House of Virgin Maryis the place where Mary may have spent her last days. Indeed, she may have come in the area together with Saint John. This place was offically declared a shrine of the Roman Catholic Church in 1986, and since then it has become a popular place of pilgrimage. Pope Paul VI visited shrine in 1967. The visit to the House (church) takes about 45 minutes and after our visit; there will be a 5 min drive to Ephesus.
Ephesusis an exceptional testimony to the cultural traditions of the Hellenistic, Roman Imperial and early Christian periods. Ephesus is an important site for Christianity; being one of the seven Churches of Revelation. Apostle Paul probably spent two and half years in Ephesus during his third missionary journey. In two hours, you will be exploring the city by walking on the marble streets, accompanied by our English speaking tour guide. In our tour, we will be seeingOdeon,State Agora,Prytaneion,Memmius Monument,Domatian Temple,Hercules Gate,Curetes Street,Hadrian Temple,Latriens. The visits to Private House (So-called brothel, ‘Terrace Houses’) is an optional visit for an extra 25 ₺/person and your guide should be informed before hand. After Terrace Houses, we will carry on with our exploration withCelsus Library,Marble Road,Commercial Agora,Great Theather,Arcadiane (Harbour Road).
We will carry on with the visit toTemple of Artemis; which is one of the 'Seven Wonders' of antiquity. Here, there will be good chance to shoot photos ofChurch of St.JohnandMosque of İsa Beyfrom the best angle as well.
Sirince is an old village of ‘Rum’ (Byzantine Greeks) situated on the hills of Selcuk and 7 km from Ephesus. As part of the peace treaty after Turkish National War (1919-1922), a formal exchange of Turkish and Greeks, was agreed upon and Sirince is inhabited by Turkish now. The village is popular for beautiful traditional houses and fruit flavoured wine production; and you will have a free time for some wine tasting.

Very nicely done small group tour of the Virgin Mary’s last home, Ephesus, ancient city, temple of Artemis, local vilage with fruit wine tasting. Huray was very personable, extremely knowledgeable guide. We Highly recommend this tour.
Our guide was fantastic, very good-natured and did a great job managing the group which was diverse with some young children and older people so we didn’t move very fast. We would have enjoyed more time in Ephesus which was the main reason we came to the area. We did add the Terrace houses (paying additional 15€ each onsite when asked if anyone wanted to stop there - it’s inside the ancient city) though nobody else in the tour did this. We thought it was super interesting to see what an actual Roman house and village looked like. But had to zoom through it since timing so tight and this took even more time away from the short duration to see Ephesus ruins.
Amazing experience! Guide was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and friendly. Would highly recommend.
Guide was awesome knowledgeable friendly and professional Great lunch. Good value.
had a wonderful tour experience. Huray is an excellent guide who shared insightful information about the places we visited and the local culture. She was friendly, warm, and made the journey truly enjoyable. Mr. Shahmitten was also an excellent driver, ensuring a smooth and comfortable trip throughout. Highly recommended. We enjoyed our Turkish lunch, comfortable van and the route that were planned out for us.
Thank you so much for such an amazing tour! Huray was our tour guide and it was so great to have someone giving the tour with such great historical knowledge. The tour company is very accommodating and the Lunch was great!
Booked through Get Your Guide with this company. Excellent day trip. Gulay, our guide, was extremely informative and spoke excellent English. The tour gave us plenty of time at each of the sites, and also included a very tasty, filling lunch. The bus was clean and spacious. We particularly enjoyed that this was a small group experience as it was also very nice to get to meet the other passengers from a wide variety of countries. Ephesus itself was incredible, such an interesting and enjoyable place to visit. I would advise visitors to wear sensible shoes as the marble sloping walkways are very slippery. The village of Sirence was also very pretty and we enjoyed visiting here as part of the trip. Overall, we felt the trip was well organised and good value for money.
Pick up and drop off to my hotel door were seamless. Our guide Nizam (sp?) was amazing. So nice and knowledgeable. He made everyone feel comfortable and made us laugh the whole day. I’m especially grateful for his timing of the day. He kept us ahead of cruise ship groups and out of the sun at the hottest times of day.
Vedat our tour guide was so great! Very informative, informative and FUN!! Took us to Ephesus with AC van and was easy to accommodate our pick up/ drop off.
It was a great tour to see everything in one day. I wish there was no shopping stops. Nixam is funny and great guide to keep you engaged.
Thank you Apasas Travels Well explained all the places The Ephesus tour was amazing With details well explained Thank you
Isik was an amazing tour guide, she went at a good pace, was incredibly knowledgeable and we had an amazing time.she fit in a stop to see how Turkish rugs are made. I highly recommend any tour!
Our trip to Ephesus and the Virgin Mary’s last known residence and Sirince. From the start of our booking the communication from Apasas Travel was excellent. We met with Verdat, our tour guide, who was so friendly and was on time at our hotel for the start of our day trip. We then made our way to our first stop the Virgin Mary’s house (last known residence). As we were collected early there was hardly anybody there so it was a very spiritual and relaxing experience. We then made our way to the historical site of Ephesus which was amazing. Verdat was so knowledgeable about all of the history here. We stopped at a pottery factory where we saw the most exquisite pieces all hand made. There was no harassing to buy anything. They gave us lovely Turkish coffee and we watched them make a piece of pottery demonstration. It was lovely and enjoyable to see this. We then make our way to lunch which was included in our tour and it was a very nice Lunch indeed. After lunch we then went to see carpets and rugs being made at the heirloom weaving centre, again there was no pressure to buy anything but it was so enjoyable to see the craftsmanship behind the making of these rugs some off which take upwards of two years to make. And they gave us complimentary apple teas which were lovely. We then headed to the Artemis temple ruins for photos. We then made our way to the village of Sirince, which is a unique stunning little village famous for it’s wines. A must do while on your holiday. Again no pressure to buy but you can taste a large variety of wines. They also have a small museum which is worth a visit free of charge. Overall we would highly recommend this trip and cannot fault it at all. We would like to thank Verdat our guide and his team for a wonderful day out. Gareth and Lisa (Ireland)
We thoroughly enjoyed our day tour to Ephesus & Sirince, mostly thanks to our guide Vedat - hands down one of the best tour guides we had in Turkiye. He was knowledgeable, detailed & accommodating. We highly recommend this small group tour and if you have any choice of guide, ask for Vedat... you won't be disappointed.
We did a day tour from Kusadasi to Ephesus and Sirince. A van picked us up from our Kusadasi hotel on schedule, and drove us to Selcuk to meet the rest of the small group of six of us in total. Our guide for the day was Nizam.. and what a fantastic guide he was! He was witty, articulate and easy to understand, knew the history where we went, could answer our questions, and kept us all in splits with his anecdotes and stories. He made the tour come alive. He kept us notified about the next places we'd see; how much time we had at each stop, where to meet, and how we were tracking with the schedule. We have had a number of guided tours in Turkey and other countries; and I can, without a doubt, say that he is one of the very best guides we have had. The tour was everything that was stated in the schedule. We visited Ephesus, the Temple of Artemis, and the small and pretty village of Sirince. We were not rushed thru the sights, and had enough time to see what we wanted. We also visited a leather clothing factory, and a carpet weaving / manufacturing place. Thankfully, we did not spend any more time there than necessary. Lunch was at a lovely restaurant; and it wasn't the usual smorgasbord / buffet of not-so-memorable food, as is usually the case in many other tours. We had fresh vegetables, bread, dips, and chicken/meatballs and rice.; all in a nice garden setting, with white tablecloths and great service. I'd recommend this tour. And make sure you ask for Nizam.
This was an excellent trip! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate. We enjoyed the food at lunch. Our hotel was quite far from the site yet we were picked up on time. Overall, lots to see and experience.
This was an excellent tour in which I learned a lot. Very professional organisation by Melike, who was very well informed, and is clearly passionate about Ephesus and about tour guiding. She handled a difficult situation very well when one member of the group got lost. Melike managed to find the person quickly so we could all continue with our tour. Thank you Melike for a great day!
The overall tour was wonderful and well-planned to cover all the agendas. The tour guide (Gül) was really nice and be able to speak fluent English, explains everything clearly with full of information.
This day trip to Ephesus (as well as The House of Virgin Mary, Temple of Artemis and Sirince) was one of the best trips I have been on. Not only were the locations interesting and beautiful, but our day was enhanced by our tour guide Melike, who was extremely friendly and knowledgable about each location. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I would 100% recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Melike was an amazing guide, so informative, descriptive and personable- with a brilliant sense of humour! Our driver Erdale made us feel safe winding up and down the mountains and refreshing our water bottles on a very hot day! The lunch was the best so far! Highly recommend Apasas Travel for booking excursions in the area as it was well organised and on time!
The tour of Ephesus was great despite there being a million other visitors from the cruise ships that day. The guide Nizam Aziz was the best part of the tour. He spoke perfect English, was very informative and entertained us with his very funny jokes all along tje way. He was the reason why the group socialised well during the tour. The negatives was that the visit to Sirince was hardly a visit with no time to view it because the commercial stops took too long.
Our tour guide was really exceptional—personable, knowledgeable, charming. It respected the notion of a small tour (six ppl that day) as opposed to the many tour groups from cruise ships that also visit. My reason for giving four stars is that we spent a lot of time visiting shops—three hours in three shops total which was exhausting. That seems to be the way of things in Turkiye but nonetheless a thorn in my side.
We had taken this tour previously and really enjoyed it, so we were happy to take the opportunity to do it again this time accompanied by my sister. So happy to find that the tour was every bit as enjoyable as we remembered. Having Nazim as our tour guide made everything even more enjoyable. He was considerate and helpful, he was able to tailor our visits to suit all of us and we never felt rushed. A great way to see a lot in one day.
The small group excursion with Nazim was both entertaining and informative. He thoughtfully arranged places and times to suit our particular group. We had done this particular excursion previously and enjoyed it, but this time it was even better.
We took a private tour of Ephesus, House of Virgin Mary, and other surrounding places with Nazim. It was the BEST decision we made, we had a truly wonderful time! Nazim is fantastic, cannot recommend him enough. Tour was well organized and thorough. Especially the Ephesus tour, Nazim is up to date on all of the latest archaeologic finds. The lunch stop was also wonderful - great food, great cause teaching uneducated women weaving skills. We're able to see weaving demonstration and silk process. Cannot recommend this enough!
The tour included a generous amount of activities at a very accesible price, along with an authentic lunch and a visit to one of the goverment backed ateliers foe carpets where I simply had to buy a couple of ones at a very affordable price, taking into account the exquisite quality. The staff at the pffice was very mind an even helped me book other yours and activities at Capadoccia so the rest of my trip was all ser.
We had joined several tours in Turkey. This one was one of the best. The food that we had was very delicious. Our guide was very passionate and patient to answer all of our questions. I’m glad that I took this tour with my friend. Recommended !
What a beautiful trip with lots of explanations about Ephesus and Sirinze by our guide Hüray and driver Ali who drove us through a beautiful landscape. Pick up wn drop off at hotel Dirici in Keşadasi.Alles very well arranged, a delicious lunch on the way, summarized this guide and driver are recommended. JanWillem and Joke Afink
