Located 6 km north of the ruins of Ephesus, a church was built in the 6th century AD over the foundations of a 1st-century house, which the Church has declared to be the final residence of the Virgin Mary, where she spent her last days.

Our tour guide Aybi was wonderful yesterday. We was very organized and knowledgeable about the places we visited. Ephesus was amazing. Just wished it wasn’t so hot - but that was nothing that could be helped. The van we traveled in was older and the AC wasn’t function well in the morning. The visit to the House of Mary was very moving since we are Roman Catholic. Lunch was good but not sure why we had to attend the carpet demo. Would recommend the tour and guide.

Our beautiful day was spent with Volgha or Olga as we learned during our journey. She is so knowledgeable and such an experienced tour guide. We learned about many aspects of there culture, the people, religion, main production, food, etc. Our tour was in Spanish but Volgha speaks many languages. The driver also did a wonderful job! Both were very punctual and very nice. We were lucky to have them and share an amazing day at Kusadasi visiting the house of Virgin Mary and Ancient Ephesus!!!! We truly recommend this trip, it should be how you spend your day in Turkey if you are coming on a cruise.
