The location was convenient for my time in Anchorage. All staff members were friendly, but the bartender, Yong, was an exceptional delight to get to know during my stay at the Sheraton last week. More businesses need employees like Yong. Not only were the food recommendations and my Old Fashioneds on point, but she also gave great suggestions of things to do around town. If I'm in the area again in the future, I'll be staying at the Sheraton - or at the very least, swinging by the bar to say hello.

Update: Icing on the cake—I’ve just learned that my updated rental car info was never processed as promised by the front desk staff, and I am now having to dispute a parking fine. If you must stay here, I strongly recommend parking elsewhere. Original Review: I've always liked this Sheraton, though it's been several years since my last visit. My recent stay fell short of expectations. While the lobby remains welcoming, the staff were pleasant, and I appreciated receiving a room upgrade, two major issues overshadowed the experience: * Room Condition: The junior suite was in clear need of some TLC. There was a noticeable bad odor, and the pipes were really noisy throughout the stay. I at one point called the operator because I thought the hotel had construction going on - it was the pipes (though the bed itself was comfortable). * Management of High-Profile Guests: The Blue Angels team and crew were staying at the property. While amusing at first, the overall management was extremely poorly handled. Despite dressing casually, keeping to myself, and intentionally leaving them alone and even waiting for a separate elevator so as not to bother them, I was glared at in the lobby and followed all the way to my room by someone associated with their group. Feeling profiled and shadowed just for trying to access my own room as a paying guest is unacceptable. Hotel staff did nothing to intervene or ensure I felt safe and welcome. It was clear that their only priority was the Blue Angels. If hosting high-profile groups requires making standard paying guests feel monitored, harassed, or unwelcome, organizers should commit to a full hotel buyout. Otherwise, all guests deserve to move freely without harassment. I suggest management address both room maintenance and proper guest security handling moving forward. With a much nicer hotel down the road, I will think twice about returning in the future. They've never cared that I walk in solo wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I've always been made to feel welcome.
This Sheraton Anchorage is an excellent property to consider for staying in downtown. Our king room was spacious and the view was spectacular from the 15th floor. Ella at the front desk was lovely and made our check in process easy. The breakfast brunch at the Jade restaurant was exceptional and offered personalized omelettes by Cecil. Diane and her entire team offered great service during our stay. I would highly recommend the Anchorage Sheraton.
We had a lovely stay at the Sheraton. Currently undergoing external renovation, so it does look a bit rough upon the approach. However, the interior is clean and well appointed. Rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Club Lounge available on the 11 floor. Good buffet breakfast in the Jade downstairs. Great service, always friendly and courteous. Not a far walk from the heart of downtown Anchorage
Our family (my wife, our son, and I) recently stayed at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel, and while our visit didn't get off to the best start, it ended up being one of our most memorable Marriott stays. As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member, I always appreciate when elite benefits are recognized. Initially, things weren't quite what I had hoped for, but what truly impressed me was how the hotel responded. Guest Services Manager Diane Lake took the time to listen to my concerns, treated them with genuine care, and went above and beyond to turn the situation around. Her professionalism, commitment to guest satisfaction, and willingness to find a solution completely changed the course of our stay. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite, and from that moment on, everything exceeded our expectations. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family. One of the highlights was the incredible floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the mountains. Watching the seaplanes take off throughout the day against the backdrop of Alaska's beautiful scenery was an experience in itself and made the room feel even more special. The hotel's location is another major advantage. It's conveniently located near several great restaurants, well-known local ice cream shops, and is just a short drive from downtown Anchorage, making it easy to explore the city while still enjoying a quieter setting. We also appreciated the convenient covered parking, which made coming and going easy regardless of the weather. Another highlight was the hotel's JADE restaurant. We enjoyed excellent meals there, whether it was breakfast to start the day, lunch between exploring Anchorage, or dinner in the evening. The quality of the food and the friendly service made dining at the hotel a pleasure. For Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite members and above, the Club Lounge is another fantastic perk. We really enjoyed having access to complimentary breakfast each morning, light hors d'oeuvres and snacks in the evening, and a selection of snacks and soft drinks available throughout the day. It's a wonderful place to relax and adds tremendous value to the overall stay. The entire staff was welcoming and courteous, and it's clear that guest satisfaction is important here. I especially appreciate Diane Lake for transforming what could have been a disappointing experience into one that reminded me why I continue to choose Marriott Bonvoy. If you're a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member visiting Anchorage, I highly recommend this hotel. Great service isn't about never having an issue—it's about how a team responds when one arises. The Sheraton Anchorage Hotel demonstrated exactly that, and we're grateful for the wonderful memories we made during our stay. We look forward to returning the next time we're in Anchorage.
