We were very fortunate to have Fabienne as our tour guide for the morning tour. We had just arrived in Aix the night before, so the timing of the tour was perfect. Fabienne was prompt and ready to show us around. We were able to see a ton of local areas in just 3 hours. We went to a few museums, a few churches, and we received quite a history lesson of this wonderful town. She took us to some local shops where we were able to sample some of the local foods, and we were able to make some purchases. Later on the trip, we found our way back to those shops to buy more to take home. At the end of the tour, we were able to stop at one of the markets and sample some terrific local foods. We had bread and olive oil, many cheeses and meats to choose from, some olives and, of course, a bottle of wine. It was fantastic. Since we used Aix as home base for our entire trip, this tour proved to be invaluable for the rest of the trip. I would highly recommend this tour, and, of course, Fabienne!

Fabienne was exceptional in touring us on a walking tour in Aix-en-Provence. Her educational explanations of the history was so well explained and use of visual pictures as well. The combination with local food selections was delightful. She is so pleasant to be with and we felt like we knew her for years. Don’t hesitate to book with her.

The tour was fabulous. Fabienne, the guide, was knowledgeable and entertaining. The group was small and we got along very well. We learned a great deal about the city and its history, as well as seeing the many beautiful sites. The food stops were interesting - sampled some of the local candy specialties, as well as going to a bakery and getting savory and sweet treats and rose [wine]. A great experience and highly recommended.
My husband and I truly loved this fantastic tour given by Fabienne. We learned so much from her and she had a beautiful way of blending the historical information with fun places to stop for a bite of the local specialties along the way! She also helped us with our questions on taxis and trains, as we needed easier routes than we were taking. She was so kind and helpful! I highly recommend Fabienne and her tour and I think she would be great doing cooking classes as well! Lisa and Rino Caruccio

The places we visited had fascinating history. The highlight was certainly the treats and food that we got to taste. Truly a fun way to start the day!
This is a nice tour of the city. We loved the small gathering of people. Fabienne was very good at working with our group. She very knowledgeable of the city. Her amount of information on the city and the past citizens was great. She also brought us to some shops that are local favorites. We left with more understanding of the Provence area. Good overview of the historic section of Aix. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited. We had our tour on market day and that added to our experience. Also we enjoyed pastries, cheese, meat, bread and wine from the local area. Really enjoyed our guide.
Our recent city tour of Aix-en-Provence was a memorable experience, thanks to our knowledgeable and passionate guide. She expertly blended history, culture, and gastronomy, bringing to life the city's rich past and vibrant present. Highlights included a stroll along the iconic Cours Mirabeau, where we learned about the life and works of local painter Paul Cézanne. The tour also featured a delightful culinary journey, with tastings of local cheeses, wines, and Provençal delicacies. Our guide's love for Aix-en-Provence was contagious, and her helpful tips and recommendations made our entire stay even more enjoyable. This tour is a must-do for anyone looking to truly experience the essence of this beautiful city.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-hour tour with Fabienne. She was wonderfully knowledgeable and inviting. We learned so much of Aix en Provence’s history throughout, from 300 BC through the Black Plague, the French Revolution and the Resistance in WW2. Her tour included details about architecture, building construction and city layout over the centuries. We had delicious local pastries and tastes of unique-to-Aix-en-Provence sweets. We also visited a morning market where we tried sausages and a variety of cheeses, with a glass of Provence’s rose. If you have only a few days in Aix, book this tour to learn so much in a short period of time. The tour gave us a great feel for the city and Fabienne was so helpful in explaining all aspects of this special place. She also gave great restaurant recommendations and offered to assist us with anything we needed during our stay. The tour was like a warm introduction to this city and to a new friend. Highly recommend.
Our first day in Aix, and Fabienne was a perfect guide. We enjoyed a leisurely exploration of the city, learning much about the history of key sites as well as the life of favorite son Cézanne. Highly recommended as an intro to the beautiful city of Aix.
The tour director Fabienne was very knowledgeable and personable. We enjoyed the tour very much and took lots of photos.
Had a fantastic time with Fabienne and her tour of Aix En Provence! The city is extremely beautiful with much culture and history. She was a knowledgeable guide and showed us a side of things we wouldn’t know without speaking to a local. I recommend if you’re coming to Aix!
Wow, what a great way to start our visit to AIX. The walking tour was informative and interesting. She was very accommodating to our 6 year old and her grandma. Fabienne met us with pastries and left us with French bread, meat and cheese. We highly recommend Fabienne when planning your trip.
Great details about Aix by knowledgeable guide - loved walking through town - thank you for arranging
Awesome tour. Worthwhile. Fabienne was an excellent tour guide. She was laid back but able to keep our group on track.
Wonderful leisurely and informative three hour walk through the historical city with tastings of local favorites. Especially enjoyed the cheese and salami along with rose from Provence. Highly recommend this tour.
We enjoyed our time with Fabienne. We discovered beautiful architecture and fountains and got to know a little bit about a very charming city. We enjoyed the local specialities, and we found Fabienne to be a knowledgeable and engaging guide. She is a wonderful ambassador for Aix.
We had a great time with Fabienne. Our meeting spot was easy to find, and we found her to be knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. We tasted a variety of local specialties, and we walked around Aix and saw stunning fountains and architecture. The afternoon flew by and made us realize we needed to return to Aix to spend more time.
Fabienne was a wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable guide for our group! She surprised us with a lovely assortment of pastries and explained so much about the history and symbolism found in the town as we walked. We had a lovely lunch of local breads, meats, cheeses and beverages! Great day!
Fabienne was friendly and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed walking through Aix and learning the history. I think, compared to other tours we had taken, we expected more food. It was an enjoyable time, and we would recommend it to others, with caveats.
Another 5-star review for Fabienne...who truly made our short stay in Aix-en-Provence so memorable. She kindly arranged a transfer for us from the train station so that we could take the morning tour, which was when the market was thriving! She generously treated us to breads, cheeses and wine of Aix and took us to several of her favorite shops to experience some of the specialties of Aix. Fabienne beautifully shared her knowledge of the history and culture of Aix as we toured this beautiful city and made our short stay in Aix truly enjoyable. One of our favorite tours!
Very interesting tour. Got to sample many local favorites and visited market. Guide very personable and knowledgeable. Well worth doing@
Wonderful morning spent with Fabienne. She took us to all of the significant sites in old Aix and gave us great insight into its history. We had lots of stops at local food shops to taste the local specialties and sat and had wine and cheese just bought at the market. I highly recommend her tour to anyone new to Aix-en-Provence!
This is an excellent tour. Fabienne is a knowledgable and interesting guide who has designed an excellent overview of the tastes and tales of Aix-en-Provence. She emailed us prior to the tour, providing a reminder and the necessary meeting info. She answered our many questions about life in Aix/France today and in the past. We visited several interesting sites buried in the neighborhoods of old Aix. We enjoyed a variety of uniquely local tastes, including the surprisingly good calisson candy from Aix's history. We really enjoyed our half-day with Fabienne.
We had a lovely walking tour with Fabienne. She was very knowledgable about the history and culture of Aix and was a fun tour guide through the beautiful city. We saw markets, churches and lovely gardens. She made some selections cheese, sausage, bread and rose wine near the end of the tour and also helped us with recommendations for the remainder of our trip in the south of France. I would highly recommend this tour. Five stars.
This was an incredible tour. Perfect tour for my one day in Aix. Fabienne was an amazing guide. The food was delicious too!
We loved this tour because it was both a history tour and a food tour. Our guide Fabienne led us through the city, explaining Aix's history all along the way and stopping occasionally for delicious local treats. We enjoyed buying bread and cheese from the market stalls and stopping for a wine and cheese break at a charming cafe. She knows the city well and had several photos and maps to help explain certain points to us. We would definitely recommend this!
Enjoyed this city tour. We went in July and were a bit worried about the hot weather but we spent some time indoors and the weather wasn’t a big issue. We learned a lot about the city and also had a chance to taste some cheese and wine. Recommend this if you are planning a visit to Aix.
Had a great walk through Aix with Fabienne. Saw and heard about the history of the city and had some great recommendations for lunch/dinner places. Also had a little lunch with Fabienne and she gave us an appreciate for cheese and the wines of France.
My friend and I are in LA and we met in the South of France to visit the Provence area. Based on the reviews of tripadviser, we decided on the walking tour with Fabienne in Aix en Provence, not really knowing what exactly to expect. It was SO GOOD! Our group was small --- 6 total (including Fabienne, our guide). Fabienne was professional but warm, knowledgeable and educational and so kind. I had done a morning in Aix en Provence with my husband by ourselves a few years back --- and we really just kind of walked around and didn't get much of it. But with Fabienne, we enjoyed the history, visits into local historical buildings, very hyper-local shops (not the bigger touristy shops), the farmer's market, and enjoyed a ton of delicious food without any pressure to purchase anything. In fact, she bought so much food for us (croissants, baguette, cheese), we almost felt bad not eating it all. It was a good amount food that my friend and i ended up skipping lunch. There was also a glass of lovely rose. I really felt this was such a worthy tour -- I would recommend it to anyone going to Aix en Provnce. Walking tours remain my favorite way to experience a city. And I would do another tour with Fabienne any day. It was a 100% positive experience.
Fabienne was a lovely tour guide. She had good knowledge of Aix-en- Provence. It was good way to see the various parts of the city. We started the day with some croissants and then had had a lovely glass of wine, cheese and cold cut meat for lunch.
An excellent informative and enjoyable tour. The history and explanation of this outstandingly beautiful little city. Fabiene was so thoughtful and engaging. Despite it being the most busy of the year (bastille day) she still managed to ensure the group all had the most memorable experience with tastings in some beautiful spots. Don’t have much for breakfast before you go!
Loved learning about the history of Aix and kicking our trip off with a great start. Tour through the food market, with a glass of rosè, cheese and meat was lovely.
A great way to explore and get to know the old town of Aix. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared the interesting and varied history of the town. We sampled many local gourmet treats including a variety of delicious cheeses from the local food markets. Would highly recommend
We learnt about Cezanne, Aix's history and architecture with photos from her tablet. Fabienne bought us two cheeses, salami and bacon/cheese fougasse from the Sunday market and we sat at an outside table of a restaurant in the market square to enjoy them with a glass of rosé wine with ice which is the local style. She also brought us to shops where we could taste local sweets like calissons, nougat and navettes. Altogether, it was a most enjoyable time getting to know Aix and Fabienne. She left us with fond memories, a map of Cezanne's walking tour and a packet of calissons/nougat to express her thanks for choosing her tour. A most enjoyable experience not to be missed!
We really loved the tour. Along with great historical information about Aix En Provence it felt like we were shopping with a girlfriend. We stopped at a tea shop that interested us, a hair salon and other places. Fabianne was so friendly and kind. We loved it. 💕
Our guide Fabienne was amazing! She had baked goods for everyone at the start of the tour and we ended the tour sharing cheese and baguettes that she supplied for the group. She was friendly, knowledgeable and shared the best parts of the city with us. I highly recommend this tour and Fabienne!
