Vince and Eric were the best. I went solo and felt extremely safe. It was so informative to learn about the history of Ghana. I would book with them again for any experience.
This experience was incredible. Vince took us personally through the areas of Accra that we tried to do by ourselves and couldn’t do it. It was educational/informative and I know I would suggest moodofhope tours to anyone who asks. Thanks again Vince for the incredible tour and the education we were given. Medasse.
Vince was absolutely wonderful ! he carries a wealth of knowledge. this tour is exactly what i needed to better understand my roots. he’s relationship with the community in evident and throughout the experience his number one priority is to make sure you are comfortable, so you can enjoy the tour. he continuously checks in to ensure you do not have any questions, so you are not listening to him or others speak the entire time. i enjoyed the mini pop quizzes he would give me to ensure i was paying attention lol! the food place we went to was absolutely delicious. that jollof was 10/10! i would definitely book other experiences with him. thank you so much, Vince!
Vince was very knowledgeable about Ghana's history, courteous, and very accommodating with my unique schedule
Vince gave us a passionate and understandable insight into the contemporary Ghanaian scene way beyond what you'd normally expect from a guide showing a city's major attractions. He was responsive and flexible during the booking process and throughout the day providing a bespoke experience for a party ranging in age from 17 to mid sixties, some of whom were born in Ghana and others who had never visited before - there was something in it for everyone. A shout out for Roots restaurant which was a stop on the tour and the best food I experienced on our trip. And for our driver who dealt well with the difficult roads. Time flew by and we greatly enjoyed Vince's company - I would not hesitate to book a tour with Vince again.
Vince was the perfect tour guide for our introduction to Accra! Very flexible with our schedule and personalizing the tour for our interests. Highly recommend!!
I spent a full day touring Accra with Vince, and I can honestly say it was one of the highlights of my trip. Vince is an outstanding guide. He’s thoughtful, charismatic, and extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of Ghana. What stood out most was how genuine and kind he is. Vince clearly cares about his guests’ experience and each opportunity to connect and form a new friendship. His dedication to sharing his love for Ghana is truly inspiring! If you’re visiting Accra and want a guide who is professional, warm, and intelligent, I cannot recommend Vince highly enough. He absolutely deserves your business!
My two teenage daughters [12 and 13 year olds] and I had a great experience with Vince. He is very knowledgeable and took us to great sites with knowledgeable staff. We came out of the tour enriched with history and better understanding of the past, present and potential future of Ghana. Feel free to reach out for any questions. Thank you Vince!
This tour is a must! We did this tour as soon as we got to Ghana and it was a great way to see some of the most important sites in Accra. Vince was an amazing tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Ghana and the unfortunate history of slavery. He was fun and welcoming and really made this an enjoyable experience for us. You have to do this tour when you come to Accra.
We chose this tour because of the great reviews and the flexibility (we needed an afternoon start). We absolutely made the right choice as Vince was a fantastic guide. He used the time between sights to give us an excellent overview of Ghanaian history and culture. At the stops, which were all interesting, we generally had a guide from that sight, so we were privileged to have lots of different perspectives. Transport was comfortable and Vince had some cold water ready for us when we needed it. Do choose Vince and Mood of Hope Tours for a great experience.
If you’re looking to experience Accra in a day, look no further! From pickup to drop off, Vince will be an informative and inspiring guide with incredible insights on life in Ghana and how that manifests in the capital city of Accra. The transport around the city was comfortable and air conditioned - a nice relief from the warm weather outside. Each stop was carefully selected to tell a story about the Ghana of today. There were guides at the individual museums to give a broad overview of the sites, but Vince’s additions made everything come to life in the current context. The market stop was also assisted by one of the merchant chiefs who escorted us through the many stalls and prevented some of the typical overwhelming tourist experiences. And of course, the shopping was fantastic. Lunch was traditional Ghanaian food (delicious) accompanied by excellent conversation. Vince was eager to share more about his experience as a Ghanaian, and I felt truly welcomed to the country. I would highly recommend him for any trips around Ghana, and I can’t wait to go back for my next visit some day soon!
AMAZING. This tour is a must WHEN you come to Ghana 😉 The host Vince went above and beyond. He was knowledgeable, accommodating, kind, well organized and very professional! We loved all of the sights he took us too and the history we learned and got to see. We were also grateful for the private vehicle and the included lunch at Roots restaurant was so delicious!!
We enjoyed seeing the major sites of Accra on our tour! Vince was passionate about Ghana and provided us smiles and laughs along our journey. We learned so much and we're able to tailor what we did to our needs and wants. Highly recommend!
I thoroughly enjoyed my 1 day tour with Vince to get a feel of Ghanian history and culture. I was so delighted to learn a lot about such intriguing history. Vince was very kind , warm and patient to answer all my questions. He is quite knowledgeable about all things Ghana and I must say he takes the best pictures! I will recommend Mood of Hope tours a 1000 times over! Thank you so much Vince for helping me to create amazing memories of Ghana.
We spent a week on a mission trip in Sierra Leone and had a long layover in Accra, Ghana on our way home. Instead of spending 12 hours in the airport we decided we would fill our time with something around town. Gotta be honest, finding Vince was much more than we bargained for. Our day in Accra did a lot more than fill our time: we had a rich and thorough history lesson on Ghana, a delicious lunch, a spiritually and emotionally heavy visit to a castle related to the slave trade, and one continuous delightful conversation throughout the day about Vince’s life. It was truly a terrific experience. Our goal is to stop again on another one of our trips to Sierra Leone and spend some more time with Mood of Hope tours going to see more of Ghana. Next time we’re going for waterfalls and monkeys. We highly recommend Vince and Mood of Hope tours. Also: don’t forgot to ask him about the source of his company name for a little added dash of inspiration.
Vince was the highlight of our trip to Ghana! From the minute I first contacted him, he was responsive, flexible and thorough. He customized tours to meet our schedule and to make sure we had the best experience. He made sure we were comfortable and added in so many extra touches (I mentioned I wanted to try something one day and a few hours later, Vince made it happen). Vince explained life in Ghana as we drove - he’s worked so hard to know both the history and current conditions and we learned so much in two days with Vince. If you’re thinking about booking a tour with Vince, don’t hesitate - you’ll be so glad you did.
Vince did a wonderful job giving my colleagues and I a tour of the city - he was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional! He even had ice cold water bottles ready for us in the air conditioned car to help combat the heat between stops.
The tour was great and informative. The tour operator was very patience, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Definitely an excellent tour and will recommend to anyone.
My trip was a once in a lifetime experience! Vince was an amazing guide who became family! I will remember this trip forever, and I will say first hand it would’ve been good regardless but with Vince I got the true Ghanaian experience.
We went on the Accra City Tour with our tour guide Vince, who gave us a friendly introduction to himself, his role, and a brief overview of what to expect from the tour. We were well prepared for a long and exciting day. Our first stop was to the National Museum of Ghana, where we learnt about Ghana’s rich heritage. The National Museum showcases an extensive collection of artefacts. We drove through the very busy and long Makola Market, looking at the hustle and bustle of everyday people buying and selling everything from clothing and jewelery to traditional crafts and fresh produce. Our next stop was to the Kwame Nkrumah Museum. I love this man, so it was an honour learning more about Ghana's first president. The museum is set in a beautiful park with statues and artefacts that make it a great place to take memorable photographs. We also took great pictures from the top of Independence Square (Black Star Square) monument site. Big shout out to the photographer. Our next visit was to the Art Market. There's so much to see and buy. Make sure you have your bartering skills polished. We stopped off for lunch, where we enjoyed some tasty local quisine before our final stop, the W.E.B. Du Bois Center. A small and intimate visit to the home of the great man. All in all, it was a beautiful day exploring Accra, which was made all the more enjoyable with our tour guide. Thank you so much, Vince.
Vince is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide. He was able to adapt the tour to the client's wishes and with very little notice. He is friendly, kind and keen to please. I only did the one day city tour but would have been very happy to undertake a longer tour with him. Vince is a local making the best for himself. I would wholeheartedly recommend him, you will have a good day/tour with him.
Vince was amazing! From the beginning everything was perfect. He picked us up at the restaurant we had breakfast at in an air conditioned car and had waters available for us when we needed them. He showed us around Acura and he’s was extremely knowledgeable on the history of not just Acura but Ghana in general. He was extremely accommodating as well, we had already been to places that his tour offered he easily adjusted for us so that we didn’t have to visit the same place again. Most importantly he made us all feel very safe with him around the city. He also helped us navigated buying the different Art and helped to ensure that we didn’t over pay. I HIGHLY recommend him for all of your tour needs in Ghana!
This is run by moodtohope tours which is a small business run by Vince, our guide. He is SOOOO great I cannot recommend him enough. He was honestly the best guide we had yet. He is very knowledgeable. We booked this last minute (same day booking) and he accommodated everything we needed and he picked us up from the restaurant where we had breakfast. The Van he arranged had AC and was very comfortable throughout the tour. He tailored the tour for everything we wanted to see and more. (We had already done some things solo which I do not recommend lol tour guide for everything in Accra is best!). We went to the arts center, WEB Du Bois Museum, Independence Square, the National Museum of Ghana, and he explained the history all the way. Please please please book this tour. Support local, small business like this tour operator and I promise you will not be disappointed. He has so much passion for his work and it shows in the quality of tour you will get.
Vincent was great. We were a family of 5 adults of varying ages and abilities. He was flexible, knowledgeable and always concerned that we were having a wonderful experience.
Vince was fantastic! He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. I recommend that anyone who is visiting Accra to schedule Vince as their tour guide. He will make you feel welcome and treated us like family.
