Great experience. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and easy going. Gave us great information and took the tour at our pace. Would highly recommend! Clinton was the best!
We had the best experience exploring Accra with Kwame Tours! Everything from booking to communications was smooth and easy. The tour was well planned and filled with meaningful stops like the Osu Castle, Independence Square and the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum where we really felt the history and pride of Ghana. Our tour guide, Clinton, and the driver were amazing! So friendly and knowledgeable and fun to be around. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and learned a lot. This tour made our visit to Accra truly unforgettable. Highly recommend Kwame Tours if you want to experience the real heart of the city.
I took two tours with Kwame. First I did the Accra City tour with Clinton. He was such a warm, knowledgeable guide who went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent time and got to experience everything we wanted to see. When we shared that we wanted to see the beach. He even made sure we stopped at a beach stop on the water for lunch. He was exceptional. Later that week, I took the botanical gardens, coco farm and ATV tour with Daniel. Who was equally as outstanding. Riding the ATVs was so much fun and I felt so safe, even though this was my first time doing this. After interacting with both guides, I can only conclude that Kwame tours is the best and makes sure everyone they hire the passion for the work is evident. Daniel, even compiled sent a custom video of us riding on the ATVs so we would have it later for the memories of our trip. If I had more days in Ghana, I would I booked more tours with them. I just ran out of time and had to return home.
We had an incredible tour with Clinton! He took us to the National Museum, the Kwame Nkrumah Museum, the art shops, Independence Square, and Labadi Beach. He was knowledgeable and excellent! A must book!!
We had a mostly wonderful experience on the Accra Detailed City Tour. Clinton, our tour guide, was truly exceptional—warm, welcoming, and attentive to my family. He made us feel at ease throughout the day and skillfully navigated interactions with vendors, always advocating for fair and respectful exchanges. We especially enjoyed our dinner at Labadi Restaurant, where we had meaningful conversations about everyday life in Accra and the U.S.—a highlight that added depth to the experience. That said, we were dismayed by the lack of upfront communication regarding itinerary changes. We toured on a Sunday and were simply told the city would be "calm." However, key sites like the W.E.B. DuBois Museum, and Makola Market were closed—something that was never mentioned in advance. These were locations we were especially looking forward to, so it was a real letdown to find them excluded. Had we been notified in advance, we would have simply selected the next day. We’d still recommend this tour—particularly because of Clinton’s outstanding guidance—but with one caveat: If any part of the itinerary is subject to change based on the day of the week, that should be clearly communicated beforehand so travelers can plan accordingly or adjust expectations.
The tour was very educational. The only downside is the fact that the driver was late and the vehicle used with 3 adults in the back was very small and cramped. We were not able to get to the last place because we started late. Time is of the essence and a more comfortable vehicle would be nice. Other than that, Clinton our tour guide was great. He is very knowledgeable.
Amazing views, took a lot of pictures, gained a lot of knowledge and above all amazing tour guide. The places I went too had a lot to learn and gained from.
Amazing first tour experience with Clinton. Amazing guide. He was highly patient and devoted to answering all types of questions we had.
Clinton was an exceptional tour guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Went above and beyond to see that I got a real feel for Accra. I would recommend highly.
Our tour with Clinton and Daniel was totally great. Clinton was the main guide, but Daniel was a good partner in showing us the city too. We appreciated all of our stops today, but maybe my favorite was going to Jamestown and seeing the fishing boats and saying hello to the friendly people there. Clinton and Daniel are proud of their heritage and it shows, patiently answering all of our questions joyfully. Two thumbs up.
Although I went solo, my tour guide Clinton and the driver make me feel that I was with friends right away. The time spent was definitely an investment as I discovered the people, the culture, the meanings of rituals, clothing, food, etc. Regards
My experience was 5/5 Clinton was a patience and wonderful guide took his time explaining in great details each and every site. The excursion was curtailed to what I want to visit. I the most remarkable is the open market going to the 5th floor and viewing the entire open market and all the coming and going was a site to see.
We had a fantastic time on this tour! Taking the tour on our second day in Accra was an excellent way to orient ourselves to the city. Our guide, Clinton, was absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, entertaining, and attentive. As a group of four women traveling in Accra, we felt safe and well cared for throughout the trip. The only minor downside was that, since it was a Sunday, Makola Market was closed. However, we did get to drive through it, which was a good alternative given how overwhelming it can be on a busy market day. Additionally, we couldn’t visit the Dubois Centre as it was closed, but Clinton went above and beyond to find great alternatives for us. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Accra, especially in the first few days of their trip!
Absolutely amazing experience! Clinton and Daniel were the perfect duo! Clinton was very knowledgeable, attentive, kind and personable! Really captured the essence of Ghana. Daniel drove us safely and with ease!
Nice introduction to Accra. Good experience to see the city. If it is your first time in Accra, this is an all in one stop to hit some of the hot spots.
Clinton was an exceptional and knowledgeable host and guide. A credit to the team. Would happily do the tour again
Clinton was an exceptional tour guide who went the extra mile and made my experience one to remember. Clinton provided expert national and local knowledge with a personal touch. Would happily do the tour again.
We had an amazing time with Clinton. He went over and above to make sure that we had a great time. Our trip was on a Sunday, and one of our stops was closed, but Clinton was quick to improvise with an amazing alternative. Would recommend this tour to anyone looking to get to know about Ghana with a local.
Great day out, very informative and friendly. Clinton and driver were very engaging and helped with our bartering at the market. It was a full day with lots to see and the additional lectures with the museum guides. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and ended it with dinner on the beach
Kwame was very responsive and quickly put together a customised tour for me in less than a day’s notice. My guide Clinton was very accommodating to the changes I wanted to make on the day. He was also very considerate and sensitive to my needs and interests. He even went the extra mile to help deliver the shirts I tailored at the local market. I had a great day. Thank you guys!
Is been great city tour in Accra. Touring Accra with kwametours.com is very interesting. Let's go tours is reliable and excellent experience to travel with. We really wish to come back
This would have been a good tour but was simply ruined by having to use Ubers which we weren't expecting. When we kicked up a fuss about this at the very start, it was pointed out to us that in the small print it specifies that Ubers could be used when the group was small (a couple in our case). It was an awful start, plus the guide was late...because he had to use an Uber to get to the hotel! At the very end of the day we had to get an Uber from Labadi Beach back to the hotel which we actually had to pay for (plus extra for air conditioning!). No kidding! What made this excursion worse was the the fact that the day before we hired a car and a driver for the day to take us to various places for less than the price of this tour. He was excellent. It would have been a much better experience to have used him to take us round to the various places of interest as he had even suggested. We declined at the time, because we had pre-booked the detailed city tour. As we had no context or historical perspective about the places of interest from our guide (who was nice enough person), we might as well have just done it ourselves. The best part of the tour was going to the Nkrumah Memorial and the museum. Esther the museum tour guide was absolutely brilliant with fantastic knowledge and story-telling ability. She deeply immersed us into Ghanaian history and culture, and kept us interested from beginning to end. The worst bit was the arts gallery. Could not see the point of it! Sorry, this was just not worth it! It could work very well, but not with Uber. Easier to do it yourself!
Had a great time seeing the sites and hearing the history of Accra! My guide was very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend this tour.
I would be coming back to Ghana and book again with Kwame Tours Ghana!! Booking with Kwame Tours Ghana was the best!! We booked the Accra Delailed City Tour with them. They replied back to us quickly and 2 hours later we were on our way. Our tour guide Alex was the best!!! Alex was on time and welcoming. He very informative and helpful. Us being two females traveling alone Alex made sure we were safe and not taken advantage of. If there was anything we needed or was looking to get he was there to make it happen. He made my birthday trip one that I will always remember and I'll be back for sure!!! Thank you!!
Clinton arrived to pick us up from our hotel on time and with a smile. He was very attentive and informative, and we were so glad we had him, especially to navigate us around Makala Market! All in all Clinton was brilliant and I highly recommend this tour
Clinton was an amazing tour guide! In just a few short hours he was able to get us to the W.E.B. Dubois home, the Ghana National Museum (a GREAT experience), the Makola Market, Jamestown and the fishing boats, and the Arts Center. We never had to wait more than 2 minutes for an Uber/taxi and everything went smoothly. I feel like we were able to get a really good feel for Accra and important Ghanaian history and culture. I would fully encourage you to take a tour with Kwame Tours!
It was a lot of fun to visit Accra with our guide, Clinton. We especially liked the National Museum with the french museum guide Joyce. He was also very helpful on the side.
Clinton was a wonderful guide for me, concerned with my well being and my enjoyment every step of the way. He tried to customize the experience for the things I wanted to see and succeeded in making it memorable
I appreciate the most my tour guide Clinton. He was extremely kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. Unfortunately the power was out at the W.E.B. Dubois museum so the conditions were less than desirable. The tour guide at the museum was very knowledgeable. I must say I learned a lot from him. My take away from that visit is the world is much smaller than it appears. I never imagined I would learn so much about an American from a Ghanaian. The Makola market was fascinating and somewhat overwhelming. I wish the weather was more conducive to a being in a crowded place. It was 90 degrees with an heat index of 100. Overall, I enjoyed today's excursions!
We had a jam-packed but very enjoyable day seeing all the highlights of Accra. Clinton was a very knowledgeable and accommodating host. Vague details on timing allows for flexibility if there’s something you want to skip or spend additional time browsing the markets. Worry-free experience with transport and admissions handled, with lots of great photos. Really enjoyed closing out the day relaxing and people-watching at the beach.
Clinton was such a great guide! He made our first visit to Accra worry- and stress-free, taking care of transportation, bags, and capturing great shots of us together at various landmarks. The tour itself was a great variety of education, adventure, and relaxing with a finish at the beach. Highly recommend!
Although we were not able to visit all the places on our tour ( it was Sunday and places were closed) The national museum of Ghana was remarkable, the staff was so knowledgeable and kind. Our guide Clinton was wonderful. We so enjoyed our day. I would so recommend this adventure. Thank you for the memories.
Seeing the monuments and energy of the city is wonderful. The people are nice and friendly Peaceful feeling
I booked a tour with a tour guide and received a stated pickup time, but who never showed up, even after a 3 1/2 hrs wait. Texted me twice, once to saying there would be a delay due to traffic conditions, second time to ask me if I would mind taking the tour by motorbike. This after he informed me that I would be one of nine people on the tour, and a van would arrive at my hotel for pickup. This no-show resulted in a charge of USD28.00 that he placed against my credit card. I advise that this individual/company should never be engaged by anyone (individual or group) for a tour anywhere in Ghana.
The tour itself gave enough information about the highlights in town. The guide was friendly and certainly tried his best, but he was no professional guide and obviously overwhelmed with his tasks. Actually, he only organized changing cars from private providers from stop to stop. We didn't get ONE car for the tour, and all cars were tiny. We had to sit jammed with three people on the backseats all the time, and the cars got worse each time. The guide himself only took us to the places and handed us over to other tourgides which themselves charged big extra fees. We didn't want to see too many museums, and the guide wasn't able to provide alternatives. While we wanted to spend time at the huge arts market and the Makola market, he said Makola wasn't available, and took us to a small arts shop of (obviously) a friend of him. Only when we clearly protested, were were taken to the real arts market.
Kuwame’s service was really exceptional. He knows how to drive and make us got along with all local people. Kuwame was also good on taking picture and videos. Plus point from him, he was helping us to negotiate with local souvenir shops
We really enjoyed the tour and our guide Clinton was extremely helpful and friendly and made the day a lot of fun. W learned a lot about Ghanaian history, tried some local food and got a great overview of the city within one day. The only downside was that we had to take Cabs and didn’t have a car for the day which meant we could not leave our bags and had to wait a few times. Thank you also Clinton, for taking fantastic pictures of us throughout the day. We would definitely recommend the tour!
It was a awesome trip Quami and his guy was did a great job I would take another trip like this soon we went to the Cape cost and to the ashantie village
I had a great tour with Clinton. I felt comfortable and I was lucky to get to go on this tour alone so I was able to personalize it and Clinton helped me find a shop for my African fabric. He was a good source to learn about Ghanaian culture too. The highlight for me was labadi beach.
An excellent full day tour. He took us to all the main sites in Accra! I'm so glad I did it. Wish i had bought my charger to get more photos. Our guide Clinton was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He communicated from the night before to say when he would collect me from my hotel. He arrived early at my hotel for pick up, the van was clean and airconditioned. He made sure we had cold water all day and took care of us. I'd highly recommend this tour. All entrance fees were included. We ended on Labadi beach where we got ourselves a meal. A lovely day. Thank you. Id use this operator again. The WEB Dubois Museum was good, as well as the independence square. Makola Market is not for the faint hearted- glad i had a guide. lol.
Totally NOT what we expected. I guess we should have read the reviews...the transportation is random and changes at every stop (Uber, taxi, bolt, etcc.). A clean, comfortable ride is 40-60%. Honestly, I feel ripped off. The tour-guude was OK but he was basically a ride-along guy for hire. BTW....There are no snacks, we had a coconut.
As first timers in Ghana, we booked our tour hoping for a general feel of Accra and the opportunity to learn more about Ghana and the people. Our tour guide Clinton met us at our apartment and we began our tour with a short stroll to the first site - the W.E.B Du Bois Centre. Our tour started at 9am, and we covered all the sites listed including sundowners at Labadi Beach, where our tour ended. Overall, we enjoyed our tour with Clinton and the guides he organized at the various museums and sites. Make sure to have enough cash for tips - although not mandatory, it became clear quite early on, that it's an expectation to tip the guides at the museums, sites etc. Also, make sure to bring water, light snacks and sweat towel - there's plenty of walking. Because we were on a private tour, we travelled around on Uber, Bolt, Yango and other local taxis - which we found to add to the experience of navigating the city (almost) like a local. With that said, as much as our guide Clinton tried to manage the timing between the rides, it's near impossible to accurately plan their arrival, especially with Accra traffic.
Clinton was fabulous. The tour was great. We had a wonderful time. It was customized to our needs and we were able to learn so much about the culture.
Knowledgeable, and gave us a great experience… even met new friends… I would take more tours with Kwame… Highly Recommended…
The tour guide was great and accommodating! We learned a lot and it was a full day of activities. Highly recommend!
Alex was fantastic. I saw a lot, learnt a lot and had a lot of fun during my city tour of Accra. It’s a great city to visit and I certainly recommend this tour.Brendan
Accra Tour: Clinton was extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and easy going. I learnt a lot about Ghana history and culture from Clinton and the guides at the museums. The only improvement would be to have the same driver for all the stops instead of having to wait for a new Uber to get to each location. I would love to have Clinton as a guide for future tours.
I have a great experience. Clinton is very friendly, helpful and courteous. This tour made mine Ghana vacation one of my best vacation. I learnt a lot about Ghana. Thank you so much.
Our tour guide Alex, showed us around the Accra area. The overall tour was very informative, we learned about various Ghanaian figures and what makes Ghana the country that it is now. I enjoyed the W.E.B. DuBois Center as well as the Museum of Ghana. We had the the opportunity to interact with locals at Makola market, where we had the opportunity to purchase various items from locals. We visited Jamestown as well and ended our tour at Labadi beach where we relaxed. There was so much to see in Accra for just one day. Alex was very knowledgeable of the area.
