Jose Mario is such a wonderful guide. We loved being introduced to the culture of Acapulco! The farmer's market, the food, the Fort of San Diego, the silver store!

Jose made us feel right at home! He was very knowledgeable and did a great job translating for us!. By the end of the tour we were like family. Best tour guide ever!
Enjoyed it, guide was very knowledgeable. Lunch was good, cliff divers were impressive to watch.............................
Was just ok Could skip next time They make it hard to exit review They shouldn’t ask me to write more because it won’t be nice
Rudy is a kind, authentic and passionate man, and a terrific guide! You will see parts of Acapulco you never would have seen elsewhere, and you can tell he loves and is proud of his home!
Our guide, Mario, was amazing. We had a full day of seeing all of Acapulco, with a trip thrown in to a silver store for me. He was full of knowledge, not only of Acapulco, but of Mexican and world history. We went from one end to the other, seeing the new, the old and the historic...even the cliff divers. Mario was an exceptional host to us, always taking care of the details. The market was fascinating to drive through. We both feel very privileged to have spent the day on this tour and recommend it anyone looking for a great day in Acapulco.
This was the second tour I took with Rudy and his crew. I took the City Tour two days earlier. Everyone was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Also, everyone was very relaxed and laid back, which I prefer. Everyone was bi-lingual but since I was practicing my Spanish, they accommodated me by speaking as much in Spanish as I wanted. The tour of the market was especially interesting. Alfonso bought small amounts of exotic fruit for us to sample and expertly showed us around. The insights of all the guides regarding the market were invaluable. It would have been impossible to navigate the immense, sprawling market without knowledgeable guides. We took a bonus side trip to visit the Flamingo Hotel, an old haunt of Hollywood stars like John Wayne and Johnny Weissmuller, because one of our number had missed out on going there for some reason on an earlier tour. It was a lovely detour with marvelous vistas.
This tour would be awesome for anyone that doesn't know much about Acapulco. We did this tour through "Tour by Van" (Rudy Fregoso), who was so great to work with. Due to unforeseen circumstances we were able to change our tour to a day later as Rudy wanted to be "part of the solution," we certainly appreciated that! Our tour guide was Santiago who was very knowledgeable about everywhere he took us. He was a fantastic guide that showed us all over the city, the Fort of Acapulco, the Cliff divers, along with a delicious lunch at a local restaurant where the food was awesome. This is a tour you don't want to miss out on! Tour by Van (Rudy Fregoso) and guide Santiago are the best.
Really good tour from nice guys Rudy and Poncho. Acapulco is a bit rubbish apart from the Bay but the lads did a good job of showing us the best bits at a nice pace. Good information about the place and even though we were taken to the Jewellery store for a tour it really wasn’t a problem buying some silver as it was a pretty good price without it being too much of a hard sell. Well done lads
My wife and I enjoyed this tour. Pickup was punctual and it was slightly customized to fit our needs.
We enjoyed the informative tour with Rudy of Tours by Van and his assistant Jesus. Guided through the Mercado Central we tasted local fare and appreciated the variety of fruit and vegetables available.Jesus took us through the Museo Historico de Acapulco showing us the significance of the location in the Spanish Empire and escorted us through Los Flamingos Hotel, a significant location for the Hollywood actors, spanning several decades of the 20th century. Rudy was a compendium of knowledge about the history of the area and provided informative commentary during our tour. We thank both Rudy and Jesus for job well done and highly recommend the service of Tours by Van and Rudy .
Rudy, the owner of Tours by Van, and Jesus, his assistant, were punctual in picking us up at our hotel. Throughout the day they were friendly, polite and attentive to our well-being. Rudy is very articulate in the English language. He has a vast knowledge of Acapulco history so was fabulous at answering our many questions. Jesus always made sure that we were safe during our wonderful walk through the Mercado Central de Acapulco. He accompanied us on our tour of the Acapulco Historical Museum at Fort San Diego as well as at Los Flamingos Hotel. We appreciated our drives outside the tourist routes and the sensory and tasting experience at the Central Market. As very seasoned and world travelers, we particularly loved the fact that we were immersed in the local culture. Thank you Rudy and Jesus for a day well spent. As lifelong learners, we learned a lot.
We book the 6h Tour and it was absolut fantastic. Our Guide Jose was soo nice, kind and helpful. He knows all about Acapulco. Also Rudy take care of us. We loved this tour and I say to everybody: When you are in Acapulco book your Tours with Rudy and his Team. Best Tour we have had on our world around trip. And today i get the plus from Rudy : Our Tour Pictures and a Video. That bring tears in my eyes. Thank you soooo much for this.
I cannot fault the tour provided by Rudy who took us around wonderful Acapulco where we released baby turtles, admired the beautiful peace church, stood amazed at the stunning views and looked in awe at cliff divers. Rudy also took good photographs of our day and emailed them to us. It was such a wonderful tour that I hope some day to be able to do it all again.
We had a 6 hour tour with Rudy which included, a) Diving exhibition, a table a drink and a seat with the best view, b) Baby turtle release c). Chapel of peace d). New part of Acapulco e). Old sector of the City f). Main Avenue e). City Market where the locals buy fruit vegetables, fruits, etc. It was not expensive in comparison to the Cruise ship tours. We were lucky enough that Rudy drove the 4 of us (other passengers went with another member of his team) in a great air-conditioned people carrier with plenty of room. All of the team were excellent, attentive and took photo's with our camera's as well as Rudy taking photo's with his own camera. Rudy's passion for his country shone through and it was clear that he loves his job and where he comes from. His sense of humour is wonderful and he relayed information in a way that was enlightening and memorable. After the tour Rudy sent us a link with access to photo's that he had taken and a video of the cliff divers (which he did with a drone). Totally above and beyond what we ever expected!! I could not recommend Rudy highly enough. Much better than any of the cruise tours as we had individual attention and in a much smaller group. ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT! Thank you Rudy!
I stayed in Acapulco for 4 days and decided to see the city with the help of Tour By Van booked through Viator. My tour guide Mario was punctual and very accommodating. He took me throughout the City and provided me with the history of Acapulco along with some interesting information you cannot find in your history books. I give this tour company an A+. My tour exceeded my expectations!
What a fabulous tour of the real Acapuco! We released baby turtles, experienced all levels of Mexican society, tried new fruits, saw the panoramic views of the city and shoreline, visited many special locations, saw the cliff divers and had a wonderful beachside lunch. All of this guided by the wonderful team of Rudy and Sammy. We were able to ask lots of questions and gain an insight in to the modern day Mexico. I thoroughly recommend Rudy and his team. What a way to experience all aspects of Acapulco!
My wife and I have done a great deal of traveling. We have been on a great many sight seeing tours and excursions on our travels. I can honestly say that this was by far the best service and most friendly tour we have ever taken. Rudy and Sammy both went out of their way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction with the experience. Rudy lead our tour and gave us a good history lesson of the area. Being a life long resident he can explain how things have progressed over the years from when he was young to the current situation of the city. The Chapel of Peace was a sight to behold and oh what a view. The market areas where we were able to see everyday life for the local residents. The famed cliff diving exhibition. Finally the turtle release. It says 6 hours but if felt like we had only just began as we pulled back in to the hotel. I have to say my favorite part of the tour had to be our interaction with our guides Rudy and Sammy though. Their friendly nature makes you feel like family. They were willing to answer all our questions about geography, politics, economics, and diversity of the region. THIS TOUR WAS EASILY WORTH DOUBLE THE PRICE ASKED FOR. If you visit Acapulco you should absolutely take this tour. I promise you will not regret it.

We had a lovely time. We really enjoyed it, especially the market! Highly recommended.

This particular tour was outstanding! Our guide, Rudy, was very knowledgeable about the culture and places we visited and very willing to answer all of our questions. I still cannot believe what we packed into four hours and it was not at all rushed! Tour was well-planned for visits to historical and cultural places, as well as entertainment attractions. This tour was the highlight of our trip to Acapulco!

As a history buff I just loved visiting The San Diego Fort. Built in 1616, it was intended to protect Acapulco, the main port of the western coast of Mexico, where the ship from China arrived delivering a lot of Asian goods that would cross by land to Veracruz in the Gulf of Mexico, from there to Cuba and then to Spain. It is a nice museum, pretty well kept and in the downtown of Acapulco with a good view of the bay. We also visited the municipal market was awesome, I always visit the markets wherever I go as in my opinion is the best way to get to know and learn about the country, the one of Acapulco surely not disappoint, colorful and interesting, my favorite part was the witch doctor visit. Thank you Arturo for a great day!

Our experience in Acapulco was one of the best tours weve ever had. Rudy is an excellent guide very informative and well spoken and his associate Umberto was very helpful and friendly. We learned all about the history and people of Acapulco. Our visit to the local market was the most surprising and educational part of the tour. The locals were happy to see Americans in their market where fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers were being sold along with all types of crafts and products were also being traded. The historical Fort San Diego was magnificent and maintained beautifully, the Cliff Diver show was as expected a must see daredevil event. The Diego Rivera murals are beautiful and if youre an art lover like I am this is a must see. My wife and I thought this tour was the best value weve ever had. Acapulco is better and more beautiful than we expected if youre visiting there you should definitely have Rudy and Umberto show you the town."

Rudy is the best, we received so much information and got to see things in the market that only a native Mexican could have shown us. He is so knowledgeable and kind. Rudy and his partner Santiago each had their strengths and allowed each other to convey their expertise. Such a wonderful tour.

Roger and Jose are a wealth of information and it shows the love the city where they live as much as sharing their knowledge about this city. The fort of San Diego is the home of a very nice museum we visited for no less than one hour and a half, the visit to the mural of Diego Rivera was very interesting not to mention that the diving exhibition was a treat, all in all a great excursion. Thanks Jose and Roger.

In the middle of winter a wonderful climate. the whole country frozen and we'd leave the pool without using a towel I only recommend not to stay in old Acapulco is very bad. I stayed near Papagayo Park good and cheap food in street restaurants
Very good organization, Service, explanation. An offbeat tour. Highly recommended! The visits were to very authentic places, the guides knew very well the history and evolution of the city.
Excellent tour, guided by people who know in detail the city and its historical processes, with an incredible vocation of Service, who are obviously rating the love for what they do. Enlivened with the best views of the city, the visit to representative places that tourists do not commonly access, and the delight with the smells, flavors and daily activities of the Acapulqueños. Many thanks to our guides Jesus, Santiago and Mario. Very but highly recommended.
Excellent tutor to know Acapulco, the very friendly tourist guides, with extensive knowledge about the places to know, recommended to 100
The experience was very pleasant, I was attended by Mr. Rudy and Don Pato, they were very punctual, friendly and accessible in what we asked them, they love acapulco and that they transmit. The talk is enjoyable and they explain everything super well. I recommend them!!!!
