We visited three ancient cities –Priene, Miletus, and Didyma. Our guide, Kemal, gave us a very detailed account of the daily lives of the ancient Greeks and Romans, explaining how the cities and temples were laid out. What impressed us most were the Temple of Apollo at Didyma and the delicious lunch - we got to try local cuisine, including pide. We highly recommend this tour if you want to fully immerse yourself in the ancient world and see ancient Greece up close. You'll be left with unforgettable memories!

Itinerary
Priene – Set dramatically at the foot of a sheer mountain wall, Priene overlooks the aptly named Meander River. This 2500 years old Ionian city was among the first to be planned with a grid system of streets.
Miletos – These ancient ruins lie on a hill near the Aegean Sea. Explore the ancient theater, built circa 4th century BC. The theater could accommodate over 15,000 spectators. Visit the well-preserved Bath of Faustina, named after the wife of Marcus Aurelius, who ordered their construction.
Didyma – In antiquity, Didyma was connected to Miletos by a sacred road. Visit the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, one of the largest temples from the Helenistic Period. Despite extensive construction, the temple was never fully completed.
Visit a traditional carpet weaving village to discover the art of handmade Turkish carpets, watch local artisans at work, and learn about centuries-old weaving techniques and natural dyes. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious traditional Turkish lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients in a peaceful village setting, offering an authentic taste of Turkish hospitality and cuisine.

Quite an expensive tour but well worth it if you want to see some of the classical ruins along the Turkish coast which are less visited by tourists. A surprising amount to see and we had Priene to ourselves!
A fantastic day with Cem. He was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited and gave us plenty of time to explore. The place he took us to for lunch was also amazing and we shared some lovely local food.
great tour! had a tour guide sit in the van with us and explain about where we were going along with a lot about the culture and other stuff about turkey! very knowledgeable and a great tour! would recommend!
We start the day to Priene with our guide Adam. The first city with the grid System inventes by hipodamus. Our second stop was the City Miletus. Than we had lunch the last stop was the incredible temple of Apolon. We had very good time with our guide. On the way back we stopped by a place where we tried Turkish delight.
The second day we went with Adam to pmd as well. These 3 sites are very interesting but unfortunately not a lot of people are coming. Specially the grid system of priene was wonderfull. Miletos theater and bad complex was interesting. We ate for lunch Turkish pizza called pride that was perfect. Thanks Adam for everything
We chose a private tour and it was perfect. Sites were not crowdy so it was good to visit without a lot of people. It was friendly. Our guide was perfect
We had a fantastic private tour with Cemal. He was incredibly knowledgeable and had tremendous energy and enthusiasm. We booked a tour to see Priene , Miletus and Didyma. The first 2 places were beautiful, Cemal knew them very well and gave us time to explore and take photos and took us to areas the groups don't normally do. For Didyma we were told that it was under scaffolding so we could not see it, so instead Cemal organised us to see a rug-making community (with a delicious lunch!), Sirince, the Temple of Artemis and the Isabey mosque in Selcuk. All in all an experience better than we could have imagined , and we thoroughly recommend Cemal as a guide! The driver from the agency was excellent too, speedy yet safe.
Excellent tour to Priene, Miletus ruined Roman cities & Temple of Apollo complex at Didima (second largest Greek/Roman temple after Temple of Artimis at Ephesus. Lunch was provided on the tour. Excellent tor guide explained all the important aspects of all three sights. The tour company also arranged at the end of this tour to connect me outside of Kusadasi with private transport to Izmir Airport so I could catch my flight to Antalya. I highly recommend this tour and tour company…
The tour was really good. I highly recommend this trip for those who want to discover lesser-known/touristic sites in very good company. The three sites are really beautiful and impressive. The guide, Gül, explains very well. She is very friendly and a very good photographer! The driver was also very nice and helpful.
Temple of Apolla Kusadasi is an impressive site this amazing temple is so large. This site was on a tour & I think one of the best we have seen. Over 2000 years old pay the entry fee & walk among the large columns
This is an truely spectacular tour and must not be missed by anyone with an interest in Greco- Roman architecture or the places of such significance to the foundations of Western culture. The itinerary would simply not have been possible to attempt independently but is a very relaxed day tour with this company in the most luxurious people carrier I have ever ridden in. The tour takes you to the stunning hillside location of Priene which is the first instance of Hippodamian town planning and offering spectacular views from the Temple of Athena by Pytheos. Then on to Miletus, the birthplace of Thales and the genesis of philosophy with its vast theatre and baths. Finished at the Temple of Apollo at Didyma. Although less well known now than the Oracle at Dephi, it was as important in ancient times and another truly monumental structure. These sites are tragically neglected which means there are very few visitors to detract from experiencing these magnificent locations in peace. A special thanks to our host, Filiz. You cannot hope to find a more charming, attentive and most importantly, highly knowledgeable guide.
I booked with Turkey Tour Company for their day trip to the three ancient sites of Priene, Miletos and Didyma. It was a great experience. My guide, Erdem, was fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable with a great personality. Each of the sites has something special to offer: Priene has a well-preserved theatre and interesting temple ruins. Miletos has a theatre and one of the largest Roman baths ever built. I was awestruck at the massive columns and remains of the Temple of Athena at Didyma. These are three must-see sites. And Erdem made the day memorable by adding a stop for chai at a local tea house, fresh squeezed pomegranate juice at the Miletos ruins, and a tasty Pide lunch. Erdem and our excellent driver extended the day by taking me to a carpet cooperative I had wanted to visit. I cannot thank them enough. I cannot recommend them enough - great tour!!
Priene, Miletus, and Didyma are apparently sites that get left out of a Turkish tour because of big names like Ephesus, Pamukkale, and Cappadocia. But for those who love ancient history and anything Greek this is a must see. I can attest to this as a big nerd for Greek mythology. The temples of Athena at Priene and Apollo at Didyma although not as greatly preserved as the Parthenon is still formidable. From the surviving columns you can see how massive (bigger than the Parthenon) they are and wonder how people of the time even can move the pieces to make a temple. Grid city planning was actually first used in Priene. Miletus has a nicely preserved theater and Roman Bath. My guide Erdem was very knowledgeable and explained these nuances. It helped that he is also a fan of Greek mythology (plus points) hehe.
This tour is tour will take you way back in time. The sites are not crowded with tourists and are left in a natural state. So this will give you the opportunity to imagine and feel what is was like to live in ANCIENT GREECE! Highlights are: the columns at the temple of Athena in Priene, Greek Theater at Miletus and the colossal temple of Apollo at Didyma. Our tour guide, Umut, was able to provide us with tons of history facts and guide us into small villages to taste amazing food. Having a local guide is the best experience you can ever have if you want to really dive into Turkish culture and into Ancient Greek histoy. There is no other focus but to just enjoy and take it in.
