My family of 8 (4 adults and 4 teens) had a wonderful excursion from a cruise ship with Emma. We first visited the House of the Virgin Mary, then Ephesus (with the Terrace Houses), then the Basilica of St John, and finally Artemision. Emma was a fantastic guide: knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. The tour was very organized and flowed quite smoothly. I would definitely recommend this tour and especially Emma.

Itinerary
Our professional licenced tour guide will meet you at Kusadasi port with Your Name Sign. Drive to The House of Virgin Mary
Our first visit is The House of Virgin Mary is located on the Aladag Mountains 5 miles away from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council on 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the discovery of the house, the Archbishop of Izmir declared there as a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited this place and prayed there. Than 10 min drive to Ephesus upper gate.
We will start visiting one of the main highlights in Turkey, Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor) is located near Izmir. As a port city it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor. Walk through history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings, among them the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus; it was built in the beginning of the 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila to be a memorial to his father Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of Province of Asia. , the Temple of Hadrian and The Grand Theater are two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. Grand theatre was built in 3rd century B.C and it was later expanded to 24.000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D.
We will stop at Artemission Temple where used to be one of the seven wonders of the ancient world as our last stop before drive back to Kusadasi town center and port. The end of our services. Entrance fees are not included in this program. Total entrances are around 17-USD which can be paid to our guide at the end of the tour in cash . Our guide Caran was a local and gave us the best experience. She tailored this tour for us and it was an enjoyable day in port in Kusadasi
Türkiye Ephesus Mother Mary’s House was a great day visit. 5 hour tour. Nejdet Kahraman was exceptional in explaining the tour and very informative of history and culture especially how religions can live together and exist side by side. Lunch was provided and was very delicious at a carpet weaving school and local food. So when you visit look up Nejdet and let him take care of you!
Had a great experience doing the House of the Virgin Mary and Epheus. We were picked up at the port this morning by our lovely guide Yigit. He showed us to our bus and we headed off to the House of Virgin Mary. It was a very wet morning but Yigit gave us his umbrella for a while. He was a very good tour guide sharing all the information and knowledge. Thankfully the weather cleared up for Epheus and it was an amazing site. Well worth going to see when you are in Kusadasi. We had a great day and it was well worth the money. Would recommend to friends if they ever came to Kusadasi.
Great things to see with great organization. Guide Hugo was brilliant. Ephesus and Virgin Mary are great sights to visit
Emrey was our guide during our tour and we couldn't have anyone better. He thoroughly explained the history of locations we visited and we could tell how passionate he was about his culture. He also took us to a rug and leather factory which was such a wonderful experience, our group purchased various items. We asked him where we should have lunch to truly experience the local fare and he recommended we eat at the restaurant located at the rug co-op. It was such a great meal that our group kept raving about it! This tour was one of the highlights of our European tour and we believe it was because of Emrey. We don't think it would have been the same experience had it been anyone else. We highly recommend him as your your guide for future bookings!!
Amazing experience! Didn’t have high expectations based on pictures and the hot weather, but boy was I wrong. It was an amazing tour with our tour guide, Mray. He gave us early Christian History and helped us beat the crowds. He was experienced and knowledgeable about early Christian history. He gave us the option to go shopping at local artisan shops like Turkish rug factory, leather goods store and took us to a local Turkish restaurant. It was an amazing time and the food was spot on! We ended up buying more than we expected but we got great deals with high quality materials. This excursion was a highlight for our trip!
Ersan was a great guide. Took us all over Ephesus with great narrative and even stopped at a ceramic shop on the way back with beautiful pottery and coffee
Informative and entertaining. Our guide was very friendly and she knew how to avoid the crowds and give all the highlights. I could not recommend more. Bus driver was also courteous and professional. Bus was A/C and very comfortable.
There were only 4 of us on our tour and we were picked up from Kusadasi port as we arrived on a cruise ship. Our guide was Tariq who was very friendly and informative throughout our trip - we could not have wished for a better guide. It was interesting to see the last place of residence of the Virgin Mary and the time we stayed was just about right. However, when we saw Ephesus we were blown away. This is a must see site when visiting Turkey. It is quite large and there is plenty to see and for us ranked equally with Petra in Jordan. There is so much that has been uncovered and you would need a full day to do it all justice. Overall a great day out with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Highly recommended. The transport was first class, clean and comfortable.
Excellent trip! Inan was very good, he speaks good English and is extremely well versed in local history, facts, and other pieces of information.
Our tour guide was very easy to understand, pleasant and knowledgeable. Ephesus is not to be missed! Great tour. Mini bus very clean and pickup on time.
This trip was amazing - we had the car to ourselves and our guide, Mr Ozzy was fantastic! Highly recommended tour that was easy and fun!
Mr Alex was the perfect guide. He was so knowledgeable and took care that everyone in the van had a great experience and spent as much time as possible at each location. I highly recommend this tour.
We decided to do this tour instead of the cruise line excursion and it was so worth it. We were prompt to meet with Mr Alex which was a good thing because we beat the big bus tours. Our ride was comfortable and spacious and Mr Alex was great in sharing his knowledge about the tour. We also got a tour of the carpet weaving school which was a nice bonus. It was such a memorable trip for us. I will recommend this tour to my friends and family.
Great tour with a small group of people. Alex was fantastic - very knowledgeable and patient with us. As well as the tour we stopped at a leather factory and we spent way too much money on 2 jackets.
Mrs Senem was amazing ! Even though our tour was for specific stops she obliged in stopping in local spots we wanted to also see !! Make sure you have time to walk around , absolutely beautiful place
What an awesome experience! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, took us to so many awesome local spots for shopping, lunch and a very special carpet weaving experience!
Take us to carpet shop without informing us. He did not get our agreement or permission and just took us to carpet store.
Our main goals were to visit the Virgin Marys house and see the ruins of the Basilica of St. John. Ephesus though was unbelievable. Our tour guide, Gonca, was so knowledgeable. She gave us as much time as we wanted in each place.
Alex was an amazing tour guide. He knew all the right times to get to places before the crowds. I would highly recommend this tour.
Excellent guide, very knowledgeable, friendly and adapt to our pace. Ok time and easy to contact. We came from Canada and enjoyed every minute of it. Definitely recommend !!
The host Selenay made us feel comfortable during the trip . She was very attentive and went above and beyond to make sure our trip was the best . We visited all 3 sites and her great knowledge left us with great admiration of Turkey and its history The transport was comfortable with air conditioning and thank you to the our driver for a safe trip
We chose this excursion over the Shore Excursions on our ship and couldn’t be happier. We met up with our tour guide, Alex, early and were ahead of the crowds to the stops. Tip: Take an empty water bottle and write a petition ahead of time. This tour was marvelous! Alex was quite personable and flexible with us. We got a special tour of a weaving school where we saw the actual making of Turkish rugs. We had time for shopping as well. The communication was excellent from beginning to end. You will love and be satisfied with this tour.
Great efficient way to hit all highlights with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Holy Water from Mary's house worked wonder for my wife's arthritic knee.
Our tour guide Nej was the best! Very knowledgeable and personable. Went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable time.
Great small group tour and Alex was very kind, patient and knowledgeable. Included was a stop at a leather factory which included a fashion show. We purchased several high quality jackets.
Ephesus was an incredible experience, Our guide (Ozi) was excellent at explaining the background and history of it. Ozi has real in depth knowledge of the history and bought it to life with energy & enthusiasm.
We seriously lucked out with our tour with Emrae! We had a van of 9 people and were very comfortable. Our guide, Emrae, was so knowledgeable! Ephesus was fascinating and we loved learning so much. He did great guiding us on one of the busiest days of the year. He also made any stops we wanted and seemed to have connections everywhere with the locals. We felt like we were on a very special tour.
Our tour guide Mr. Orkan was very knowledgeable and funny guy who educated us about the history of Ephesus and House of Virgin Mary and kept us entertained. I will highly recommend his tour and the company.
This tour and set up with the smaller group tour was perfect. Great tour guide who was detailed and walked us around. The driver was on time and we go a very personalized experience. We saw a ton of tour buses and I was happy we did not do that as it would have been hard to get the personalized tour.
Myself and husband had a lovely day at Ephesus and Virgin Mary House. Our tour guide was Pinar and she was excellent. She was very knowledgeable about everything and made our trip extra special.
Very good, professional, flexible and friendly guide, comfortable minibus, family atmosphere being in a small group. We followed straight the agreed visit program, that was exactly what and how we were expecting, without unwanted diversions. Before the end of the tour our guide offered some additional options (at no extra charge) that we as a group kindly declined. The sign with our names was clearly visible just at the exit of the customs, few tenths of meters from the cruiser gangway. Overall the tour was very good and -needelss to say- the ancient Ephesus is a once in your life wonder that cannot be missed.
The tour was excellent. Ms. Nilgun guided us and was very friendly, knowledgeable, and cooperative. The driver helped us get from place to place with ease and our entire family had a great time. I highly recommend this tour to others.
Great service, we ended up with just the 4 from our party for the tour, Ozzy our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable thought-out the tours, he offered us free time and could tell when we had had enough information and wanted to move on. Highly recommend and the price couldn't be beaten.
Enjoyed this tour a lot. Very good host. very informative and allows you to explore on your own if you wish. No pressure to hurry thru the sites. Would recommend. Was waiting at port arrival with sign with our name on it. Smooth and comfortable
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. She was pleasant and took good care of us. Would highly recommend.
Everything was great: approx. 14 people in the group. The tour guide let the group dictate the speed and any additional sites that we wanted to see if any...he was awesome. I forget his name sorry.
Esperienza molto positiva, consigliatissima la visita ad Efeso. La guida, in lingua inglese, è risultata molto simpatica, disponibile e professionale.
Excellent !!! We are very grateful. Excellent!! We are very pleased and grateful. Very punctual and very friendly.
