Very disappointing. The tour was not what was advertised. We visited places that were not on the itinerary. The amount of time for the important sites were halved. The guide was nice but allowed participants excessive freedom causing group delays. The guide had a different itinerary than we purchased through TripAdvisor. Tour not worth the excessive price and extremely disappointed!

Itinerary
We starts our tour pick up service from any hotel you stay in Izmir. If you are booing your Ephesus with us and you stay in Kusadasi, it is first pick up location which is going to depart 07:30 am and continue to Selcuk where there will be meeting with other participants. After everyone comes together tour starts with the House of Virgin Mary. House of Virgin Mary is the place where Mary may have spent her last days. Indeed, she may have come in the area together with Saint John. This place was offically declared a shrine of the Roman Catholic Church in 1986, and since then it has become a popular place of pilgrimage. Pope Paul VI visited shrine in 1967. The visit to the House (church) takes about 45 minutes and after our visit; there will be a 5 min drive to Ephesus.
we will carry on with the visit to Temple of Artemis; which is one of the Seven Wonders of antiquity. Here, there will be good chance to shoot photos of Church of St. John and Mosque of Isa Bey from the best angle as well.
Ephesus is an exceptional testimony to the cultural traditions of the Hellenistic, Roman Imperial and early Christian periods. Ephesus is an important site for Christianity; being one of the seven Churches of Revelation. Apostle Paul probably spent two and half years in Ephesus during his third missionary journey. In two hours, you will be exploring the city by walking on the marble streets, accompanied by our English speaking tour guide. In our tour, we will be seeing Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domatian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, and Latriens. The visits to Private House (so-called brothel, 'Terrace Houses’) is an optional visit for an extra 25 ₺/person and your guide should be informed before hand. After Terrace Houses, we will carry on with our exploration with Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theather, and Arcadine (Harbour Road).
Sirince is an old village of ‘Rum’ (Byzantine Greeks) situated on the hills of Selcuk and 7 km from Ephesus. As part of the peace treaty after Turkish National War (1919-1922), a formal exchange of Turkish and Greeks, was agreed upon and Sirince is inhabited by Turkish now. The village is popular for beautiful traditional houses and fruit flavoured wine production; and you will have a free time for some wine tasting.

Our tour guide was amazing and I’d rate her higher if possible! She knew so many facts and kept the trip interesting with history and funny stories and jokes! The ruins are beautiful and in great condition. Highly recommend this tour!
Very good day, expensive but good.
Excellent guide with lots of knowledge. She took care if every detail. We spent a wonderful day. Thanks Huray
Our guide, Huray, was fantastic. She kept us at the perfect place, was very informative and enthusiastic. It was a great day and well worth the admission.
Huray is a wonderful person\! We were extremely pleased with her service and thoughtful attention\. She explains everything clearly, speaks excellent English, and has extensive knowledge of the area\. She took us to incredible places, giving us the opportunity to explore and learn more about the local culture in Turkey\. We highly recommend her\! Thank you, Hüray, for such a memorable experience\!
This was such an enjoyable and educational tour. Hüray was very knowledgeable and was giving great tips to maximize the experience. Ephesus is a must and the interactive experience was just wow!
We had a lovely day with our guide Hursy. She was very informative and friendly. She made every effort to ensure we had an enjoyable experience.
It was very informative, Amaxing site. A bit discouraged for all the construction going on. But understandable. A long journey from Izmir. Consider to stay near Ephesus to avoid a long journey from Izmir.
Excellent experience wirh huryawas really Nice experience for to knlw history
This was a moving experience for me beginning with the House of Mary. It is the reason I came to Izmir and I was not disappointed. Booking with Tripadvisor gave me the best rate. I was very lucky and grateful my hotel was one they offered as a pickup place. It was a long day and I feel I got more out of it than I paid for. I was picked up at 7:30 and got back to the hotel at 5:00 pm. The van was extremely comfortable and was completely full. As a solo traveler it was nice to spend the day with 15 other people with the similar interests. Our guide was fantastic, she was patient with divers group, she made the trip fun and was very accommodating. Not to mention extremely knowledgeable about all that we visited this memorable day.
A very interesting trip to Ephesus and Sirince. Our guide, Gul, was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. On top of that, the organization was excellent and the lunch delicious.
Great experience and wonderful tour guide. Great lunch even for vegetarians! Time was well allotted. Great information from the tour guide along the way!
Huray our guide spoke excellent English and shared great info about all the sites we visited. The driver was on time and courteous. The price included all entry fees and also a lunch and wine tasting. Great value for money.
Huray Iladiz was a pleasure to have as a guide, lovely personality, full of knowledge. I can’t say enough about her. Wonderful experience for a great price. It included the admission and a good lunch. It went from 7:30 to 4:30! I’m tired but very happy with the experience! Comfortable ride with ac , small group of 12.
Hruye was amazing and showed us everything we needed to see today. Lunch was good open buffet with lots of meat.
Lots of information and history was amazing. Gide Guray was very friendly and helpful. Made trip nice and relaxed
Huray was an exceptional guide that told the stories of art and history super well! I recommend having cash instead of card and to bring lots of water, sunscreen and a hat. Thank you Huray for such a lovely day!
Hüray was an excellent guide, part informative and part humorous. She also was good at corralling all of us through the sites. The tour lengths were appropriate for each site: not too long and not too short.
Great tour driver and great guide, we enjoyed our day seeing different sites and towns, learning some history, and enjoying local cuisine.
We had an excellent tour of Ephesus with Huray as our guide. From the very beginning, she clearly explained the plan for each stop, making the day well organized and easy to follow. Her English was excellent, and she shared detailed, engaging information throughout the tour. At the House of the Virgin Mary, Huray provided fascinating historical and cultural context, and at the ancient city of Ephesus she brought the site to life with her knowledge while patiently answering all of our questions. She also made sure everyone stayed together and no one got lost, which made the experience very comfortable and stress-free. Although the Temple of Artemis is a shorter stop, she gave us enough free time to explore and take photos at our own pace. Lunch was another highlight—Huray arranged a delicious vegetarian meal at a lovely local restaurant, which we really appreciated. We also enjoyed strolling through the charming village of Şirince with enough time to explore on our own. Overall, Huray did a fantastic job. She was knowledgeable, organized, friendly, and attentive throughout the day. Her passion for the history of the region and her thoughtful planning made this one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend taking a tour with Huray. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Great experience seeing Ephesus and Hüray was a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide that made the day informative and smooth!
Great tour! We arrived at the House of Mother Mary at the perfect time and were able to avoid the large tour crowds. This gave me the opportunity to enjoy some meaningful spiritual moments. Our driver was friendly, and our tour guide, Ms. Huray, was both warm and highly knowledgeable. The lunch was excellent, and Ms. Huray took the time to sit with us and explain the dishes we were eating, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable tour.
Wonderful experience.. of interested in history, highly recommended when in Turkiye. Well informed and amazingly trained tour guide. Realistic time management where you doesn't feel rushed at the time all points are covered in depth.
Mehmet was an incredible tour guide and made the experience truly memorable. He shared so many fascinating facts and interesting stories about each site that brought the history and culture to life. The entire tour was well organized, enjoyable, and the lunch was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for an informative and wonderful experience!
The worst thing about this tour company was their lack of communication, and, for that reason, I would not recommend using this company. I purchased this tour specifically because it said that we could purchase the option to see the terrace houses, and I'd messaged the company 3 times over three weeks preceding our tour date to inquire about it; no response at all. When I told the guide the morning of the tour that I wanted to add the terrace houses, she said it wasn't possible. It was only when I showed her my messages that she said she could give me 20 minutes to see the terrace houses at the expense of the library (the main structure to see). Sadly, that isn't where the disappointments ended. We spent over half the tour on pointless tourist attractions: first a carpet seller disguised as lunch and then a small town that specializes in the production of the most disgusting wine I've ever tasted. I do NOT recommend this tour. All of the other tour companies we used during our time in Greece and Turkey communicated with us (at least about the pickup time the night before), and this one rushed through the sites at Ephesus without adequate detail, explanation, or opportunities for photos. If they hadn't wasted half the day at the tourist buying sites, that would have been understandable. In this case, they need to drop the tourist town and spend adequate time at Ephesus.
Our experience was good not great. We did a private but want to customize some things that weren't allowed to do. We would have like to include the Ephesus Museum and spend additional free time there. We also would have included St. John Bacillica but that was not included nor could we add it.
Nizam is a very experienced guide who knows all the right spots to check out and can also provide the relevant historical context. He managed the timeline of our tour perfectly so that I wouldn’t miss my flight.
That travelers shoud be patient- traficks in Izmir are big:)takes time while you leave the city, after that you all the time during this trip will enjoy of your decition to visit those two places
The day was rainy and cold but Ephesus is a magical place and our guide Huray and young driver (sorry, I forgot his name :-( ) made it excellent. Being shown the wonders of life thousands of years ago by such a knowledgeable, resolute and charming young woman made it that much better. My wife and I highly recommend the experience - ask for Huray by name!
Mr. Cetin Dogan was out tour guide in Pumakkale , Ephesus area. He is not only very knowledgeable but also a very pleased and accommodating professional. We were group of 5 and all share this very favorable opinion. We would book with the same tour company in the future providing they would let us have the same tour guide.
Our tour was great - Ephesus is amazing. Our pickup was on time and the ride was very comfortable. Our tour guide gave us great information. But we wished he would have given us enough time to take pictures. It felt a little rushed, starting at the very first spot which is a beautiful Amphitheater and that carried throughout the tour - If you are planning to take the tour, please talk to the guide as soon as you can to ensure you get time to take pictures with your family. We made a stop at the carpet place which was not really needed. We would have preferred to use that time at Ephesus instead. We were also taken to a glass blowing/mosaic place. But instead of visiting It, half of our tour folks (and including us) decided to visit the ruins that are close by - they were so worth it. If you are taking this tour, carry bug spray. There were a lot of mosquitoes at the House of Mother Mary and at Ephesus. Despite challenges with respect to feeling rushed, I am giving it a 5-star review since Ephesus is absolutely amazing.
Pickup on time , tour guide Nesiam was awesome.
The tour guide, Hüray Ilasiz and the driver, Ömür, made this experience pleasant and memorable. They’re so friendly and punctual.
This was the best day tour ever. A very friendly and punctual tour guide made it a pleasant experience.
The tour guide was great. Very knowledgeable. Pickup from our Hotel was prompt. Great experience at Ephesus.
The tour was well organized and timed perfectly. Highly recommended tour agency! Our tour guide Nazim was really great and knowledgeable about the historical sights that we visited. We are very happy we went with Apasas Travel.
Guide Arshan was very experienced and friendly. The tour was managed very professionally. We loved the experience. The lunch could have been better.
10/10. The host was phenomenal in explaining the history, the variety in activities throughout the day between the ruins, witnessing a carpet/textile site near the ruins, lunch and then finishing in Sirince made for a phenomenal day. Must do activity when you’re in Izmir
Excellent guide, highly recommend tour. We really enjoyed her thorough explanations of Gul and the kindness and professionalism of the driver, Ali .
What a great tour!! I was a solo traveler and I had the best experience!! The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and made things interesting. The lunch was nicely presented and very enjoyable.
This was Excellence at its finest, from pick up to drop off, I was blown away, on time pick up with a wonderful driver, then the tour guide, let me tell you, I’ve been all over the world, but I believe his name was Naseem, the Knowledge and information, the details of each location, geography, explanations, EXCELLENCE. The time pace at each stop, the kindness caring courteous respectful, there are No words, I would give this my Top 3 tours of my 20 plus years of travel, the food was extraordinary, I have No words, I would do this tour Again and again each time I visit turkey, you will Be blown away, excellence at its finest With again if I remember correctly Nasir or nasim was our tour guide. Don’t think twice, book now.! This experience to me was priceless.
Nizam was our guide and he’s been really fantastic! I recommend this experience without any doubt. The lunch was perfect, Nizam was perfect, the driver also. Thank you! I’ll leave with a nice memory!
We had a great time! The ruins at Ephysus are jaw dropping. Our guide Siddik was great! Strongly recommend the Tour.
My husband and I had a tour of Ephesus with Gil and Omur which is one of the best tours we have done. Gul’s knowledge was clearly excellent but the way she shared it made the experience come alive for us. Omur was kind, patient and friendly which made for a very easy trip. The lunch provided was generous, very tasty and provided in a cool and pretty environment. Overall we would totally recommend both the company and Gul… if we were staying longer we would definitely ask for her as our guide again.
A wonderful day out that was fascinating. It’s more than just history. Ephesus itself is stunning and well worth it on its own to find out the history and significance of the place. The Virgin Mary’s House was tranquil and spiritual, arriving early before the cruise ship tours, as we did, is definitely recommended. Walking through Ephesus with a knowledgable and friendly guide such as Hakan, made the history of the place come alive. The carpet weaving experience was informative and fascinating - and the rugs were beautiful. Lunch and the leather factory were also great value, before the beauty of Sirinçe. A great day out for all the family and value for money.
The tour was very good. The day was long - picked up at 7:30 and dropped off at 5:30 - but the guide was really good so he kept it moving. He was seasoned so both knowledgeable and attentive. The driver had a long day! He was very good. Ephesus is amazing - that was the highlight and reason to go.
This was honestly one of the best days I’ve had in Turkey! Our tour guide, Nizam, was absolutely amazing — so funny, friendly, and full of knowledge. You can tell he truly loves what he does and knows the history inside out. I learned so much, laughed a lot, and just had the best time. It felt less like a tour and more like spending the day with a really cool friend who happens to know everything about the place. Highly recommend!
Tour description is mostly accurate and food is good. But the experience can be better if shopping (tho not mandatory) can be highlighted in the tour description. Also, pre-tour communication can be improved such as reconfirming pickup time and car plate number etc. Right now the operator never contacts even the night before the tour begins, creating a sense of uncertainty for a traveler in a foreign country.
Cool tour. Isik is very knowledgeable, knows how to prioritize information and keeps a good pace. No rushing you through the sites…You can tell she likes what she does and that gives a special vibe to the experience.
