Ephesus Tour With Virgin Mary From Izmir All Inclusive

My daughter and I visited Éfeso. This is our first time in Turkey. The day trip was very good specially because our tour guide Erman managed to make it very enjoyable, and he was attentive to the weather and the needs of the different people . ERMAN did an excellent job. great driver even in the poring rain. don’t expect much from the lunch though.

We had a fantastic experience with our guide, Erman, visiting the ancient city of Ephesus, the Sanctuary of the Virgin Mary, and a local ceramic shop. He is incredibly knowledgeable and shared the history and culture of the area in a very engaging way. Being from Izmir himself, you can really tell how passionate he is about his region and his work. He was also extremely kind, friendly, and attentive throughout the whole tour. We definitely recommend it!

Erman was the BEST guide. Not only was he knowledge, but made the tour enjoyable, upbeat, and accommodating. I had a fun time and would come back with family the next time I’m in Turkiye. I got picked up from the airport which is a nice touch, and everything was timed intentionally.

Our guide Mr. Ekim Ates, was awesome. Very polite, knowledgeable, easy to communicate with and provided a full day of insights and valued information. I would suggest strongly with the tour company “ Gezenthi Travel Agency” that they consider providing a microphone headset and earphones for the tour, as this would ease the guide from talking over the many different tour groups, gathering within the same are.

Overall great experience. Our guide Erman did a great job on conveying the information about each of the sites. Very cordial person and was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend. One piece of advice would be to lose the two “sales” stops. We were taken to a Turkish rug maker and although the demonstration was interesting, the last part was an ask to purchase in another room. And later we stopped at a store for similar tasting. Neither stops were part of the published itinerary and we felt a bit awkward.

We had an amazing experience exploring the ruins around Izmir with Erman. He was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history to life with great stories, not just dates and facts. He was friendly, patient, and made sure everyone could keep up and enjoy the visit. He also knew the best spots for photos and how to avoid the crowds. Honestly, it was the highlight of our trip. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn and have fun at the same time!

Ekim is a witty, enlightened, and cheerful guide! He really has a sparkling yet firm personality and clearly everyone on the tour enjoyed him, his guidance, and his leadership.

Amazing tour of Ephesus with our guide Erman He is magnificent and extremely professional. What I loved the most is that he stayed with us the whole day, like a true professional guide should. At every place he explained everything in detail, showed us all the highlights, helped us with photos, and made sure the whole group stayed together before moving to the next station or monument. He was always with us, gave us plenty of free time, and was very punctual and organized. He speaks many languages and is very, very professional. I would definitely recommend him. Comprehensive visit covering all key sites with lunch included. We appreciated Ekim’s historical knowledge and perspectives and his caring stewardship of the group very much. It was indeed a day well spent!!

The 8 hour tour was all inclusive including lunch at a price of around £105 p.p. Pick up process ran smoothly and we were picked up on time near our hotel The first stop was at a high end pottery factory in Selcuk. Then moved on to Ephesus for a two hour tour. Our guide Ekim was very amiable and knowledgeable and he imparted many interesting facts about the city's history. He was only too happy to answer any questions. From Ephesus we had a one hour lunch break. The selection of food on offer was quite poor for British tastes unless you are vegetarian. From the restaurant we briefly visited the Virgin Mary House. Then it was on to the Artemis Temple, one of the Ancient Wonders of the World. The final stop was at a store selling some top quality Turkish Delight, teas,oils, spices and perfumes all made from locally sourced ingredients yhen it was back to Izmir

Ekim, our tour guide was very kind and profesional, his knowledge from the old civilization and the history of his country was very impressive. We enjoyed the tour to Ephesus, for us was a great experience. Kim was a very good guide.

Our tour guide Alphe was phenomenal. He was very personable, friendly, and his English seems like it’s on a native level. He’s very easy to understand and speaks loud enough that you can hear him. He is very knowledgeable about history and I really appreciated the abundance of information he gave us on our tour. I can’t say enough good things about him as a guide and I’ve done a lot of tours over the years with guides. The tour itself was great too. I enjoyed all the stops we did and felt we had enough time at each location. The buffett lunch was delicious too. I also was glad we stopped at a gas station on the drive to use the toilet.

If you are lucky, Alperen will be your guide. He speaks perfect English and is a history / archeology geek! He’s super knowledgeable friendly and enthusiastic about what he does. Great experience. The tour guide, Genghis, an older man walked so fast through the ruins, it was very difficult to keep up. Walking fast to keep up was dangerous as the stones on the street were mostly a smooth slick marble. My foot slipped a few times. The guide was supposed to raise his orange umbrella which many of the guides had orange umbrellas but hardly used it.. At the end of the tour, he took us to a Turkish rug store with very, very high pressure salesman. When I wanted to wait outside, he almost forced me to stay. I left the store to wait outside for my wife and the rest of the tour group. The guide, Genghis, came out side and told me to go back inside, to which I told him no wanted to get some fresh air. After a moment one of the employees of the store came out and again strongly suggested I go back into the store. The group that went upstairs was also pressured to purchase a woven rug.

Excellent tour! Well organised, on time, comfortable Van, how driver. Erman was my guide, good spoken English and very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend this tour.

I had a wonderful experience on the Ephesus tour overall and would definitely recommend it. Our guide was amazing — the pickup was smooth, he was punctual and very professional. I found him to be extremely well-educated and full of knowledge. He explained everything really well and made the tour interesting and enjoyable. My only suggestion for the tour agency would be to allow a little more time at each location and avoid making the tour feel rushed. It would also be great to have some additional time to sit and relax during such a long day. The lunch break was supposed to be around 40 minutes, but in reality it was hardly 25–30 minutes, so there wasn’t much opportunity to relax. That said, overall I really enjoyed the experience. The guide was excellent, the organisation was good, and the tour was very informative. I would definitely recommend it and would be happy to book with them again.

Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary We had a full day with our tour guide Elcin, who made sure that we saw and experienced everything that we could in and around Ephesus. She was very informative about the site and interested in helping understand the area and its importance in history. Our two hours at Ephesus itself seemed to pass in a blink of an eye. In addition to Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary, Elcin and our driver, (lucky) John, took us for refreshment stops and lunch at interesting places where we could see clay pottery, carpet weaving and a leather fashion parade! Highly entertaining and helped the day pass far too quickly. A great time had by all of us.

I went on this wonderful trip to Ephesus with my daughter and a friend, and we all had a truly enjoyable experience. Much of the credit goes to our guide, Alperen, who was both very pleasant and a true professional. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared fascinating information with genuine enthusiasm and infectious joy, making the entire visit even more memorable. We would also like to thank our driver for the safe and comfortable journey. We highly recommend this experience!

Headliner Mother Mary house which was primary place for me. However we arrived at end of day and given 14 minutes. Very disappointed. Heavy emphasis on ruins spending hours there. Rest of time tourist traps such as art place

It was a wonderful tour, guided by Erman Uslu. He was very knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable. He made sure we were the shade considering it was a hot day, which I value. The included lunch was delicious and it was buffet style. As a solo female traveler, I felt comfortable and safe.

The one day tour to explore the old city of Ephesus and the House of Virgin Mary is great, however some points can still be improved: 1) more clear explanation & more interactive communication from the the tour guide, 2) more time to explore the old city of Ephesus, since the admission tickets fee has already been expensive.

Very informative tour - I learned things about the history of Turkey, Izmir and Ephesus. The Virgin Mary's house (VMH) was a must see for me when I planned the trip. It was challenging finding a tour from Izmir not catered to Cruise tourists and one that included VMH. This tour checked off all the boxes for me and delivered on everything plus more. Alperen, the tour guide was amazing, connected with and engaged the group well, managed the time well and nothing was rushed. He even provided recommendations for my impromptu stop at Izmir city and guidance for my way back to the airport after my city visit. John, our driver was great on the road.

I did tour with Erman for two days (Pamukkale and Ephesus) and the Erman was excellent guide. He has a knowledge and explains very well. Excellent tour guide and I recommend to all! The tour schedule was well arranged though I wish I didn’t stop by the stores. I prefer to return early rather than shopping. But this is my preference. Only thing it could be better was food in Ephesus.

This was the BEST tour we’ve taken whether in Europe, North America, Asia, or Africa. The sights were very interesting and our guide, Alpi, was the best ever. He is a warm, personable, considerate, funny, gentle, and knowledgeable person whose love and knowledge of his country shines through in a genuine and endearing way. He took good care of our group, shepherding us through Ephesus and the last home of the Virgin Mary. He also has a great understanding of other nations. Alpi is an engaging young man who is happy to talk with you but also willing to give you space and quiet if that’s what you prefer. The trip is a bargain for what you get. Alpi and our driver, Aykut, made it unforgettable!

We had a great day visiting Ephesus. Erman our tour guide was very personable, informative, and eager to share his knowledge of the history of Ephesus. The site was very crowded with thousands of people visiting from cruise ships that were in port but given the importance of Ephesus it's no surprise that we were not the only ones wanting to see it. The van that took us from Izmir to Ephesus and back was very new and comfortable and the ride smooth and uneventful (thank you to the driver). The tour included a stop at a buffet restaurant for lunch (included in the tour price) - I appreciated that I could just go up and get what I wanted from the buffet line (as opposed to having to order from a menu and wait for it to be served) and the large shady eating area was most welcome after spending 2 hours in the sun at the Ephesus site. We did the optional stop at Mother Mary's House (others on the tour spent the hour in Selcuk) - the house you can visit in 30 seconds - it's literally just a single room that you walk through - but the surrounding park was cool, shady, peaceful, and a fine way to rest and relax for a while.

I really liked how our Ephesus tour guide Erman paced us through the full day tour- with just enough information, stories, tasting new things and breaks nobody got tired. Being multilingual he addressed group members in different languages if anyone missed smthing in English, which was pretty cool. Love my day! Looking fwd to booking again through this agency.

Great experience! And Erman is a Great guide. Unfortunately we couldn’t make it to Artemysse’s temple because of a bicycle’s race that caused roads to be closed.

Excellent experience due to the quality of the Guide, Erman who provided a great overview of the history of Ephesus and highlighted key features that would otherwise have eluded us. Plenty of few time. Unhurried cheerful pace. Lovely lunch. Bus very comfortable. Price very reasonable. Collected from hotel. Could be offered without visit to ceramics, which although beautiful were far too expensive.
