Good location, decent services and common areas, but the rooms need a GREAT deal of renovation. Honestly, considering this is supposed to be a 5* hotel, the rooms are appalling and take away a lot from your experience. The room furniture is old and outdated. The cabinet doors barely work. Bathrooms seem to be remainders of a different decade (and not the previous one). At the very least, the bed mattresses and pillows could have been better (they should be easy enough to replace), but alas, no. Frankly, this hotel is a bit of a wasted potential; with a major overhaul of the rooms and corridors, it could well be a high-tier resort, but in its current condition, I would not recommend staying here unless you are all out of options in Cesme, Ilica or Alacati.

Very nice location with a view of a medium size Marina and a beautiful view of sea. A bit old but still a great place to stay.
Perfect location. The rooms, restaurant, and the general structure in the hotel have been renovated recently. This made a leap forward and it has greatly improved the entire complex. As such I now evaluate this beautiful resort with 4 stars. The SPA is also very much improved and operate nicely. True family holiday resort.
We’ve been staying at Altın Yunus for a week with a few more days to go. While the location is stunning and some staff are truly kind, several serious issues have made our stay disappointing—and we’ve decided not to extend it. Let’s start with the positives: The view from our room is absolutely beautiful. While the rooms are definitely dated, they’re not in terrible shape—acceptable considering the age of the hotel. The breakfast staff and kids club team are genuinely warm, friendly, and welcoming. Their kindness stood out and made a positive impact on our stay. However, these positives were outweighed by ongoing problems: Housekeeping is poor and inconsistent. Our room is never fully cleaned (we found trash swept under the bed), and basic amenities like water, towels, and toiletries are almost never restocked unless we specifically ask—multiple times. Today was particularly frustrating. We asked the housekeeper at 10 AM to clean the room while we were at breakfast. She said she’d come after finishing a few rooms. We returned at 3 PM—nothing was done. When I followed up, she said she still couldn’t come. I explained that I had a baby who needed to nap, and at least requested clean towels. No one brought anything. The Wi-Fi is nearly useless in the rooms. It barely connects and doesn’t support even basic use. For a resort of this size and cost, that’s unacceptable. Air conditioning is weak throughout the hotel. The system in the rooms is central—you can’t control it, and it’s not strong enough to keep the room cool during summer. Hallways have no AC at all, and worst of all, they shut off the AC in the breakfast area after 10:30 AM, seemingly to push guests out. That’s extremely inconsiderate, especially when temperatures are above 40°C and many guests are elderly, pregnant, or traveling with children. One day I forgot to bring milk for my baby and asked the restaurant for a cup. They charged 120 TL. That level of pricing for something so basic is simply unfair. Finally, I want to mention a major concern: the F&B manager at the beach/pool restaurant is extremely rude. Not only was he dismissive toward us, but I witnessed him speaking very harshly to his staff multiple times in front of guests. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. That kind of treatment toward employees is unacceptable anywhere—especially at a family resort. Altın Yunus has potential: a great location, beautiful views, and some truly kind team members. But without real improvements to housekeeping, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and staff management, I cannot recommend it.
Let me start off by saying, this is not a 5-star hotel in my opinion. The hotel has a great outdoor seating in the restaurant area that overlooks the marina and boats, but everything else looks abandoned. It definitely does not look like the pictures we say when we booked it. The customer service is not the best (only one person speaks English). Just because we do not speak Turkish, they think we will not know that they are talking about us. The room and bathroom look like hostels. Barely had any warm or hot water and the water wouldn't drain when you are showering. We went in April, which I guess is right before peak time, but the hotel and the surrounding areas are all abandoned that we left within less than 24 hours because we were so uncomfortable. Never experienced anything like this before. I do not recommend this hotel at all.
