Gorges Du Verdon : Lavenders, Canyon Boat Picnic & Villages

Our entire family loved this authentic experience!! He was super accommodating and so kind with excellent communication! The day trip he planned was absolutely delightful and the curated picnic he packed was delicious! We traveled to France for two weeks and this was one of our highlights!!

We had a wonderful time! The Gorges du Verdon was an extraordinary sight, and spending time there made our day. Our picnic was delicious, and it was so easy to drive our own boat! The lavender is lovely (even in the off season) and the beach by the Lac du Ste Croix was relaxing and calm. Tom is a thoughtful and fun guide and expedient driver. It was such a lovely day out, just a great way to experience Provence.

This is a must do excursion, I highly recommend it. Tom is the very best guide, he is knowledgeable and very accommodating!

Good trip if you are in Provence. Boat trip in Verdon gorges was the first of the kind ex. You get to drive an electric boat all by yourself. Water was amazing bluish green. Lavender fields may not be as flashy violet as you see on the google. I traveled on 6th July 2026 in the middle of a heat wave.

Tom was an outstanding guide—warm, prepared, and deeply knowledgeable. The picnic he arranged, the gorgeous swimming spots in the Gorges du Verdon, and the secluded lavender field made the day unforgettable. His kindness and attention to detail turned this into one of the best experiences of our French Riviera trip.

We were fortunate enough to enjoy a magical day with Tom to Gorges du Verdon. From the moment we were picked up, Tom was so friendly and accommodating especially considering it was a hot day. We were a party of two and there were only two others on the trip, making the journey very comfortable and personal. When we arrived at the gorges, we were given two hours in a private boat to explore the gorges. We ate, swam and enjoyed the picturesque views. The food and wine were a highlight, Tom was very generous with the portions and we both arrived back to the vehicle very full. Then we stopped by a lavender field and heritage listed village Saint-Croix with a gorgeous lake that was beautiful to swim in. We couldn’t recommend this tour enough. Tom was friendly and knowledgeable, he made our day so special and took photos of us at every stop!! Thank you Tom

The day that we spent exploring the Verdon region was a highlight of our time in Southern France. Les Gorges du Verdon are truly breathtaking and there is beauty everywhere you look. Tom is an excellent tour guide and arranged a day that combined history and culture with extraordinary views and experiences. We began with a private boat trip through Les Gorges du Verdon where we ate a picnic of traditional French delicacies and wine. We then travelled to the village of Saint Croix, stopping to view (and smell) the fields of lavender and sage along the way. The tour was very relaxed and it was a pleasure to share time and stories with Tom. He did a wonderful job of providing information and entertainment while also allowing us time for private experiences. Communication and coordination were excellent. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

The itinerary of the tour was perfect and the two hours spent on the gorge in an electric boat with a delightful picnic was a highlight of our trip so far. We had a delightful day at the Gorge and Tom was an excellent guide. He is passionate and knowledgeable about all things Provence … food, wine, culture, nature and geographical assets. We enjoyed all that was planned for the day and even a few extra things as he learned our interests. We learned French language, stopped for a quick round of petanque, enjoyed wine from Tom’s village …. It was an excellent experience!

The guide picked us up from our hotel. I had a great time on my tour of the gorges with picnic, lavender field and villages. We stopped at a nice lavender shop to make some purchases. Thomasz was such a great guide. He even helped us to secure a tour for the next day since he was not available for the tour himself. He is very personable and so much fun. The gorges were beautiful. Someone in my group even drove our boat for a part of the journey. During the picnic, it was nice to try some local olives and wine. Overall this was a really great trip.

He provided an exceptional picnic lunch for our electric boat ride through the Gorge. He stopped for pictures in the lavender fields and for a panoramic view above St Croix,. His tour was exceptional and I would highly recommend him to learn about the Provence region

We had a fantastic time visiting the Verdon Gorge. Thomas was super friendly, accommodating, and informative about the area. We started with an electric boat ride on one of the gorge's lakes, then stopped at a lavender field, and then finished up in a cute town on another beautiful lake in the gorge. I would highly recommend this excursion for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in southern France's natural beauty.

We spent a beautiful day with Tom and 2 other couples. We are so glad we decided to leave the driving to our guide and just enjoy the scenery. Every thing was super fun and professionally planned and executed.

This excursion was a wonderful way to experience the charming villages outside of Aix. The electric boat ride experience was truly memorable and, it was very easy to operate. Thomasz was absolutely wonderful. He was extremely patient in waiting for us, and adjusting the time that we started. He knows the area like the back of his hand and he provided a most unique and beautiful tour. He packed a delicious picnic lunch for our boat ride complete with rosé and a fresh baguette. When we approach the lavender fields, he made a beautiful bouquet for our daughter as he explained the healing and medicinal properties of the lavender. He has the most delightful disposition, he is full of joy, a man of character, and a true leader in hospitality. He provides a memorable experience that one cannot easily do for themselves. Our day exploring Provence, through the Gorges du Verdon, past endless lavender and sage fields, all the way up to Mount Sainte-Marie, was one of those rare travel experiences that actually feels as magical as you hope it will. And honestly, a huge part of that magic came from Tom, our guide. From the start, Tom had this easygoing way about him that made us feel like we were just spending the day with a friend who happened to know the region inside and out. He was full of interesting stories and local insights. More than that, he was just kind, funny, and incredibly thoughtful. At one point, he even followed up with restaurant suggestions for the next leg of our trip. Little things like that really stuck with us. The tour itself had this lovely, low-key vibe. It wasn’t crowded or rigid at all. We had time to really take it all in. There was a peaceful boat ride at our own pace, a delicious lunch with the most beautiful view, and quiet moments wandering through tiny villages that didn’t feel the least bit touristy. And the scenery? Unbelievable. The turquoise water in the gorge, the fields of lavender stretching into the distance, the stillness of the mountains—it’s hard to put into words. But what made it more than just a pretty place was the way Tom connected us to it. You could tell how much he genuinely loves this part of the world. This wasn’t just a sightseeing tour. It felt more like being welcomed into someone’s home. We came away not just with photos, but with a real sense of connection to the place and to the people who live there. If you’re heading to Provence and want to experience it in a way that feels personal and meaningful, this is the way to do it!

This was so much fun. We had a great time. Thomas is amazing and just does the tour so right for us. No rushing around. And we laughed together so much. Just an awesome day. It was just us and another lovely couple from America and we all just felt so relaxed. Like we were all good friends straight away. I would recommend this tour and any tour with Thomas. Fantastic trip from Aix to the Verdon Gorges with Tom! Tom is warm, welcoming and quite thoughtful. He prepared a delightful picnic to eat during out boat trip in the Gorge. The boat trip itself was very pleasant and the electric boats were quite easy to manage even though I’d never steered a boat before. The lavender field stop was very nice even though we were too early to see blooms. Both towns we walked through were very scenic as well. His careful planning made the day a breeze. He’s also a very safe driver. A+ for sure.

My partner and I were looking for a peaceful day in Provence to connect with nature, and Tom truly exceeded our expectations. He picked us up and drove us to the breathtaking Gorge du Verdon, where he arranged an unforgettable boating experience. With a delicious picnic thoughtfully prepared by Tom, we had the opportunity to take our own boat out on the water. We swam, relaxed, and savored every moment together. Tom made the entire day seamless, and his knowledge of the area added so much to the experience. It was, without a doubt, one of the best days we've ever had!

Not too many tour offer the boat ride in the canyon, we are glad that we found Tom and did the boat ride with his tour. The boat ride was so calm and peaceful with amazing landscapes. It was literally the best way to experience the Verdon gorges. The tour guide Tom was really friendly and nice. He also told us many things about the villages In Provence.

If you are expecting to visit the majestic Gorge du Verdon on this tour, you will be disappointed because despite the picture shown and itinerary description for this tour, you will be brought to Esparron-de-Verdon instead of Gorge du Verdon. The tour also lists a visit to Mounties Saints-Marie, passing by Alps-de-Haute-Provence and Var, all of which did not take place.

I am glad I packed a towel and sunscreen for a day I will never forget. The canyon is gorgeous. The picnic lunch a taste of Provence and the swim off the boat refreshing. Between destinations we made stops to see a lavender and sunflower field which made the day magical!

Go there with your eyes closed; great camping to relax in nature.

Tom has provided me and my daughter with one of the most amazing days of our lives. The boat picnic in the middle of Gorges Du Verdon is a must. Delicious products, everything super punctual and organized, Tom is a very nice company. The tour to the village of Saint Lacroix du Verdon was also unforgettable. Thank you, Tom! Our day could not have been better and healing. ❤️

It was the best walk I ever made in the area. The place is beautiful and Tom the best guide you can have. I'd take the walk a thousand times if I could. Tom makes us feel happy and excited throughout the journey.
