Our trip to Shai Hills with Tobias, our guide and driver from Best of Africa Travels, was honestly one of the highlights of our time in Ghana! The overall experience was awesome. A lot of Hiking .Make sure you have on comfortable shoes and very informational. Learning about the caves and how people live there to learn how to take care of themselves and their families were amazing.

Loved seeing the animals at the reserve. We saw free range baboons, held a snake, saw green monkeys, elk, ostriches, and zebras. The reserve also has interesting exhibits of artifacts, skins, and skulls. We also climbed a hill with ropes to see an amazing view of the reserve. Tobias was our driver and was very nice understanding it was my first time to Africa. Rachel was our reserve guide and was also good. Highly recommend.

I visited Shai Hills National Park with my school and I really liked it.The park is very beautiful with lots of nature and impressive landscapes.We were able to see animals like baboons and antelopes, which was really cool.The visit was interesting and we learned a lot about Ghana.I especially liked the caves and the stories we were told.It was both fun and educational.The place is calm and it’s very different from the city.I recommend this park to anyone who likes nature.It’s also a great idea for school trips.Honestly, it was a great experience!

Visited Shai Hills with BOA travels. Our guide was Zaid. He was calm, friendly and attentive. He was also a skilled driver. The 1/2 day was well-structured. The main animal attraction was the antelopes. There were also some imported Zebras and Ostriches within an enclosure. The short hike to the top of the hills was not taxing and yielded a beautiful view across the reserve. Zaid and our local guide, a delightful young lady whose name I have forgotten were also great company. This was a short trip that took us to a peaceful Oasis just North East of Accra that I would highly recommend.

Visiting the Shai Hills Forest Reserve in Ghana was a truly beautiful nature experience. Just an hour’s drive from Accra, the reserve felt like stepping into another world. The landscape was a striking mix of savannah grassland, rocky hills, and patches of forest, each offering its own charm. As I walked along the trails, the air was fresh and filled with birdsong, creating a peaceful rhythm that made me slow down and simply take it all in. seeing the baboons, antelopes, zebras, ostriches in their natural habitants was refreshing and beautiful, I got to learn the history and culture about the Shai people who migrated from Nigeria to the present-day Ghana. So first of all, Zaid & Hamza did a really great job and also the tour guide at shai hills went all over the place to get us the best experience. We felt very welcome and safe all the time. Thank you a lot! It was very private since we went on a weekday. Sadly, we didn’t see as many animals as expected, so there were a few baboons near the street and some Antilopes, Zebras & Oestrichs but in cavage. I also would have wanted to walk a bit more because the experience went really fast in the car. After all, it was a lovely trip and they did everything nice, but regarding the little view of animals and also like the environment we saw, it was a bit pricey but I thinks it’s because of the long drive from Accra (I think it was a 5hour trip and we spent like 2,5 hours in the car, driving to and from Shai Hills).

My partner and I recently visited Shai Hills Forest Reserve, this is my first time in Ghana as half Ghanaian born and raised in Germany, the trip was such a refreshing experience. From me the moment we arrived we were surrounded by natures beauty. We enjoyed a guided hike through the trails spotting all those baboons antelopes, zebra, ostriches and other animal skins at the museum. The climb up the hills gave us a beautiful view of the landscape. It’s was the perfect mixture of relaxation, exploration and getting in tune with nature, spending time together in such a serene environment made the tour even more enjoyable. Exploring shai hills was a blast, hiked the rocky trails of Mogo hills, spotted baboons,zebras, ostriches and antelopes, climbed the ancient caves once home to the shai people. The scenery on top of Mogo hills were breathtaking. A perfect mix of nature, history and adventure just an hour from Accra. Book best of Africa travels, Enoch and his team will take care of you.

It was great to get out of the urban jungle of Accra and out into the grassy hills. Zaid and Hazma were both super friendly and I was made to feel welcome from the start. Shai Hills were lovely; peaceful as you would expect. We climbed a small but culturally important hill to look out over savannah views, always keeping a glimpse out for the elusive reedbuck, before moving on to see the ostrich and zebra (behind fences) and the baboons and monkeys. The museum was very interesting. I’d recommend this tour if you want to do something slightly different that includes a tiny bit of exertion (the hill), is ecologically sound and also includes a bit of history. I’d recommend this tour company as everything was clearly communicated, pick up was super prompt and the guide and driver managed to be both professional and friendly. We had a great visit to Shai Hills with Enoch and our driver. They picked us up on time from our hotel and gave us lots of local facts on our journey. It was great to see all the baboons wandering about freely from the moment you get close to the reserve. Our guide Foli was really helpful and knowledgeable on the nature and history of Shai Hills. If like me you are looking at the a pictures beforehand and worrying about the rope climb. It really isn't that physically challenging so don't let that put you off! The guides and Enoch will get you through it and the view is 100% worth it. Taking our photo with the flag was a lovely extra touch.

We had a great time at Shai Hills Resource Reserve. Seeing all those animals like the baboons, ostrich, Zebra, antelopes. I would say the view on top of Mogohills was breathtaking. I highly recommend Enoch from best of Africa travels a and his team for making everything possible.

The tourguide Zaid (I believe his name was) was very helpful and communicated well. We learned about different animals on the tour and saw some (babboons, antelopes) in the wild and some, unfortunately, in captivity (zebras, austrich, snake). I enjoyed the little hike up the hill, it's relatively easy, not very high but good views. Zaid was able to tell some history whilst walking. All in all a very pleasant half day out. Can recommend!

Shai hills has such beautiful scenery. This a perfect tour for a quick half day experience. Guide and park guide were fantastic as they made sure to take lots of good photos while on my solo trip. The mini hike was light and fun and got the see the animals for a bit. Not much time spent exploring the park and walking because you're in a vehicle, but i didn't mind.

Our day at the Shai Hills forest reserve was fun and memorable one. Our Tour guide Enoch and Xade was very relatable and knowledgeable in answering all the questions we asked during our tour. We hiked to mogo hill, the scenery and view on top of mogo hill was breathtaking. Learnt about about some trees and plant and it's medicinal purpose such as the Nimtree,baobab tree etc . We were able to see the baboons,green monkeys,antelopes,butterflies, and birds which are natives to the reserve. We also saw the zebras, ostriches, and the royal python. We learnt a Lil bit history about the Shai people and their culture. I must admit this tour with boansi travels was fun and educative all togeter. I highly recommend Enoch and his team.

My recent visit with Boansi Travels Ghana to Shai Hills was a fun and informative experience. I greatly appreciated the organisation by Zaid and his driver in regards to transport and admission into Shai Hills, and they made for great company during my visit. Climbing the Mogo hills was a fun challenge and I really liked the view at the top. Upon entering Shai Hills, we were able to see the baboons walking around as well as the zebras and ostriches in the caged areas. During our visit, we were also able to see some antelope which was really nice. The tour guide at Shai Hills was brilliant and helped to share some history about this amazing area. I was surprised by some of the facts they shared with me and it definitely gave me a better appreciation for the area. I really enjoyed the tour and was pleased to see some of the animals in the reserve including baboons, the vervet monkey and antelope. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and we learnt lots about Ghana en route to the reserve in the air conditioned car. The guide from the reserve was also brilliant and very knowledgeable, answering any questions we had. There is a climb up some rope on Mogo Hill but it is very simple. The views are very impressive! We would have like to maybe have done a bit more/seen a bit more on the tour for the price, and also had a bit of time to take in the view from Mogo hill as it was a bit swift, however, this is a brilliant tour to get out of Accra and see some of the country without travelling too far.

They are the best guides I have worked with in a very long time. The tour itself was well-paced with a balance of hiking, climbing and interpretation. We were able to see monkeys, baboons, and antelope, in addition to the zebra and ostrich. This is not a tour to miss!
