After greeting, we will have 20 mins. Drive to Ephesus area. Ephesus (Rev. 2:1-7), major port city on the Aegean, was the commercial, political, and religious center of all of Asia Minor. After a lunatic completely burned the Temple of Diana (Artemis) on the night, that Alexander the Great was born in 356 B.C. The Ephesians worked for 120 years to complete a magnificent reconstructed temple, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. The city became part of the Roman Empire in the second century B.C. As a Roman capital of Asia Minor, Ephesus boasted a population approaching 250,000 people. The Apostle Paul’s first visit to Ephesus was brief—during his second missionary tour (Acts 18:19-21). His second visit lasted about three years—during his third missionary tour (Acts 19:1 to 20:31). Luke’s account of the worship of Diana appears in Acts 19:34-35. The Great Theatre (stadium) mentioned in Acts 19:29-31 could seat 25,000 people. Walk the marble-paved street with grooves made by chariot wheels. See the Fountain of Trojan, the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre.Visit the Chapel of the Virgin Mary (Double Church), where the Third Ancient Council convened.
The House of Virgin Mary is located on the Aladag Mountains 5 miles away from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council on 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the discovery of the house, the Archbishop of Izmir declared there as a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited this place and prayed there. The day was wonderful with many ancient sites just as we requested. Olgu was an exceptional and extremely knowledgeable guide who explained everything we wanted to know. We highly recommend a day with Olgu!
My wife and I booked this excusrion with Ephesus Shuttle. Communication was excellent. Upon disembarking from our cruise ship there is a large board upon exiting the customs area which had our name on it. We were met by the rep who guided us to our small shuttle bus. Our guide was Melih Ozsoy who was superb. A great combination of knowledge and engagement. He was professional and allowed us time to enjoy the sites. The tour encompassed House of Virgin Mary, Ephesus (starting from upper gate and ending at lower gate), terrace houses, the library and Artemis. Transportation was comfortable and professional. An excellent tour and good value as well.
Incredible experience! Our guide Olgu was amazing. He took time to explain the history and importance of every point on the tour . We enjoyed our visit immensely, highly recommend this tour and Olgu!
Great experience our guide was super knowledgeable and will book again with curio travel for any future trips to turkey
By far our favorite tour on our trip! Berkay was outstanding with his knowledge on Ephesus and welcomed questions. The food was also delicious! Would absolutely do this tour again.

Well organized and tour guide was very knowledgeable. Pleasant and slow paced. Saw everything we wanted and more.
Our guide Al was excellent. He was an archaeologist and worked on the site. We visited for two years. He knew it very well and knew the history backwards and forwards He gave us more information than we could possibly remember and was very friendly. He was also quite funny. Emphasis was fantastic and much larger and more amazing than we even imagined .I would highly recommend visiting there.
This was amazing start to finish! Truly enjoyable. Our guide Tansu was exceptional. Totally recommend her and this tour. We experienced Turkey and some of its wonderful culture for the first time. She also provided time to witness the art of rug making and a ceramic shop. Awesome lunch as well.
Al the guide was awesome. Nice small van
Aleyna was an incredible tour guide! She was so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. We all learned so much! Thank you, Aleyna!

Ghengis was a great guide. Knowledgeable and hospitable
Mustafa Varici was wonderful. Amazing tour! This was the best tour we have done in europe. Book if you can. You will not be disappointed!
Inan is an incredible historian. He studied art and archaeology in college. You’re getting a high quality tour by booking this one. We could’ve gone through HAL, but why? By booking direct we got a personalized experience. We’ve been touring the world for over 20 years and we really enjoyed Inan’s stories, information, and company.
Olgu and our driver were excellent and very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend. Our tour focused on the religious history of PAUL and time in Ephesus.
Emray picked us up, took us everywhere on the list, explained everything in great detail, and was very knowledgeable. He answered our questions, and we really enjoyed the tour very much.
Gonca was an amazing tour guide. After asking our group a few questions she made recommendations for our day. We enjoyed visiting Ephesus, St John’s Basilica, the archeological museum and a traditional Turkish cafe for lunch. Gonca shared everything from a Christian perspective which is what we wanted. She also shared about Turkish life, culture, and history. It was an amazing day and we learned so much. Going to all these places without a guide would have been interesting but Gonca brought it all to life and made our day unforgettable.
This was one of our most fantastic excursions ever! Our tour guide is a professor in archeology from the university and so knowledgeable about all the sites. His passion for work can not be better! Then after visiting all that Ephesus has to offer we were treated to a fantastic lunch!
Olgu was a fantastic guide ! Very knowledgeable and funny. I highly recommend.
Olgu was an exceptional guide. He was informative and thorough. He added a visit to the Blessed Mother for us, and we appreciated his kindness. Thank you for a wonderful day!
I had such a wonderful time today as I toured around with our experienced guide, Olgy. He was so kind and knowledgable as we visited Ephesus and other sites in the area. I would highly recommend Olgy if you are considering touring around this part of the country. Thank you Olgy, for such a so wonderful experience. 🫶
Our one day guide tour to Ephesus and other biblical sites in the area was a bucket list experience. Olgu was our guide and he was amazing! If you want a Christian guide that will make Ephesus and Turkey come alive from a biblical perspective definitely ask for him !
A great trip. Our guide Olgu was exceptionally knowledgeable and very professional

Excellent very knowledgable tour guide that knows his Bible well!! Highly recommended!!
Guide was very knowledgeable and enjoyed the tour.
Olgu is the best. Kind, courteous willing to make changes. Very personable . The driver was anazing as well. Nothing was too much for him and Olgu. Took my physical limitations into account and made allowances for them. The lunch was amazing.
We had a fantastic day and our tour guide Yavuz was brilliant. He was knowledgeable, friendly and made the whole experience really enjoyable for all three of us. He explained everything really well and made sure we had a great time. We were back at our cruise within plenty time Would highly recommend!
Olgu was a great tour guide. My mother and I went on a bible focused tour. My mum has mobility issues and uses a walker. Olgu was great with that, made adaptations without fuss and was attentive. Many cats seen and good food eaten. Thanks!
Gorki was an outstanding guide, who was extremely knowledgeable about the ancient city of Ephesus. He regaled us with many engrossing tales of ancient times and personalities. He was very careful in guiding us, as I am mobility impaired and my husband and I are both serious. Gorki was extremely kind and personable. The ancient city of Ephesus is a must see for any traveler interested in learning about the ancient world. It was fascinating to learn how archaeologists pieced together rubble into the beautiful structures we saw today. I highly recommend this tour without reservation for both young and old travelers.
Our guide Yavuz, was knowledgeable and informative, bringing the biblical history of Ephesus and its sights to life. He also shared interesting insights into Turkish culture, history and everyday life, making the tour both educational and enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Olgu was an excellent guide. He has great knowledge of biblical history and we highly recommend his tour. We also learned about Turkish culture and really enjoyed spending the day with him. When we come back to Türkiye someday, we would love to do his 8 day tour!
Fantastic with informative history of the area.
Taz (guide) and Sergio (driver) were excellent Best tour we had during our cruise and earlier stay in Rome. Appreciated knowledge and ability to convey it in an interesting and understandable manner.
Yavuz was fantastic! Personalized the tour to our interests. Excellent English and so knowledgeable. Great tour with great guide
Our guide, Yavuz, is extremely knowledgeable. Our tour began with the Mother Mary’s House. We then toured the remains of ancient Ephesus, and learned about the Apostle Paul’s time in Ephesus. Fun highlights of our tour also included a visit to see Turkish rugs, family crafted cini pottery & a delicious lunch. We visited the tomb of the John the Apostle & ended our day at the markets. We highly recommend Yavuz.
Trip was great. Had a great time.
Our guide, Meleh, was fantastic! Maybe the best guide I've ever had on a trip. His knowledge of the Bible, the other 1st & 2nd century writings, teachings of the Apostolic Fathers, and archeology was AMAZING! Can't say enough good things about this trip. The lunch was fantastic.
Yavuz was such a delight! So informative, considerate of our time and interests. He gave us the best customized tour imaginable of Ephesus and surrounds. We had a seamless pickup, traveled in absolute luxury, had a fantastic local lunch and lots of laughs. I give Yavuz and Ephesus Shuttle my highest recommendation. This is the only way to see Ephesus!
Yavuz was an EXCEPTIONAL guide! His English was perfect and he was very knowledgeable. Our pick up was easy and seamless. Yavuz knew how to skirt the crowds and knew all the perfect photo spots. Highly recommend!!
Kai & Sebastian were excellent guide and driver. Pick up was easy even among the chaos of coming off a cruise ship. They knew how to get ahead of the crowds but we never felt rushed. Kai was knowledgeable and informative on all 3 of our stops (we elected not to see the temple of Artemis.). The lunch was great and traditional. Afterwards we toured the carpet factory sponsored by the government. This was also informative and Kai told us we were not obliged to purchase anything. We had an early All Aboard and the men got us back in time for last minute shopping. Overall I highly recommend this tour.
Conca was amazing! Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, detailed. We had an incredible day of learning. Our driver was safe and wonderful. It was an awesome day.
Conca was amazing and informative. We enjoyed her hunour and candor. Thanks for sharing your life and time with us. Maggie and Jim Eastman with Jayne and Cecil Cogswell
We ended up with a private tour. We went at our own pace all day. Our guide was very knowledgeable. We learned much We didn't already know, and my husband is a pastor who has studied the Bible in depth. We were treated with personal attention, had a great Turkish lunch, met the vendors at the rug and ceramics markets, really felt a connection to the area. I highly recommend this tour. It's so much more close to the locals than a big bus tour with 20 to 30 people.
Yavuz has excellent English and a deep understanding of the history, culture, politics, and religions of Ephesus. He is personable and the tour was one of the highlights of our trip.
