Had a great tour! We did the Cats + Ephesus tour. It was a joy feeding the cats and every tour guide greeted Adam as the cat guy! We also got to explore the carpet school and see the magic behind every knot. We even showed up a bit early and he showed us where to enjoy a Turkish coffee while we waiting!
Great experience with Adam! We learned so much about the ruins of Ephesus and got to meet the famous Garfield in the process. Would certainly recommend anyone booking the tour.
Adam is a knowledgeable guide and is very enthusiastic about his hometown. The walk through Ephesus was especially charming, and as a bonus to seeing the historic sites, we got to meet the many cats who come running when they see him, including the famous Garfield. Great day!
It was a great trip including pottery, a fashion show for leather jackets, coffee tasting, lunch, and visiting ephesus. Tour guide was amazing and very funny/fun to hang around for the day.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Tour Guide in Kuşadası & Ephesus! We had a wonderful experience with Erdem as our tour guide in Kuşadası, Turkey. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and made the history of Ephesus so interesting and easy to understand. Erdem took great care of us throughout the tour and made sure we were comfortable while showing us the incredible history and culture of the area. His passion and knowledge really brought Ephesus to life! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and would highly recommend Erdem to anyone visiting Kuşadası or Ephesus. Thank you, Erdem, for making our visit to Turkey such a memorable experience! 🇹🇷❤️
Erdem is the best. Can't wait to come back and do it again!!
We greatly enjoyed this tour — and chuckled that in comparing notes with friends on the cruise, they didn’t have nearly the same kind of (awesome ) experiences that we had on the cruise-excursions. Ours was many things merged into one tour (for less), and even our two 18-year olds thought it was fabulous. All stops were truly enjoyed.
Adam was great he showed us all of the great people and spots in Kusadasi.
Adam was amazing, super knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly very authentic. He brought us to the touristy sites but also to some local spots that really made our time special. Highly recommend vs a more expensive cruise based tour.
Adam was a great guide and kept us well informed of the local customs and how hospitality works in Turkey. We got to see Ephesus , see Turkish cats, see high end Turkish hand made products. Oh, and we got to eat local food and ice cream and Turkish delights
Wonderful time touring with Adam, both in Ephesus and enjoying street food and shopping after. Very knowledgeable and flexible on what our group wanted to do. Highly recommend!
We had an amazing Day with our cat whisperrrer Guide Adam. He is a legend. About History and Stray Animals. His cat Garfield was amazing. He knew him for 9 years. And they got a special bound. His Knowledge of History was the best I ever Heart. Than we went to the Carpet school. They showed uS the way how they made the knots and we Saw the real deal of carpets. Bought 2 Small Pieces. Thanks Adam for Everything when you come around ask for him
This was a great experience so many cats and dogs we got to feed and pet along the way. It was definitely good for animal lovers. Also loved how personal the tour was (just me, my mom, and the tour guide) we were recommending to go early to avoided heat and groups of people on tours, we were happy we did that (there was also more animals earlier). I love the history stories he told us while walking through ruins and he was very funny and personal. The lunch was included as well, the only downside was in the leather and carpet shops definitely made you feel pressure to buy things before leaving. Overall I would highly recommend this tour if you wanna avoid tourism traps and big groups of people!
My daughter and I came to Turkey on a cruise and we found Adam’s tour on Viator. We thought it was the most unique tour and we both love animals so it was a great fit for us. Adam was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the ruins. We loved how the cats were very drawn to Adam. I highly recommend this tour especially if you like animals.
The tour started out amazing. It is clear Adam had a great relationship with the cats of Ephesus and the other tour guide there. He is a very good guide, knows a lot and explains history very well. He is also the cat whisperer! Every cat in the ruins knows him! Following the tour, we were taken to a carpet school where they make and sell carpets. There was a VERY brief tour of the carpet making process and then we were brought into a room where the workers laid out probably 15 carpets for us to look at and test. It was obvious there was some sort of commission/partnership with Adam and this carpet company. We were heavily pressured to buy these carpets from the locals. I guess because we are American tourists, they assumed we had enough spare money laying around to purchase 2000-15000$ rugs. It definitely felt predatory. Following that, lunch was provided by the carpet school. It was delicious and local fare! The lunch was seriously amazing. Following that, we were brought to a wine shop to taste about 8 different wines. There were cats outside the shop and they came into the shop and we pet them. The wine was good. It seemed there was another similar partnership or commission thing with the wine ship as well, although far less predatory than the rug place. Following that, we were taken to a leather shop. There was a very brief tour of the shop. Then, They put on a fashion show for us with some of their leather products. This led to a sales pitch yet again, although less predatory than the rugs, there was pressure here as well. From the wine shop, one of the fellow passengers in our group mentioned the temple or Artemis, and the ruins of Ephesus. Adam made plans with the driver to go out of the way to visit these ruins and that was a very nice gesture. On the way back to the port, I am not sure why but Adam said the next time we visit “to bring more money to buy things” to support the local economy of Turkey. And how a lot of things such as Greek yogurt and tulips are all originally Turkish and have been taken from turkey. Somehow there was a connection between that and us not buying leather or rugs. We passed a crowded beach by the cruise ship and Adam said that “these tourists are stupidly idiots” for swimming by the cruise ships… he said this to a whole van full of tourists. This made us feel a little frustrated and awkward. Like you can’t say that about the tourists who help boost your economy after complaining that they didn’t boost your economy. We were then dropped back off at the port. If it was just the Ephesus tour and lunch, this would be an easy 5/5 because Adam is a great guide. But the pressure of the carpet and leather shops combined with Adams harsh comments about tourists left a bad taste in our mouths. Hence why I am leaving a 3/5 star rating.
Adam was a great tour guide and did a great job helping us visualize what the ancient city of Ephesus looked like. We also got to meet the famous Garfield of Ephesus!
Adam was a great guide- very knowledgeable about the area, full of humor, but most importantly- the "Lord of the Cats". He introduced us to Garfield (and many other cats), which was a highlight of the day! Highly recommend!
Absolutely fantastic to see Ephasus. Adam was a very knowledgeable guide. The cats love Adam.
Adam was great! We really enjoyed the tour
Adam is an excellent tour guide! He was friendly, funny, informative and hospitable. He is a a cat lover and is very kind especially to Garfield. We went where they make carpets and pottery and both were very interesting tours. He made the wine tour very fun! I highly recommend taking the tour with him.
Amazing experience!! Loved Adam, he is very personable and funny! He made sure we were all enjoying ourselves, overall no complains. Made the trip worthwhile and fun! Would do again 100% and definitely recommend anyone who is looking to go to Turkey!! Make sure to check out the famous Garfield’s instagram page!! (Garfield is the super cute orange tabby!)
I had a wonderful experience on this trip and would highly recommend it to anyone considering it. The scenery was beautiful, the itinerary was well organized, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. A special thank you to our guide, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to answer questions. One of my favorite things was hearing stories about his cat, Garfield, who became a fun and memorable topic throughout the trip. Garfield’s adventures and personality added a personal touch that made the experience even more enjoyable. Our guide’s enthusiasm, sense of humor, and attention to detail made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. It was clear that he genuinely cared about ensuring we had a great experience. Overall, this was a fantastic trip filled with great memories, and I look forward to traveling with this company again in the future.
Had a wonderful time! Adam and his cat Garfield were so hospitable. It was like traveling with a family member. Super energized and knowledgeable.
Adam and garfield were amazing super fun tour
This was such a fun twist to the typical historical tour of Ephesus. We really enjoyed meeting Erdem (Adam) and learning from him on this excursion. Even though we are no longer allowed to feed the cats personally on this tour, we got to see him feed the cats and even a couple of dogs who were out amongst the ruins. Those animals love him and we loved his commitment to their well being. Adam knows his stuff and is such a fun, entertaining presence. Lunch was excellent and we actually really enjoyed the demos of the Turkish rug manufacturing. The tour does include the rug store and a leather store. Purchases aren't mandatory, though. Take this tour and support Adam in his efforts to take care of all of these free roaming animals. He has a great heart and is very knowledgeable.
Highly recommended. Erdem (Adam) was an excellent tour guide who knew every part of the ruins front to back, was very engaging, funny, and also careful and attentive. There's a part of the ruins that can be quite slippery, even in hot and dry conditions. He made sure to walk us through safely and explain everything well, with an endless list of stories and interesting facts. As for the cats! I would again say he is NOT overselling, and it does make the trip entirely unique. We met (and pet) Garfield, as well as many other cats. We even overheard other guides talk about the cats and Erdem's special status as their friend; they all run up and say hi. Lots and lots of cat stories. Finally, the lunch was good and the carpets were of exceptional quality. You just need to be aware that both the carpet trip and the leather store (featuring a fashion show!) are very much opportunities to make purchases, though neither are required. Thank you Erdem!
Tour guide Erdem was great. He is big animal lover which we enjoyed being away from our animals! Great experience, got to see many Turkeye sights.
Had the best tour with the Cat Guy !! Exceeded our expectations!!
Great tour of the old town of Ephesus with stops at local factories for Leather, Handmade rugs, wine tasting and a great lunch! Erdem/Adam took us around and gave us an excellent experience.
Great guide that gave a tour tailored to us and was very, very accommodating. The wine was especially delicious. He loves cats and made them part of the tour.
We had a wonderful day with Adam! Our family was guided around Ephesus, and were delighted to meet the cats and dogs that Adam has befriended over the years- they came running when they saw him! He was engaging and our kids loved him. We felt comfortable with him and he was an excellent guide. We also stopped at a carpet weaving school, a small family pottery shop/factory, and had a delicious lunch of toasted sandwiches, and Doner ) we were lucky to visit on a Saturday when the market was open), then some ice cream, and a stop for Turkish coffee and some of the best baklava I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this tour and Adam specifically. In fact, my parents are coming to Kusadasi in October and will absolutely be recommending this tour to them. Thank you for a memorable day!
We had a fantastic tour of Ephesus with Erdem! He was incredibly accommodating of my mother's mobility issues and made sure she could comfortably enjoy the site. Erdem was knowledgeable, personable, and funny, bringing the history of Ephesus to life while making the experience enjoyable and engaging. It was also lovely strolling through the ancient site and meeting the animal residents including Garfield. Highly recommend!
Erdem is a true cat lover and gave us the best tour. He genuinely cares for the cats and their welfare. They run to him with one shake of his cat food container. Garfield is adorable and the history tour was so interesting. He’s a patient and knowledgeable tour guide. Highly recommend.
Such a fun day! We spent the whole day with Adam and he took us to the best places.
Great tour guide! The Cats were fun! Wine and Food were delicious! Highly recommend, he is very straightforward with all customers, very nice!
Adam was awesome! Definitely recommend if you want to have a very insightful and fun day in Turkey.
This was a great tour! Adam was very knowledgeable, and made the trip feel like you were hanging with an old friend, who happened to know everything you would need. Took us places that didn’t feel touristy, and had great recommendations! 10/10 would book with again.
Friendly tour animal loving guide, Our guide was adam he fed the cats in ephesus and shared all his knowledge. Thank you
My family spent the day with Erdam around the Kusadasi area. Every tour guide can tell you that the Bay of Ephesus has receded six miles, that the Temple of Artemis was an ancient wonder of the world, and show you the stunning Library of Celsius. It is HOW you do it that makes the difference. Erdam was kind, friendly, and funny. It felt like having a new member of the family for the day. His attention to our seven year old and his fondness for the cats of the area really stand out. Highly recommend Erdam to anyone visiting the area.
