After greeting, we will have a 2-minute drive to the Ephesus area to visit one of the main highlights in Turkey. Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor) is located near Izmir. As a port city it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor. Walk through history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings. Among them are the Baths of Scholastica and the Library of Celsus (it was built in the beginning of the 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila to be a memorial to his father Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of Province of Asia). The Temple of Hadrian and The Grand Theater are two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. The Grand theatre was built in the 3rd century B.C and it was later expanded to 24.000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D. You can visit Terrace Houses by paying entrance fee to the site
Our next stop is The House of Virgin Mary, located in the Aladag Mountains 5 miles away from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council in 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the discovery of the house, the Archbishop of Izmir declared it as a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited this place and prayed there.

We had a terrific tour Inan. He was extremely knowledgeable and kind. We had a great experience in Türkiye.
We loved our friendly private local tour guide. She was informative, providing friendly advice and catered the tour to our interests. Highly recommended to everyone. We even booked our Istanbul tour directly with them
Seline the guide and our driver were excellent. However, the communication with the travel agency was not positive. At first, they gave us a price that included the admission price to the attractions. They later came back and told us the price did not include admissions costs. We had to pay the admission costs for two different places which were an additional $148!
Excellent guide, very knowledgeable and explains things very clearly, we were very happy and she was able to answer all our questions.
Last week a group of 14 of us took the Ephesus tour led by Yavuz. The tour was amazing! Our guide was friendly, very knowledgeable, and gracious to us as we tried to wrangle everyone at the meeting stops on time. Yavuz was just so kind. I loved hearing about his British shorthair kitty and encouraging him in his steadfastness! Booking was super easy once you have the right email address to email! The team is very responsive. The bus arrived early. The lunch that was included took place at the rug shop and it was DELICIOUS!! That was the best meal we had had so far on our trip to Turkey. What I did not anticipate about this tour (not related to the guide), is that when you’re not at the historic sites, you are going to a leather shop, pottery shop, rug shop, etc. -which is cool because you get to see how those things are made. However, the latter half of your time there is spent hearing a sales pitch. I felt like 35% of the day was Ephesus and sites and the remainder of it was infomercials. Again, not a criticism on Yavuz - this is just an expectation to have if you decide to take this tour. I am thankful that Yavuz was able to work with our deadline and still take us to the pottery shop so I could get a tile for my mom. All in all, I would highly recommend this tour and would encourage you to request Yavuz as your guide!
We were met ontime for our full day tour. Aleyna was our guide, she did an outstanding job of providing us as much information as we could absorb. She customized the tour to meet our preferences.
The tour was excellent with the history and seeing the St John Basilica also it was nice to be the only ones on the tour. We didn't see the House of Mary, seems like we were talked out of it even though what we saw was wonderful. Lunch was great. The carpet place was very very interesting but they were a little pushy. The guide was very knowledgeable and great, however, we didn't appreciate the guide asking for a tip, we were going to give her one anyway but we probably would have given her more. Maybe a sign saying tips appreciated? The history and the whole experience was well worth it.
So the tour guide was good, visiting the ancient and historical ruins was good.. but they take you to a coat factory that claims to manufacture for top brands. THEY ARE FAKE yet you pay top dollar. I've therefore scored it 1 star. By all means go on the tour but stay in the bus for the 2 tours. Complete waste of time and we didn't even finish the tour!!!!
Selena’s, our guide was amazing! She was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the day a special one! Lunch was terrific and our driver was super helpful!
This tour was perfect for our first time in Turkey. Our guide Sel was so wonderful. She loves to share her love of Turkey! Sel listened to our request and personalized our experience to make the most of our time. She made sure we had everything we needed. Our coach was VERY nice and the driver was so nice too!
Had the best time with the best guide Pinar! She was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited and the food was delicious!
Gulshan was our guide. She was very amazing guide there was little rain but it was ok Enjoyed our visit. She was so knowledble
Ozzy was very knowledgeable of the Biblical history of Ephesus. He was friendly and relaxed during the tour. He allowed your own pace and time of the tour. The van was new, clean, and had good air conditioning. His english language was very good and he explains all places and plans for the next stop. The local restaurant proved an authentic tasty lunch. He will allow some customization to your itinerary.
Knowledgeable guide made our day in Ephesus a really enjoyable and memorable experience. Virgin Mary’s house before the crowds and then down to the ancient town. Must visit the terrace houses which are being unearthed by archaelologists for an extra 15Euors which was well worth it!!
Mustafa varici was an excellent guide. Really well explained, good humor and a lot of relevant examples and interesting stories
This was an amazing tour. Very informative and perfectly timed to make sure we got the most out of the experience. Loved every minute.
Fusun was the BEST tour guide! We learned so much and she was so fun and enjoyable! By far, the best tour we had! Our driver, Ali, was wonderful and always had our bus ready and cooled!
Fusun and Ali were wonderful. So great. Ephasus was perfect. Fusion was awesome, the Best. Lunch was great. Did not disappoint.
Fusun, our private tour guide, was a pure delight from the first hello. We had special requests that she was most accommodating of. Her knowledge of the St. John Basilica, House of Mary and Ephesus taught us so much history. We finished off with a delicious lunch where she continued to share stories and history of the surrounding areas. During our time together we learned of modern day living and ancient history of Ephesus and Kusadasi. I highly recommend booking this tour.
Füsun was our tour guide and she was amazing! We were delayed getting off of the ship and she adapted the time we had to our liking and was even able to ask the restaurant in advance to make Lahmacun which is a dish we had been trying to order and were unsuccessful for the past few days.
Orkan was a great tour guide. Provided a lot of information and personalized the tour so we could enjoy every moment. Lunch was delicious!
Great tour! The operator was extremely knowledgeable and kept our interest the entire time talking about the history of our visiting places.
Görken was amazing! Super friendly and a great guide. Had an awesome time seeing all the sights. Would for sure recommend to someone when visiting here.
The tour was very well organized and we were picked up on time at the peer. First, we visited the house of the Virgin Mary and managed to be the first ones on site. Therefore, we had the site to ourselves and were able to dogde the big tour busses and masses of other tourists. The trip to Ephesus was amazing. Our tour guide Ms Nahide was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about the ancient city and about modern Turkey. Having an authentic Turkish lunch was also a great experience and the food was very good. Overall, we were very satisfied with Ms. Nahide and can warmly recommend her tour to anyone who wants to learn about the regional history of Kusadasi.
We had a great tour with Inan. We were able to move at our own pace and go to the sites we wanted to see. House of Mary, Old city of Ephesus, Roman baths, and the hand mag rug co-op was a pleasant surprise. I have a new found appreciation for rugs.
Excellent tour! Our guide - Selda - was superb. She was knowledgeable, professional, personable and very accommodating. Ephesus ruins were spectacular and the tour with Selda was the highlight of our trip. Local lunch was great. This tour highly recommended. When booking, ask for Curio Tours and especially Selda as your guide!
A must-see excursion, necessary if you are going to visit Ephesus (stop cruises in kusadassi). The visit Preciosa, the guide (Rosa) fantastic, very professional and with many explanations in Spanish that made us enjoy very much our excursion. (She is an archaeologist, so no one better to explain and show you all the history behind it.. 🥰🥰) Recomendable 100%
