Rudy and Alfonso were great tour guides. It was a long ride to Taxco, but they kept us entertained with interesting information about the geology, history and culture of the area. The included breakfast and lunch were delicious. Taxco is a jewel and definitely worth a day trip. Rudy and Alfonso did a great job of providing us guidance and we felt like everything was very well organized while also giving us the opportunity to spend a little bit of personal time shopping in Taxco. I would definitely recommend this tour.

The history of Taxco and the tour overall was just what we hoped for. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Lunch was delicious.
The entire trip was great. The ride there and back was interesting and informative. Rudy and Poncho know a lot about Taxco, Acapulco and Mexico in general. They were happy to share their knowledge and answered all of our questions. Our visit was between Christmas and New Year's so there were a lot of tourists. If you prefer a quiet visit, avoid holidays. We were very pleased with our visit.
6 of us had a private day trip to Taxco. We were picked up right on time and had a great drive through the scenic mountains and valleys. Enjoyed several hours exploring Taxco and a pleasant ride back. Rudy and Poncho were excellent guides and were very willing to share their knowledge and personal experiences about Mexican life with us. A great day was had by all. Would highly recommend.
An amazing adventure with great tour guides who were knowledgeable. Beautiful place to visit..A must see for anyone trying to experience Mexico.
Amazing food, spectacular views, lovely weather and an extremely knowledgeable guide made this another unforgettable tour with Mario! We have done at least four excursions with this company. Mario, Rudy and Alfonso are the best! They were professional and detail oriented. We never failed to learn new things and thoroughly enjoy ourselves as our every need was attended to. Thanks so much guys!
It’s a long car ride but worth it. The city of Taxco is very picturesque. The cathedral in the main square is beautiful. It was Interesting to learn about the mining of silver and find beautiful original designs. We enjoyed our authentic breakfast along the way and a lovely lunch at the Angel Inn overlooking the city. Bring snacks and water for the journey. Even though it’s at 5000 feet, it’s warm there.
When people think of Guerrero they think of acapulco but I saw many videos and pictures of taxco and I knew I needed to come and experience this beautiful city for my self . My husband and I had the privilege to be shown around by Rudy and Poncho who are very knowledgeable and made our drive and experience to Taxco so wonderful! If you are worried about the drive to taxco don't be they make the drive enjoyable and share grate information along the way. The church in taxco is one of a kind I had never seen something as beautiful as that church. Poncho also took us to great shopping stores and were happy with our choice to visit Taxco during our stay in Acapulco. I would recommend this trip to my family and friends
Rudy and staff are so knowledgeable of the history and culture of Acapulco. The sites to visit are exciting and are enriched the pleasant and fun personality of drivers and navigators. We have been satisfied with Rudy for several years with his tours and recommendations and suggest that you contact him personally V/S contacting a large tour company. He will offer you a personalized and satisfying tour experience. 5 stars for Rudy and company. Always happy with experiences for several years!!
We had the most amazing road trip to Taxco. Our guy Poncho was absolutely attentive informative fluent efficient in English and shared a history of Mexico beyond what we expected. Rudy the owner was attentive and following up making sure that we were OK if we needed anything… we had an amazing trip. I got to eat grasshoppers… bought handmade jewelry .. silver collected from silver mines. This company bring it. They don’t miss a beat and a bonus was they gave us pictures and a video of all of our adventures. I did several tours with this company and they delivered every time. 👌🏾
We had a very nice day with Maria I was showing us the size and transporting us back-and-forth from alcohol girl. It is a long day, and it is a long drive, but I would recommend it and say it’s well worth it
Let me just start by sayin, we are humbly grateful for the generous and very pleasant experience that Mario our tour guide has shared with us..We learned about Acapulco’s historic beginnings up to its Golden Days where Acapulco was the famous “HotSpot” for celebrities..part of the tour heading to Taxco includes passing by the majestic and towering presence of famous “Sierra Madre” mountains..in addition to surrounding ciudad of Acapulco.. If I were to simply describe our travel experience, it will be the following: - Secure and Safety - Educational and Informational - Food and Culture - Local Artisanship and Marketplace ~Calurosa Despidida Acapulco and Muchos Gracias~
Jose was an exceptional tour guide- great value for the money. Entire trip to Taxco was safe- no worries with time spent in Acapulco
The tour was really enjoyable for our group. We've learned a lot about this region of the country. Texco is an amazing place! Our tour guy was very knowledgeable, polite, and friendly. We've had a great time! Highly recommend this tour!
My name is Bruce. I was born in Amarillo, Texas. I live in San Francisco, California. I took Rudy's Tour of Taxco last year in November of 2018. I was the only passenger & Rudy agreed to have a driver take me for a little more money. WORTH IT!!! I will be in Acapulco from Janauary 3rd-19th. The most amazing thing of all was meeting MANOLO/ Jose. He and I became new friends and did other things... I hope you read this Rudy because, I want to go back to TAXCO and buy Silver Jewelry. Thanks for last year and I thank you in advance for this year. Muchos Gracious Amigo!
We did a 2nd tour with the company since we really liked the first. We went to Taxco for the day. Prompt, courteous guide/driver with a ton of info. He arranged a local guide in Taxco to fill in details. It was a lovely day.
Rudy's tour was one of a couple of tours we took while honeymooning in Acapulco. It was our favorite. We had a group of four (yeah, we honeymooned with friends) and at the end of our stay, we all discuss what our favorite aspect of the vacation was and besides our daily massage on the beach, it was the Taxco trip with Rudy and Alfonso. They are amazing! Speak English very well, funny, full of information about past and present Mexico...we just loved them. They took us to the best places with spectacular views, worked out favorable deals with street vendors, and really just showed us a very good time. We road in a very comfortable air conditioned van. I could not recommend them more highly. Thanks you two!
Guide had lots of great historical information, showed me around the cute town and help me find a particular art piece that I wanted to buy. Had a great lunch in a beautiful location.
Our Taxco trip from Acapulco was amazing. Alfonso give a us wonderful unforgettable trip. He provided a through history and visit to the city’s best photo opportunity spots. He took us to the best place to shop for silver. Alfonso was always concern for our safety and time. The trip was well worth the price and I highly recommend Rudy and Alfonso!
Excellent tour. Very Punctual pick up time. Plenty time to accommodate us at our request for breakfast, lunch or bathroom break since it is a long way on the road. Great views on the way and at Taxco City. Alfonso our driver really did an awesome job talking all the way about Acapulco and Taxco history. He even went out of his way because was not even part of the tour to take us to the top of a mountain in Taxco where there is a Hotel with great view from above that I visited 40 years ago. In the tour was included a walk thru Taxco City and we visited several silver jewelry stores, the Santa Prisca Cathedral which is a must see while in Taxco and he took us to a great restaurant (Del Angel Inn Restaurant) with an excellent view that we enjoyed while having lunch. We had another tour the next day and we even requested to have him as our driver again.
We visited Acapulco for our Soul Sisters 2019 trip. Many warned us that Acapulco was not safe. This did not deter these two seasoned travellers. My philosophy: if you go looking for trouble, you will find it. Tourism is the Guerrerense livelihood. The colonial silver mining town of Taxco was on our list to visit. We found this tour on Trip Advisor. We signed up for a group tour but the minimum number of people was not reached. We had flexibility with our schedule so the company offered a discounted private tour and we were not disappointed! Mario and his wife Elisabeth were the perfect guides and traveling companions. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible with our desired activities. I highly recommend this lovely duo. The total trip was 12 -14 hours. Taxco is 4 hours from Acapulco near the border with the State of Mexico. You stop for a traditional breakfast in Chilpancingo. Lunch is on the beautiful rooftop terrace of Del Angel Inn near the Santa Prisca de Taxco church. Enjoy the beautiful countryside on your journey to Taxco. Thank you Mario and Elisabeth for a memorable viaje!
I recently went on a private tour of Taxco with seven other friends. We left Acapulco in the dark and returned in the dark. We had the pleasure of Temo driving us and Roger as our guide. Roger is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met regarding the history of Mexico. He made our three hour drive fly by. Once in Taxco we spent some time shopping for silver and walking around this beautiful city. Lunch was overlooking the entire city. It was a lot of driving and some of our group want to return to spend a night. I would not hesitate to use Tourbyvans for another tour. Rudy runs a stellar business.
We just returned from a terrific trip to Taxco. This is worth the day trip while it is a long ride and a overnight stay is going to allow you to do/see more we accomplished all we set out to do. Both our guides Rogelio (Roger Dodger) and teamo (sp) Cuauhtemoc Rojas were terrific and very professional!! We were promptly pickup just prior to 7am for our journey and before you knew it we were rolling into Taxco just before 11am with Roger narrating the entire trip. The ride is very scenic and Taxco is a wonderful city and must be experienced. This is without question the most professional tour company in Acapulco so glad we did.
One of the best tours we have taken (and we have taken dozens all over the world) Taxco is a wonderful place to visit full of old Mexico charm and culture. With the best silver jewellery bargains I have seen. But what really made this tour was our guide and driver. It is a 3 hour trip one way from Acapulco but our guide, who spoke perfect English, kept talking and providing information about the countryside, the culture, the local people and the history of Taxco. He kept us entertained and stimulated the entire time.

I absolutely loved Taxco and the tour of Jose, our tour guide and his skillful driver Humberto! This was a small 3-person tour. I enjoyed the pick-up service from my hotel and drop off at the end of the tour. Jose has a clear English, and his enthusiasm made everything he said, sound more interesting and entertaining.

This tour was very pleasant as it was laid back, we had some free time on our own and not as rushed as other tours are. This is a lovely full day trip, I enjoyed every minute of it and enjoyed meeting an interesting and fun couple who was on the tour that day as well.
Thanks for the lovely memories!

A great experience. Kudos to Rudy of Happy Travel and his teammate Santiago. We were picked up in our hotel on time. Rudy, while smoothly driving to Taxco, gave us a clear picture of what we were going to see during the trip. The trip was for 3 hours and there were no sleepy moments as Rudy and Santiago shared all their knowledge about Taxco and Acapulco. This was a private trip and i highly recommend it as Rudy made the tour so personalized. An hour after we left Acapulco, we had breakfast. The one hour trip made us see beautiful sceneries. During this early morning trip, you will even see the clouds below you hovering over the mountains. Just a short breakfast and there we started to see again the greeneries of the mountains, the huge cactus, and the statue of President Guerrero. Funny Santiago, during the trip, would boast highly of San Dionisio fortress. Reaching Taxco after 2 hours, you will stop in a jewelry store, Their items are amazing. Then, you start walking over the cobblestone made roads. Santiago would be very protective of you as the roads are narrow and many Volkswagen Beetle taxis moves beside you. Then, you reach the zocalo, which is the downtown. Rudy brought us to Del Angel Inn Restorante. This place is fabulous. Their rooftop gives you a good view of Taxco City and they serve good food. After eating, we strolled again the streets of Taxco City but really took time to see Santa Prisca Cathedral. This church is so beautiful that it would make you thank God for helping the people who made this beautiful church. The trip is highly recommended and when you go to Acapulco, you have to inquire with Viator on how you can have Rudy of Happy Travel to give you the tour to Taxco or just a city tour of Acapulco. Rudy and Santiago are not only knowledgeable people but they also give you a sincere and honest touch of themselves during the tour. Again THANK YOU Rudy and Santiago.

Again Rudy is the best, so entertaining and knowledgeable. He knows his business! Loved the day and the time we spent with Rudy and Santiago! Highly recommend this tour.

I can only say Taxco was beautiful! George, our tuor guide was a gentleman and he was extremely knowledgeable. He explains a lot of things in the car ride to Taxco so when you get there there's very little explaining needed to be done and he just shows you the important things as you walk other wise, our walk around on your own was also fantastic, not to mention the shopping was great!!. .I could have stayed longer! What a charming city. This is the Mexico I have expected to see. Simply marvelous. Victor our guide was most gracious and knowledgeable.
