We did a Heritage Walk with Soulwalks as an office team and had a very good experience overall. The walk was informative and gave us a great glimpse into the older parts of Agra. The local food stops were excellent in terms of taste — the places are quite basic in their look and feel, which is understandable given the character of the old city. Ending the walk with a view of the Taj was a wonderful touch. A couple of things that would have helped us plan the experience better: we visited during Sawan festivities and the Kanwar Yatra, and while the team did adapt with alternate routes during the walk, it would have been useful to know beforehand about the expected crowds and their potential impact on access. Similarly, as we did the walk on a Monday, the closure of the spice and jewellery markets was something we would have liked to know in advance when choosing and planning the walk. These are more about proactive planning guidance than the walk itself, and given Soulwalks’ local expertise, I think this would be a useful addition to their pre-walk communication. Erum, our guide, was fantastic, and Tahir was excellent with the hospitality. Both made the experience enjoyable. Overall, I would definitely recommend Soulwalks for anyone looking to explore a different side of Agra.

Just returned from an amazing tour of Agra old city with Arhaan. He was so knowledgable, engaging and kind. We walked the old city and Arhaan shared stories, brought our surroundings to life and he found so many interesting places that we would never find. We also ate some gorgeous sweet and savoury food and had had plenty of water & a delicious lime drink. I cannot recommend this company enough / they are first class amazing and are at the very top of their game.
Tahir was our guide. He spent the morning with us at the Taj Mahal then we met late afternoon for the Agra 101. His sharing was passionate and he really tried to understand what our interests were so he could tailor the experience to us. He expressed deep personal knowledge of Agra and really brought into the history and current realities of the city and his neighborhood. My highlight was being invited to him home. We met his lovely wife and mom and cat! The food and chai laid out was amazing and being in their home helped connect us to his world. Thank you for your hospitality and your care of our needs. I felt safe, heard, and grateful for the friendship you offered us. I will note that i wasnt our groups main coordinator. I heard later they had a lot of confusion and difficulty coordinating with this company. They only realized later that multiple users were using the same whatsapp handle which led to part of the confusion and frustration.
Arhaan (Heritage Experience Curator) was the best guide we have ever met! He is extremely knowledgeable and competent, and he guided us on our exploration of Agra, sharing countless historical anecdotes in a very thorough and professional manner. His passion for Indian history and culture shines through in his words and is really captivating. In addition to showing us the city’s architectural and artistic treasures, Arhaan took us to explore some local markets where the vibrant heart of Agra beats. After spending a wonderful afternoon, Arhaan took us to the home of an incredibly kind and hospitable family. They offered us excellent tea and invited us to stay for dinner and join them for the Eid celebrations. We spent the entire evening with their relatives and friends, and they truly made us feel right at home. Finally, Arhaan was kind enough to personally drive us back to the hotel, even though it was already very late. In short, the day we spent in Agra with Arhaan was the best of our entire stay in India! It enriched us not only culturally, but also—and above all—on a human level.
I had a fantastic experience with Arhaan. I like history and I already knew some of the historical background behind the landmarks of the visit. He tailored the experience accordingly and successfully provided so many details and curiosities! So I highly praise his knowledge and the level of commitment towards trying to embed me with stories within mughal India
My partner and I were in Agra for 2-3 days and wanted to see the city beyond the Taj Mahal. We couldn’t have done it without Tahir - he showed us places we would have never found on our own, or which we wouldn’t have understood without explanation. He really brought the city to life, both in its glorious past and its complex present. We also tried a few local snacks which we would have never dared to taste on our own, but were delicious surprises. Not to mention, Tahir and his wife opened the door of their lovely home to us at the end of the tour and offered us tea. Truly a 10/10 experience which I’d recommend to anyone visiting Agra.
After a day spent amid the giddy grandeur of Fathepur Sikri and the Taj Mahal, Arhaan’s night-time stroll through the back lanes of Agra was a perfect antidote. We learned a lot about the people’s history of struggle under the Raj, enjoyed exploring mosques, tasting sweets, visiting forgotten corners, viewing the cityscape at sunset from a rooftop and having a lovely, intensely political chat over tea about how fabulous (kidding) British rule was and what India is becoming under Modi (pretty divisive and dysfunctional in Arhaan’s view). All in all, a terrific experience and a great counterpoint to the marvellous pomp and circumstance of Mugal sites. Heartily recommended!
This was a terrific walk around Agra - a city we might not otherwise have seen much of as the area is dominated by the beautiful Taj Mahal. I really felt that we were experiencing aspects of real life in the city (not an easy thing to do as a tourist) and our guide Arhaan was very friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. A highlight was a visit to an Agra resident's house where we chatted, were served tea and saw the city both close up in someone's home and also, on the rooftop, with a beautiful perspective at sunset. Would definitely recommend - thank you!
My husband and I had a wonderful time with Kaleem walking around the market streets of Agra. From Jama Masjid to old dilapidated havelis and temples. Kaleem created an atmosphere with his stories. Nothing too convoluted. No overloading your brain with dates and facts that you probably won’t remember later. But stories that help you reimagine a time that was. We had also taken the Taj Mahal walk. It was a bit too sunny for a January morning and Taj was breaking at the seams with visitors, which I felt marred the experience a bit. But Kaleem tried his best to work around these limitations. Unfortunately my husband and I decided to cut the walk short due to the crowd. Nevertheless, Definitely recommend.
This tour was fantastic. Our guide gave us a detailed history of the Taj Mahal and knew where to stand for the best views and to avoid the crowds. He arranged for some great pictures. We also toured an historic mosque by the red fort and heard the history. We went on to tour the market of the old town and went into several shops that were family run. The perfume maker's shop was fascinating and the spice seller who let us smell so many flavors was yummy. We went into a family home for chai and to see the old local architecture. I would recommend this tour!
My mother and I booked the Agra walking tour and really loved it. Our guide was amazing and did a good job of explaining the history and taking us to unique places. We enjoyed seeing new parts of the city you might not usually go to. We also asked to add a Taj Mahal morning tour last minute before our walking tour and they were very accommodating and organised everything very quickly for us. I would definitely recommend the walking tour but also any other tours with them as it was very well done.
I had an excellent tour this afternoon with Arhaan on the Agra 101 City Walk. This was one of the very best tours for me in recent memory. His level of knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for the history of Agra and how it relates to the present made for a fascinating afternoon. I would highly recommend Arhaan as a guide and this walk as a worthwhile choice
Arhaan's walking tour revealed the real heart of Agra that most visitors never see. Whilst the Taj Mahal draws the crowds, this tour took us through spice-scented markets, historic mosques, and stunning 18th-century buildings that showcase the city's rich Mughal heritage. The highlight was sharing biryani at Tahir's family home – being welcomed as guests rather than tourists made all the difference. Their rooftop terrace offers breathtaking panoramic views, and their warmth and deep local knowledge transformed our understanding of the city. Thanks to their insider perspective, my British girlfriend experienced an India that exists beyond the photo frames – the genuine connections, stories, and flavours that make travel truly meaningful. If you want to discover Agra's authentic soul, this tour is unmissable.
Thankyou Arhaan This walk was amazing !!! Beyond my expectation… I truly had a wonderful time and got to know hidden stories about my own city… would highly recommend this 😊and would love to join again …
We had a great time with Arhaan who walked us around the streets of Agra. Loved hearing his stories of the city, he is a great storyteller and we could sense his passion for the city come through
My guide was Arhaan. He took me around many interesting sights. And explained very well. I especially enjoyed seeing the street life. I can recommend this tour.
Our three Agra walking tours with Arhaan at Agra Heritage Walks were among the highlights of our time in India. Arhaan is a passionate and compelling storyteller who brings history to life in fun, interesting ways. We started with the Agra 101 tour, a fascinating intro to Mughal history in Agra that gave us helpful insight and context for touring the Taj Mahal and Red Fort with Arhaan the following morning. Our tour ended with tea on the rooftop of Arhaan and Tahir's ancestral home in the Agra Old City market -- a beautiful sunset view of the Taj Mahal with great company! The next day, we met Arhaan at sunrise at the Taj. This was my second time seeing the Taj, and infinitely better than the first. Arhaan took us to quiet spots around the monument with great views, which allowed us to avoid the crowds before we got up close and went inside. It felt like we had the place to ourselves. His riveting storytelling covered so much, so well, the time flew by. Interested in the history of the Taj? Architecture? Economics? Gardening? Cultural preservation? Arhaan is seriously a treasure trove of knowledge. Let him know what you're interested in, and he'll personalize the tour for you. (He also debunked myths I'd heard on my first Taj tour years ago.) He knew where to get the best shots and took great photos of and for us. The Red Fort tour was similarly excellent -- Arhaan found out-of-the-way spots and great views and brought the place, and its former inhabitants, to life for us. If you just want to check the Taj Mahal off your bucket list, get some photos, and hear a guide rattle off a handful of "facts" about it, this is not the tour company for you. If you want to meet a local expert and have a truly memorable time in Agra, book a tour with Agra Heritage Walks. You won't regret it!
The Agra Heritage Walk was truly one of the best experiences of our trip. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but it is worth every single cent. The tour is run by incredibly passionate people who really love their city. Their knowledge of Agra’s history and architecture is outstanding, and they speak perfect English, which made everything so easy and enjoyable. Our guide was exceptionally kind—super friendly and warm, yet always professional. It felt like exploring the city with a local friend who knows everything about it! One of the highlights was definitely the street food. With the guide’s recommendations, we got to taste amazing local dishes without worrying about eating something that could upset our stomachs. That alone was priceless! I had so many questions along the way, and the guide answered every single one with patience, clarity, and genuine enthusiasm. Highly recommended!
This tour was truly amazing. It gave me a clear picture of Agra and made me feel genuinely connected to the city. The insights and information that Erhan shared with us were so valuable — things that would have been hard to find anywhere else.from the history of jami masjid and stories around agra fort to story of every part of the old city.I’m really grateful for the experience and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Agra.
For those of us with only a few short days to explore Agra, it’s really important to spend time with a passionate local who cares about and knows this city. This walk with Kaleem was an excellent way to access the authentic inner streets and town, to see and experience the people and places away from the tourist hotspots. Fascinating and highly recommended.
Very interesting heritage tour of old Agra led by a knowledgeable and passionate tour guide. We found out many interesting facts about the history in Agra, saw and explored heritage buildings and streets/ alleyways / areas. We were taken to places we never would have found, and were given treats like local sweets and Indian snacks along the way. If you want a really interesting and in depth tour of old Agra with an excellent guide, we can thoroughly recommend this to spend time exploring old Agra.
I had a wonderful walking tour with Arhaan in August 2025. He tailored our 3-hour walk to my interests - weaving together history, contemporary issues, his personal story, religion, arts/architecture, and stories of amazing women. We walked to places I never would have been to on my own, and it really enriched my 3-day stay in Agra. Highly recommend!
Did an old city tour with Kaleem, the company managed to organise it for us (my friend and I) super last minute which was very helpful. The meetup location was very easy and the tour was amazing ! I could tell Kaleem was very passionate about showing people the less well known side of Agra- which more people shouldn't definitely explore ! We visited a variety of holy places, view points and got to even see how the locally famous sweets were made. It does get quite hot though so make sure you bring some water along with you ! (Or can be easily bought). I couldn't recommend Kaleel and the old city tour anymore - definitely worth booking.
My friend and I had a very good time on this walking tour. It did not disappoint. From the booking of the tour, walking through the city and saying goodbye, the experience was brilliant. Kaleem is clearly very passionate about his city and took us to places we would never have explored alone. He was also extremely helpful with other questions we had about the area and India in general. If you want a taste of everyday Agra beyond the Taj Mahal, don't hesitate to book a tour with these guys.
I have done a lot of travelling with various guides over the years but this tour was one of the most enlightening and comprehensive tours I have ever done. It covers everything from an in depth narration of the history of India and what has impacted the city of Agra over the years to going to a centuries old perfume distillery to understand the day to day life of Indians. Understanding the seemingly chaotic streets in India Arhaan explains his upbringing in the city and how much of a community has been built here. Arhaan was incredibly good at gauging your interests and had endless knowledge and patience and this ability to read his audience made him a phenomenal storyteller and it's what we travel for. To understand the places we visit and the people who live there. This is more than a guided tour of the city of Agra, this is an unforgettable experience given by one of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure to know who will tailor your trip to fit whatever you want to get out of it at your own pace with seemingly endless options he offers you from trying the evening street food to visiting the Jama masjid during prayer.
We had such a wonderful tour with Arhaan who showed us around Jama Masjid, a market, and showed us some really lovely views of Agra. He gave us great historical and local context for everything and found us delicious food as well. If you want to see Agra outside of the main biggest historical sites this tour is absolutely for you. Thank you to Arhaan and Agra heritage walks for this opportunity!
Arhaan was our guide, and we spent the entire morning with him. He was an excellent guide due to his skill, experience, and knowledge about the Taj Mahal. We were two people, and he gave us a tour explaining both the historical context and all the important aspects of the building’s architecture. Thanks to his guidance, we were able to fully enjoy a wonderful experience at such an important monument as the Taj Mahal.
Huge thanks to Arhaan for an amazing introduction to the history and culture of Agra…in a few short hours he managed to share so many stories…his passion for Agra shone through and he answered all of our questions…even the silly ones…this is a must for visitors to the city!!!!
We booked their Agra 101 tour for our first day in India and it turned out to be the perfect introduction to the region. Our guide, Arhaan, was incredibly knowledgeable and a great communicator. He took us deep into Agra’s history, then walked us to fascinating sights around busy old city, including jama masjid, kashmiri bazar, a spice market and a perfumery dating back to Mughal days. Arhaan’s passion for history was obvious and it was so great getting to know Agra through a local’s eyes and hearing stories you'd never find elsewhere. Old city can be a bit of sensory overload (plus we were 2 females travelling India for the first time, who'd just flown in the night before) so this tour was the perfect way to immerse ourselves deep in the real India minus the total overwhelm. Recommended!
I truly loved this experience. It is a must-do for any international tourist in Agra. I was a solo American traveler on my first trip to India. I came to see the Taj Mahal, but I also wanted to learn more about this fascinating, ancient city. I arranged the tour fairly last minute and was so lucky to have Aarhan as my guide. He went above and beyond my expectations. We began at the Jama Masjid mosque, where he explained the history of the mosque and the city. He paid close attention during this first 30 minutes to what I was interested in seeing and doing, and shaped the tour accordingly. He helped me see Old Agra as a past and present place simultaneously. We ducked into little shops owned by artisans that had been there for decades - spices, musical instruments, perfumes, etc. We walked into parking areas for motorcycles that I wouldn't have looked twice at, and he pointed out the highly decorative tiles and siding along these buildings, explaining how these were once courtyards the wealthy centuries ago. He pointed out food, explained the way of life, etc. He also helped me logistically with finding a safe rickshaw driver. I really can't say enough good things.
Our 3 hours guided tour with Agra Heritage Walk was a excellent highlight of our trip to Agra. Kaleem, our guide was very accommodating to host us during Ramzan period and amidst the summer heat. The walk was easy paced, it was held in the evening where the weather was much pleasant. Kaleem was friendly, knowledgeable and very passionate in sharing cultural stories of Agra, he also told us wonderful history on Jama Masjid and its surrounding area. The heritage walk brought us to unique routes, stores and food that were only known to the locals. A memorable part of the walk was when we got off-the-beat to view the evening's beautiful sunset on top of a roof. It was an unique experience admiring the vast view of the old Agra city during sunset. Kaleem was kind enough to invite us to his home and also to perform a tune on his Indian Sarod, a traditional musical instrument. Highly recommended for anyone interested in experiencing Agra through the viewpoint of a local. Learn about the rich history, diversity of the nation and you will have an unforgettable experience.
Excellent tour provided in neighbourhoods of Agra which usually remain unseen by most of the visitors. Very much appreciated the occasion provided by the tour to engage with locals, away from the main touristic attractions. Definitely recommended for a more genuine experience of this beautiful city, who has even more to offer than only the Taj Mahal!
Alim gave us an excellent and informative tour of religious sites and of places in the Old City with an impressive knowledge of history and culture. We would never have had the courage to explore these secluded and precious venues on our own. We especially appreciate the possibility to get insights into everyday life and to listen to his opinion on current issues. Thank you so much!
Tahir bhaiya is a great host...He's such a humble person and told everything with outmost patience. I work in a Theatre group and we were very interested to know about the culture and heritage.. he is a knowledgeable person who told us everything about muslim and hindu religion .. Overall had a great experience and all the time we've spent was worth it.🌸
Amazing experience ....with very fabulous locations , the city of Agra is sooo beautiful... I enjoyed a lot.... Tahir bhai is best guide I have ever met..with a deep knowledge of this beautiful city 'Agra'
Amazing experience. A great way to explore Agra, through the lens of a local guide. Highly knowledgeable and takes one on a journey of stories.
We had a great time roaming around agra s old heritage. Thank you tahir for this memorable trip. Highly recommended for your next heritage walk.
It was a nice experience while having a heritage walk with Tahir bhai he narrated lots of stories about Agra enjoyed a lot!
This walk was such a great way to see Agra. Our guide took us to places we never would have found on our own, and helped us understand both the rich history and vibrant present of Agra. He was well informed and good company for the walk. It was more than worth the price, and next time we are in Agra we would happily check out on of their other walks.
Amazing Walk around the old city with people who were passionate about the history and the stories of their city, Agra. This allowed me to discover Agra from another point of view. I would definitely recommend.
I am from Agra and this walk opened a totally new chapter for me. I have never seen this shade of my beautiful city. Being from Agra i would totally recommend this tour and also all the other walks conducted by Tahir and team. Please come and experience this Agra and learn beautiful stories about this beautiful city.
Amazing walk filled with such rich and tasteful stories. Taaher and Kaleem were amazing story tellers. Knowing the cities cultural backdrop along with such nice intricate woven stories gave such a englightment
It's an amazing walk through the lanes of Agra. Tahir is an amazing storyteller, and makes the walk interesting with stories from the past, along with the shayari of Nazeer Akbarabadi... Loved the hourels spent!
Spent a lovely Sunday morning on this walk with Alim, who wonderfully ties together the sights and sounds of Agra's busy lanes with historical tid bits. As two women travelling by ourselves, this walk was a great (and safe!) way to explore old Agra. Alim and Kaleem were super hospitable, their excitement to show you around their city is more than apparent. Great way to see how Agra's history lives on through the locals.
Agra Aka AkbraBaad, What a city it was and still it is. Today I walked within the baylane of Agra and vicinity of Agra Fort, i walked through the history with that I walked through the emotions. Agra has lot of to show and say, with that my walk leader *ALEEM DHANANI* has got better way to express each and every aspect. This walk was something beyond my thoughts for Agra and it's heritage. I would really keep joining these walks in coming time.
Agra ka pehla tajurba tha. Kyuki itihaas, tehzeeb, kala, mehfil aur dilchasp kahani qisso ka shauk hai, Agra ko janne ki ye bhot achi shuruaat thi. Kaafi kuch dekhne janne ko mila. Agra me sirf Taj Mahal hi nahi bhot kuch hai. Bhot acha raha Tahir bhai ke sath.
Bahut hi khoobsurat hai ye shehar kuch yaad dila Raha hai or hamari Shobha badha raha hai or Aisa lagi hi nahi yaha root ki me 1 pehali baar aya hu yaha bahut acha experience tha super
