused to refund our money. We contacted Viator ahead of time and they said it was ok, but the company refused.
The hubs and I thoroughly enjoyed this guided bus tour!!! It was amazing to see and learn about the animals and the facility’s efforts to repopulate dying out species
It was well worth it. Lunch there was ordinary. Don’t get the Mac and cheese.viewing the animals was fantastic even though it was raining. The guide was interesting Melissa and well spoken.
Tour operator cancelled the night before excursion. Please issue refund. It has been over 2 weeks and I have not seen a credit.
All the places that we went to are beautiful and we are given enough time to explore. Our visit to the wildlife conservation was great but to windy conditions we were not able to walk around too much.
Gary is awesome! We had such a good time on this tour (note that we were upgraded to a slightly longer tour, not the express). The wildlife center is definitely worth a visit (we honestly could have stayed longer!) and we learned so much more from Gary than we would have on our own. Gary also took us to some scenic spots for pictures and we did a very easy/short walk. It’s a perfect tour for all ages, including my parents in their late 60s.
We enjoyed seeing the animals at the conservation center. We had a beautiful sunny day and most of the animals were outside and moving around. The tour director/ van driver gave us lots of information, and stopped off a couple of times to view wildlife. It was an hours drive from Anchorage.
Brooks was an excellent tour guide — so knowledgeable. This was a great way to explore south of Anchorage!
I wasn't overly happy with this tour right from the word go. Our tour driver was friendly enough, but unfortunately not particularly engaging. He shared the bare minimum information and, although he made a few bonus stops along the way, he didn’t provide any history or point out interesting places or points of interest during the journey. It felt like there was a missed opportunity to make the journey itself part of the experience. The visit to the park itself was very rushed and I felt that we didn't get much time to explore the park at all. The actual wildlife park was quite sad and disappointing. Yes, you get to see the animals relatively close up, but they are behind wire fencing, and in some areas the fencing was so thick that you could barely see the animals, let alone take decent photographs. The beautiful wolf was particularly heartbreaking. He was in the distance and spent much of the time howling, seemingly because he was on his own. The brown bear/grizzly was also just pacing backwards and forwards along the fence line and looked incredibly sad. While the opportunity to see these animals up close was certainly memorable, I left feeling quite uncomfortable about their living conditions. For me, seeing wildlife should be an experience that leaves you feeling inspired and connected to nature, rather than wondering whether the animals are happy and well cared for. Overall, this was probably one of the more disappointing experiences of my trip.
Extremely over priced! Priced at the entrance is $30. Phone number don’t work. No one contact you until you trying to cancel it. Then they show up 1 hour late at the place they told us to meet. I never write bad reviews. I really hope no one gets scammed again! They are very rude people as well!!
Great tour! Our guide was excellent.
The animals are in very small habitats and the place is not very well kept. it was a bit depressing. The highlight was watching the porcupine get his nails cut. What a cutie!
We had a great trip with our guide Brad..The Wildlife Conservation Ctr. was very interesting. It was so interesting to see the. Wildlife up close. It was beautiful drive there with many things to see along the way and our guide kept everyone engaged.
The excursion was Easy to book and the tour company was accommodating. Our guide Matt Cho was excellent. A native Alaskan and member of an indigenous tribe, Matt shared a wealth of knowledge and life experiences highlighting the tour. In addition to the Alaskan wildlife conservation center we stopped at some scenic locations and saw several glaciers. The conservation center was an amazing visit and allowed us to safely view some beautiful wildlife up close. An excellent tour day enjoyed thoroughly by myself and my 18 year old twins.
First, appreciate the flexibility in adjusting my reservation due to my flight being canceled! Second, very friendly and engaging tour guide who also offered accommodations for folks who may not be as mobile. Third, if you can, sit on the right side on the way to for the view of Turnagain's Arm! I'd go again!
This is a rescue center for some Alaska’s injured or rescued animals. It makes for a good photo opportunities.
The tour provided a good close up view of animals along with beautiful Alaskan scenery. Rezi Ramos was an excellent guide - extremely pleasant and friendly.
Brad the tour guide was very entertaining and friendly. He went above and beyond his normal duties as a tour guide to make my twin daughter's 7th birthday extra special in Alaska.
Our guide was excellent, weather was excellent and we were the only ones on the tour.
The driver was a last minute chocie and he wasn't that happy about being there. Unfortunately it turned out the weather at the center was very rainy and cold . So he left the big sliding door on the isde of the van open and we had to jump on and off to see and take pictures of the animals. It was cold, wet and hard viewing with no real narration at all from our driver. I am guessing the experience woud have been much better if the weather had been better and the driver more involved.
Great experience! Melissa is a Nome native transplant to Anchorage. She has so much rich history to share! I lived the ride out to the conservation center - we stopped a few times to see wildlife, grab a snack, and shop. The whole experience was amazing - highly recommend!
Excellent tour company. Rez was our guide and did an incredible job. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience! Great to see a place for wild animals to go and be cared for when they no longer can be in their natural habitat.
Last minute tour. It was fabulous. Benjamin made sure we saw wildlife on the way to the conservation center. When we got there he made 3 passes in hopes to see the bears as well. He also took us to a couple of extra spots along the way which was great. Definitely recommend this tour.
The tour guide Melissa was fabulous, however the owner of the business, verbally abused me on several occasions after the tour by phone when I left my purse in the tour van. He called me at 7:30pm yelling and screaming at me and accussing me of things that had nothing to do with me. I simply tried to ask If they could check the van and hold the purse at the office for me. I was absolutely horrified by his disgusting treatment of me, has ruined my Alaska vacation. My tour was booked for 12pm they changed my time to 11am as I was the only one booked for 12pm, I arrived at 10:40 and this horrible man screamed at me later that night that everyone had to wait for me, I had 1 hour notice and still arrived before most others. Not sure what making up lies about me has to do with getting my purse back. Holiday ruined. Thanks Alaska's finest.
Fantastic guide, friendly and knowledgeable. Wildlife was incredible. Nice grounds for all the wildlife. Back drop of mountains made for a great day as all the animals were out and came to the fence
I went to Anchorage for a 5 days conference and little time to explore. We decided to attempt to find a tour that met our needs and we did. Justin was so nice at the office and organized a tour with an exceptional guide Matt. Matt was funny, knowledgeable about Alaska and made our visit fantastic. I recommend this company if you would like to have an amazing experience.
The guide made the trip. She is knowledgeable and you can tell she loves what she does. We were lucky to have her
The tour was great and we were able to meet in Girdwood since we were staying at Alyeska resort. Ben went out of his way to set up a transfer to Anchorage hospital when my husband became ill. He made it a priority to get us to the hospital in Anchorage and continued to check on his progress throughout the night and the next day. I really appreciated his genuine concern for our well being since we were complete strangers to him. We were very lucky our paths crossed. Big thanks to him and his staff for helping us with our medical emergency.
Awesome tour , Great guide - Gary was really knowledgeable and awesome sights to see, had a fantastic time
Beautiful ride to the animal sanctuary and the animals are awake and easy to spot. It’s incredible. 1
Great little trip to the AWCC ! It was a good deal that included a ride to and from with admission. Everyone we interacted with also was very kind.
Advertised as 1 hour Express Excursion but was 1 hour drive each way. 90 minutes spent at Animal Park
Ben was a fantastic guide. Really enjoyed the information he imparted. Learned how to say thank you in Tlingit (sounds like "gouda cheese"). The animals in the conservatory were great.
This is a great opportunity to see Alaskan wildlife up close. They have an impressive variety of animals and our guide, Melissa was terrific! She’s very knowledgeable and enjoyable.
Our guide took us to numerous viewing points that was not on tour. He shared his love for his state. He was very knowledgeable. The time at conservatory was an hour as advertised but not sufficient to see entire property.
I was a little disappointed. This was the only available ride/tour to the Wildlife Conservatory on a Monday. Instead of one stop, we made at least 4, all at areas most of us in the van had seen on other tours, like the Portage glacier. By the time we got to the conservatory, we only had 45 minutes to walk around and spend time with the animals. I had spent a month in Alaska without seeing a moose or other animals and this was the last day of my visit, so barely having time to take pictures was def a bummer. Also they had food there and after the 2.5 hour ride it would've been nice to get some food or a drink. But no time.
Had an amazing time. Great tour guide and very knowledgeable. Took my friends and I to see breathtaking views of the glaciers, rivers, lakes and wildlife. Definitely a must see and experience tour if you are planning a trip to anchorage.
We were able to book this tour at the last minute when we had a gap in our travel schedule. There was a mistake in the booking, but the tour operator was quick to respond and offer options to meet our needs. The tour guide Matt narrated the drive to the conservation center with interesting and useful information. He was personable and funny. The conservation center was amazing. Would highly recommend!!!
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the animals. We had a wonderful time. Would recommend to everyone.
Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. Great trip and such a great overall experience. Well worth the 5 hours!
So pleased to see orphaned or disabled creatures find a home, food & care. Facility is in a natural setting so animals feel comfortable too. Go support them. In addition our guide Gary from Premier Alaska Tours was excellent. He was knowledgeable, friendly, responsive to tour members needs, & incredibly enthusiastic to share us "down 48ers"(state residents) the amazing beauties of his Alaska. Give that guy a raise!
Ben was a terrific guide. He was informative and entertaining. The trip to the wildlife sanctuary included many stops at not only Beluga Point, but also wonderful photo ops at glaciers and a walk through a rainforest. The wildlife sanctuary was very enjoyable with a walking tour of local animals - such as bears, moose and elk. Highly recommend this tour.
Conservation park was 4 stars, the transportation experience 1 star. Write up explicitly states they do not pick up at hotels yet we make a stop at the Alyeska resort for 2 guests who changed pick up location requiring bus to back track - added over 30 minutes to commute. Tour advertised as “express” which we selected to go before our flight. Fortunately made it in time and the beautiful landscape made up for the unnecessary stress
It’s everything it promotes it to be. Jerry is an excellent tour guide, his knowledge of the area kept me entertained and engaged.
Minor quibble would be to have a little longer there before the return trip bit it was a great way to drive along the inlet and see the wildlife conservation centre.
There was confusion about the meeting point between what was in the confirmation ticket vs the text message and website. However, other than this, the visit to the AWCC more than made up for the little inconvenience. The bear encounters were simply amazing, we also saw the bisons, reindeers, lynx, coyote, and more. Our guide is also awesome by ensuring we stop at the Beluga Point as per the tour description as we have other travellers rushing to make it back to city for their evening flight. I highly recommend for people with limited time in Anchorage making it memorable.
Very cool park for the animals to roam around. Saw all kinds of wildlife. The drive going there and back was very scenic.
Donna was absolutely amazing! She was so friendly and knowledgeable. She knows Alaska like the back of her hand. The views and her as our guide was the highlight of my trip :)
