House of Virgin Mary isthe place where Mary may have spent her last days. Indeed, she may have come in the area together with Saint John. This place was offically declared a shrine of the Roman Catholic Church in 1986, and since then it has become a popular place of pilgrimage. Pope Paul VI visited shrine in 1967.
Ephesusis an exceptional testimony to the cultural traditions of the Hellenistic, Roman Imperial and early Christian periods. Ephesus is an important site for Christianity; being one of the seven Churches of Revelation. Apostle Paul probably spent two and half years in Ephesus during his third missionary journey. In two hours, you will be exploring the city by walking on the marble streets, accompanied by our English speaking tour guide. In our tour, we will be seeingOdeon,State Agora,Prytaneion,Memmius Monument,Domatian Temple,Hercules Gate,Curetes Street,Hadrian Temple, andLatriens. The visits to Private House (so-called brothel, 'Terrace Houses’) is an optional visit for an extra 25 ₺/person and your guide should be informed before hand. After Terrace Houses, we will carry on with our exploration withCelsus Library,Marble Road,Commercial Agora,Great Theather, andArcadine (Harbour Road). After lunch; we will carry on with the visit toTemple of Artemis; which is one of the Seven Wonders of antiquity. Here, there will be good chance to shoot photos ofChurch of St. JohnandMosque of Isa Beyfrom the best angle as well.

Sirinceis an old village of ‘Rum’ (Byzantine Greeks) situated on the hills of Selcuk and 7 km from Ephesus. As part of the peace treaty after Turkish National War (1919-1922), a formal exchange of Turkish and Greeks, was agreed upon and Sirince is inhabited by Turkish now. The village is popular for beautiful traditional houses and fruit flavoured wine production; and you will have a free time for some wine tasting.

We had a good time, can easily recommend. Small bus, only 11 people.
Perfect sized tour of the ancient city of Ephesus, well worth the flight from Istanbul to Izmir and onto Ephesus. A visit to the House where the Virgin Mary lived out her last days, and then a great tour of Ephesus, a thriving city back in ancient times. The Temple of Artemis, one of the Ancient wonders is no longer there but what remains gives you a scale of the glory in ancient times. Our guide was great and knowledgeable, allowing stops to make sure no one was too exhausted given the heat. Overall excellent tour!
We went with a small group day trip from Izmir to Ephesus and house of Virgin Mary. The whole trip was very well organised starting from pick up from our hotel right on time. Nijam , our guide was friendly, knowledgable and made our whole trip very enjoyable. We got enough time to visit every place and he described nicely about the history. The lunch was included and was very good.It was good value for money. I will surely recommend this trip to see the world heritage site at Ephesus.
Excellent ruin site. Our guide was engaging and fun and the pace was good gving us enough time on our own after filling us with knowledge plus good weather and no crowds.
Very well organised tour! Hit all the important sites of Ephesus. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and a very nice person
We had a last second idea to visit Ephesus and contacted the company a day before and they were more than happy to oblige. They were very responsive and paired us with Gul as our guide and she was phenomenal. She took care and attention to each detail and answered every question we had. She was a great ambassador to the country of Turkey and the Ephesus tour. I would highly recommend touring with her and with this company.
Highly recommend this tour. The sites were amazing. Especially when learning about the history and religious significance. I have been on plenty of tours around the world and Nizam is absolutely one of the best guides! He was engaging, funny, informative and made the group feel like one! Definitely ask for Nizam - a remarkable human.
Very gud trip . The guide is best MR . Vedanth . He explained each and every thing very precisely. His hospitality was best . The way he took care of his guests was splendid. The entire experience was best
Great tour with Nizam! He’s knowledgeable, personable and fun. The itinerary is great, really enjoyed the ruins in Ephesus and praying at the Virgin Mary’s home. However, the highlight was the town of Sirince. Nizam walked us through the town, introducing us to friends along the way which were super friendly. We enjoyed the atmosphere and some dancing in the street! Book the tour , you wont regret it ☺️ Final note: the lunch provided was delicious!
Loved the tour. Isik was amazing. Best tourist guide we have had. Extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. We strongly recommend her!
1. Attractions are themselves a guarantee to a good trip 2. Fellow participants were pleasant 3. Guide n driver were experienced n professional with the former humourous n quick with it
Highly recommend this tour. Nizam was the best tour guide - funny, educated, and professional. The itinerary was perfect for the opportunity to explore Ephesus and surrounding areas.
Amazing experience of history and spirituality visiting Ephesus and last place of the Virgin Mary. Our guide Melike was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. Gave us a wonderful journey of the history of cultures and civilisations of this incredible place. Highly recommended.
During our trip, our tour guide, Hazen (I hope I got his name right), was simply outstanding! He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the Ephesus region, and we felt very fortunate to have him as our guide. Hazen took great care of our group and provided us with both group and individual insights about the region, as well as global perspectives. This trip made me realize how much better my previous day's travel agent could have been when it came to exploring historic and beautiful places. I highly recommend this tour and Hazen as your guide, if you get the chance to experience it.
Exceptional door to door private service from our AirBnB to the various sights in and around Ephesus in a luxury air conditioned vehicle with an experienced guide. The driver was very safe and the guide had extensive knowledge. Since this was a private tour we were able to take our time at each site: Mary’s house, Ephesus, Artemis Temple, and they provided us with a delicious lunch. Special thanks to our guide Adi Güray.
Knowledgeable and friendly guide Efficient pickup drop off Good communication Perfect planning Be prepared for a full day of touring
Great tour and excellent tour guide. Food was very enjoyable and great flavor. Guide kept the mood alive and with so many details we mostly enjoyed.
Fantastic tour today with Nazim! Highly recommended! Great itinerary and very informative - lunch was also wonderful.
Had a nice and knowledgable guide. Ephesos was interesting and absolutely worth going. I really recommend visiting. Artemis temple was very disappointing. It is an absolutely neglected place, they don't make anything out of it and you couldn't even get close to last column of the temple, we were maybe 400 meters away, just could take a quick photo from the distance. St. Mary's house is also not really worth going if you are not especially religious. Sirince is a tiny little village, a nice 10-15 min walk there, and you could try the fruit wines. Nice to try them. We also did several stops where they try to sell products like sweets, pottery and leather jackets. Most of these stops were ok, the last one at the leather shop was a bit annoying. You are brought to a shop, were can hardly find out yourself and they continuously try to sell you their products for several hundred dollars. They should get rid of this stop. *
We had a very funny and knowledgeable tour guide and it was definitely helpful to get more knowledge about the ancient side and it’s history. Unfortunately, the tour included some unnecessary stopovers in shops that were clearly laid out for the group to spend more money on products …I would have preferred to have more time to walk around and explore the side on my own.
Gur was a great guide, she was very knowledgeable about history. Her english is really good and she was very kind. We went to a very local restaurant and a carpet making studio.
This tour was a humbling experience!! Very educational and gave a lot of insight into the culture and civilization of the people of thousands of years ago. Nizam, our tour guide was just awesome! He was educated on the sights, very well informed, and took the time to ensure we got all the info on what we asked, then some. His knowledge, delivery of the information, humor and personality was just great.
Our guide was so knowledgeable, I learned so much about history. He explained to us about schedule in details at each place and we felt comfortable knowing what to expect. Witnessing what I learned from world history class ages ago in person was incredible experience. Highly recommends who loved history class.
Ephesus although the whole trip was great. Very professional guide and great value for money Dxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
We thought we booked through no frills tour for a day from Izmir to Ephesis on a small group tour. It turned out that we were in communication with Passas tours. They picked our group of 4 up promptly at the appointed time and we travelled to Ephesis stopping at the Virgin Mary's home and then on to the city and then a lunch (included) stop. After lunch we were low pressured to visit a cooperative carpet operation where we found pricing and quality very favorable. We then proceeed to Artemis temple and on to Srince for a wine tasting prior to our return to Izmir. The group was small (8 people) from US, Israel, Switzerland, Uzbekestan and Mexico and English speaking. Overall a great value and wonderful experience. Special mention to our guide, Nissem, who really made the trip very enjoyable and was a wealth of knowledge
The trip to Ephesus was amazing. I wished we had more time to really see the ruins, but the experiences extended to a visit to a carpet producer, Mother Mary's house, Temple of Artemis, organic store of local products (the dried fruit is a must try), and village of Sirince, so there were a lot to see in one day. The guide is knowledgeable, funny and made the tour exciting. Really recommend to anyone visiting this part of Turkey.
I and wife took this tour of Ephesus and were so glad that we did. We were based in Istanbul and planned a day trip to Izmir/Ephesus. Firstly, booking was easy I received instant confirmation and the agency contacted me confirming my booking and took the details of my flight, and assured me about airport pickup. True to their word driver was waiting at the exit gate. We booked a small group tour which became a private tour as there were no further bookings that day. Our Guide Isık was extremely courteous, had great knowledge, had an excellent command of English, and had great conversational skills. We ended up learning a lot about the history of the region. As great as Ephesus is, it would be incomplete without her commentary. Also, she has good interpersonal skills and knows how to tailor the tour to suit the tourists. It ended up being a fantastic trip I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone either based in Izmir or those planning to fly to Izmir for a day. I would once again commend Isik for her professionalism and for making our tour memorable.
Nizam has been a great tour guide and was passionate engaging when telling the story of Ancient city of Ephesus. The tour was managed well and we were glad with the experience
I strongly recommend thah you. the guide was very friendly and professional.i realy liked this activity.
I loved this tour. We were only 7 people so it was easier to get around and listen to the facts on each place we went. We had an excellent tour guide, Nizam, who is very knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time. All the places we’ve seen were great, especially the lunch, carpet, and pottery factory because the tour company supports the local community. We found new friends during this trip. We’ll surely get them again next time we visit Turkey!
The Seckuk and Ephesus group tour was wonderful, our tour guide Isik had great energy and was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of the Roman/ Byzantine sites. It was really worthwhile knowing the background and stories behind the ruins, as they were beautiful, especially the Great Library Facade. We had a lovely lunch that day close to a carpet factory where we stopped and saw in action how silk is spun straight from silkworm cocoons. My appreciation for handmade carpets will never be the same, it was one of the highlights of our entire Turkey trip. We also visited the old Greek town Sirince where we got to grab a bunch of souvenirs. It was a memorable day and we highly recommend Isik as a tour guide!
One word FANTASTIC! I would really recommend Nizam as a guide, knowledgeable and can tailor information to the way that you understand and see the place. He will make you climb up the stairs and see the view of arena to get a feeling of a real spectator and not just a visitor, he knows all the corners of Ephesus and all the stories and definitely loves what he is doing.
Fue una experiencia muy especial y nuestro Guia Nizam súper divertido! Nos contó muchas anécdotas y nos dio idea exacta de cada lugar. Gracias a todo el equipo.
