Less Walking Tour : Private Ephesus, House Of Virgin Mary, Temple

The tour was great as was the guide. However our Turkish rug we purchased has not been delivered and it is impossible to contact anyone. I am getting ready to contest the sale with my credit card. Very sad ending to a fabulous tour! Note - we created our itinerary so there was no coercion by the guide to go to the rug manufacturer. It’s so disappointing that it was something I was looking forward to having in my home and now will tell everyone to avoid the Turkey rug industry!!!

This experience was absolutely incredible. Totally worth it. I was weary of a 4 hour tour but the time passed so quickly it shocked me. Our tour guide, Alex, was the best- so knowledgeable and kind. Our driver, Ferit, took us anywhere we needed so smoothly. Truly remarkable experience cannot say enough good things.

The experience was excellent, our guide Hazel was very knowledgeable and very understanding of my mother’s mobility needs. We adapted the tour as we wished, whilst Hazel also kept a track on time so we arrived back at the cruise ship in time. The vehicle was very comfortable, with good air conditioning and a supply of water. The driver did an excellent job navigating around the busy roads. A* would recommend to all, with or without mobility issues.

We booked the "Less Walking" tour of the Virgin Mary's house and the Ephesus Roman ruins. Aleyna was our tour guide and she did an amazing job. She arrived early, was responsive to our special needs and conducted an extraordinary tour. We highly recommend Curio Travel.

Excellent excursion - we had Fusun as our guide. She was wonderful and explained things extremely well and took patience on the guide to go slow with elderly folks. This was the best way to see a lot of the city with less walking. We got to see a lot of spots we otherwise wouldn’t have even know about until our tour guide took us there. We had the most amazing tour guide Inan Akpinar.

The tour group company made it very easy to find and meet up with our driver and tour guide. The van was very comfortable and clean; and perfectly sized for our small group. The tour guide, Ozlem, was super friendly and willing to accommodate any special need or adjustment to the routine tour. She was also extremely knowledgeable about Ephesus and the history surrounding the area and region. Ozlem did a great job. The description of the tour on Viator suggested entering each historic site was optional. However, we found that there was little choice when visiting. More importantly, a visit without entering the sites would be pointless. We'd highly recommend the tour company and / or Viator simplify the description and price to be fully inclusive of the transport, the tour guide and all entrance fees at each site.

Great walking tour seeing the stunning Ephesus and other local sights. Our guide, Fusun, was great - knowledgeable, interesting and a great host in general. We would recommend the tour to any cruise ship tourists over those offered by the cruise company! Lower cost, private tour and perfect.

My travel companion could not walk long distances in the heat so I booked this tour in the hope that we could see as much as possible under the circumstances and it did not disappoint! From the time I booked until the time we were met at the cruise terminal the communication was excellent and there were no surprises. The price quoted was the price we paid and there was no haggling and no pressure to attend any leather or rug shopping demonstrations. Our guide, a young woman named Ilknur was very personable and knowledgeable about the history and religious sites, her love for her country was evident and made me wish we had more time to explore. We felt like we were being shown around by a friend and not a tour guide. She along with our driver made us feel welcomed and safe, they even made a detour to their offie to pick up a wheelchair so my travel companion would not have to walk the long pier back to the ship after a long day of sightseeing. Highly recommend Curio Travel and Ilknur!

Our guide picked us up from the terminal and was fun and knowledgeable. We had plenty of time at Ephesus and stopped a turkish rug place that was cool to see.

Had the most wonderful trip with Selin. She most expertly and joyfully showed us her wonderful city and told us all about its history. My mum is disabled, so we decided to skip Ephesus, but still went to the house of the Virgin Mary. Selin, told us how it’s happened to be discovered and answered all the questions that we had for her. She also showed us some wonderful cultural parts of her country which was very interesting to see! Selin, is a very lovely, warm and friendly girl. She has extreme patients and we are so grateful for her time she spent with us today!

This was the perfect amount of time for this tour. We got to see a lot of places without spend a lot of time and doing a lot of walking. Our guide was really good at explaining everything so I don’t feel like we missed out on anything.

This was the best tour of our trip. Ersan was excellent. He was very knowledgeable of the sights and Turkish history. We have mobility issues and he was very accommodating. I would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Kusadasi. His English was vert good.

The tour was outstanding. I contacted the tour group the day before and was given a picture of the pickup location. We were the first ones off the ship and our tour guide was ready for us. We quickly got out to Ephesus and started the tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and answer all of our questions. Because we were early we got to all sites with no waiting lines. Gonca was absolutely AMAZING! She is a gem a human, just as kind as could be. One person in our party was in a wheelchair and Gonca adjusted the plans for us. Sercan, our driver, was also such a huge help. They both helped with the wheelchair, with getting in and out of places, and were so kind about everything. We spent leisurely day with them, seeing sites and taking pictures. Gonna took us early to Ephesus before it was crowded, explained everything we were seeing, and took photos for us. Highly recommended!!!!

very good locations we went to ephasus, house of the virgin mary, and the temple of artemis. we took lots of photos, ersan was our guide and was very friendly and told us a lot of facts about the locations and helped us take photos. the group was very small thank you it was amazing!

We picked this tour over a royal carribean excursion and had the wonderful experience. The cost was less than that for RC and we were able see much more in a shorter time. My husband and 2 boys had a great time. It was very well organized. Our guide, Tansu, was ready for us as soon as we disembarked and took us right into the private car. We saw the house of Mary before going off to Ephesus. It was an especially hot day in Ephesus and our guide tacked an amazing virtual show in an air conditioned theater for the kids and to get us out of the sun. We spent some time at a leather fashion warehouse where my 9 year old enjoyed modeling jackets. After this, we sat down to a delicious lunch together at a family owned restaurant. We ended the day with a quick photo stop at the temple of Artemis. As a first time visitor to Kusadasi, I’d recommend going on a tour over self-exploration given distance of the sites from each other and language barrier. Overall, we had great service and our guide tailored the tour for us. This was very efficient as we were able to skip the lines and maximize our time at the sites. We saved all our energy for exploring Ephesus. We had time to spare before getting back on the cruise. My only critique is that I wish lunch was indoors as it was 40 degrees Celsius on the day we visited. The value was great as private tours are typically much higher than the cruise excursions. I’d do it again!

Our guide Aykut was fantastic, he had so much knowledge of the local history and a pride of modern day Turkey that was wonderful to see and hear about. Absolutely a 10/10 experience that I will recommend to others

Great tour! Our tour guide Jade was very informative and helpful. We went with family and some of our family was older and slower with walking sticks. Our tour guide was patient and able to accommodate a tour with much less walking than others including dropping by us of in front of the tours instead of the parking lot. She also arranged a special local lunch. A++. Thank you!
