Great introduction to the city of Aix-En-Provence. Although we had spent a couple of days wandering the city on our own, Shirley showed us just how much we had missed.
Thank you Shirley for an inspirational guided walking tour. It was a perfect way to start learning the history and the present of Aix-en-Provence
It was great, our guide, Shirley, was very informative and led us at our pace. She helped us take perfect photos.
Shirley was FANTASTIC!! She was very knowledgeable and kind. Spoke English well, she seemed to really enjoy showing us the city.
Shirley was wonderful guide! She knew so much about Aix-en-Provence. She walked at the pace of our group, tailored her talk to our experience and knowledge level, and was a fun guide all around! And it was wonderful to see and learn about the history of Aix!
Our guide was very knowledgable about the history of Aix. She was friendly and had many great suggestions for more to see in the city. It’s a great tour for anyone with a short amount of time in Aix and want to learn as much as possible.
Shirley contacted us in advance with time and location to meet. As it happened, we were the only ones on the morning tour that day, so great to have a personal guide. Shirley was really friendly and knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and enjoyable. There were a few shop and food recommendations as we went and happy to stop for anything we wanted to spend more time at. A lovely experience touring Aix with a wonderful guide. Only advice would be to do it earlier in your stay!
Shirley is a delight! Her enthusiasm and knowledge of Aix history comes through thoughtfully and clearly. The walking tour was interesting shared how the city has evolved from Roman occupation to French Revolution and now as an important hub of culture and education. Least not forget Paul Cezanne’s role in cubism! Highly recommend Shirley and her tour.
Shirley was wonderful. Extremely friendly and personable. A wealth of knowledge and just a real pleasure to spend time with.
Shirley was a wonderful guide for our afternoon in Aix!! We needed a quick orientation, history and neighborhood gems and she delivered with warmth and fun, making our Aix experience so perfect!
The walking tour in Aix en Provence with Angelica Espinoza was amazing! We had such a wonderful time discovering the city, learning about its history and exploring its beautiful streets. Angelica made the tour so engaging and enjoyable, sharing fascinating stories and details that made us appreciate Aix even more
It was really great, the city is amazing and Angelica made us feel a lot about the history and the culture. I enjoyed knowing cultural facts and visiting nice places like the Cour Mirabeau, Place de Resistance, etc. The Church at the end was cherry on top, I didnt know it was built in 1300 YEARS!! This tour was one of the greatest of my life. And at the end we listened to a choir from the church practicing, it was really amazing.
I had a wonderful experience exploring Aix-en-Provence on this guided tour. Our guide, Angelica, was excellent—knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the city’s history. She made every stop feel meaningful and brought the stories of Aix to life in a way that was both informative and enjoyable. The itinerary was perfectly curated. We walked along the beautiful Cours Mirabeau, admired the elegance of the Hôtel de Caumont, and stopped at the charming Fontaine des Quatre-Dauphins. Angelica guided us through Saint-Jean-de-Malte and the hidden Passage Agard, adding fascinating historical context along the way. We also visited Place des Prêcheurs, explored the old Jewish quarter, and learned about the rich heritage surrounding the Town Hall. The highlight for me was the Cathedral Saint-Sauveur, where Angelica’s explanations really helped me appreciate its architectural and historical significance. Overall, this tour was a perfect mix of history, culture, and atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Aix-en-Provence, especially with a guide like Angelica who truly elevates the experience.
It was super nice getting to know the city with Angelica, thank you!
it was pretty awesome, she knew a lot about the history of the city
Beautifull city. A really good tour.
Kelenn was our guide today for this tour. He was an interesting guide who was knowledgeable about Aix and its history and took time to show us and explain interesting landmarks, the old city and the new. He didn’t rush the tour and showed us other places like the cat book shop, patisseries, churches, interesting plaques and many fountains. I highly recommend this tour if you want a general orientation of the town and a brief history of the area.
Shirley was a great tour guide. Small group of six, although we had expected this to be a private tour! We saw a lot of the town of Aix en Provence, some great architecture and interesting areas of the town. Lots of walking on a very hot day!
We had a lovely time, walking around together, laughing and seeing the town of Aix and learning the history
Vivienne was such a great guide and did an amazing job explaining it
Our tour guide was Shirley. She was great. Showing us the old town and shops and historical landmarks. It was just my 2 friends and me. It was perfect. Highly recommend.
Shirley gave us an incredible tour of Aix en Provence. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made it easy to learn about the city while really enjoying the experience. We discovered so much about Aix en Provence. We’re very happy we chose this tour and would recommend it to anyone visiting Aix en Provence.
The tour was great. Shirley, our guide, gave us an excellent tour and she showed us the most important places and attractions, and also provided some recommendations for things to do after the tour. We really enjoyed it.
We learned a lot about the Aix en Provence and our guide Tanveer answered all our questions really. We had a great time walking around the city. Highly recommended!
The city is beautiful, and the tour was very informative. It was great learning about the city's history from our guide and also getting to meet fellow travelers. I would recommend it!
We started on a strange note, that we came to assigned time, but our guide wasn’t there. But it was cleared up and quickly and professionally organized and we had an amazing walking tour. The guide was knowledgeable, told interesting facts about the city, showed us to the important places and attractions, suggested where to eat or where to shop, waited for us, when we went inside a church or a shop. Tanveer didn’t rush us. Was patient and answered all the questions that we posed to him. It was a very positive and great walking tour and exposure to the Aix en Provence . Highly recommend.
I took the walking tour with this company; it was very informative, the group was small, and we visited several points of interest in Aix. The guide was very professional and shared a lot of important information, which allowed me to discover the place in greater depth.
The tour guide was very professional, kind and knowledgeable. He considered how everyone was doing on the tour and patient with us. Great guide
Very good tour. Our guide showed lots of patience and carried on in the extreme heat. Happy that we went.
This tour was the perfect break for myself and my colleagues during a long week of meetings. Our guide was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and witty, and brought us to places we would never have found on our own. 100% recommend to anyone interested in the history and culture of this wonderful place.
It was great experience, the guide knew the stuff and he showed us many places and told us a lot about the places and suggested restaurants, sun set points, famous things to try.
With the small narrow streets of AIX, I highly recommend getting this tour to familiarize oneself with the city
Polite young student with very little knowledge of Aix en Provence history, sights, culture or tourism. One hour into walking tour all 4 of us chose to opt out and discover on own. When asked a question his response was invariably “I don’t know”. Never had this experience with Viator/Tripadvisor in all our travels. We really should be refunded as guide wasn’t interviewed by company.
I highly recommend this tour. It was an unforgettable experience. We were in the most beautiful and interesting places. Our guide explained us all the stories and suggested the best places to go for lunch and dinner.
Fantastic experience! Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. An authentic walk where I learned a lot and have much fun. I’m a solo traveler and that allowed me to meet new people and to get to know some sweet spot. Totally recommended!
An incredible visit to Aix en Provence, also known as the city of a thousand fountains. We were at the heart of Provençal traditions with small shops, monuments, and unique culinary culture. This tailor-made itinerary is perfectly suited for families, couples, solo travelers, and international tourists. Close to transportation allowing for full appreciation of the tranquility of Aix.
