Liwa Full Day Desert Safari (Exploring)

We spent an incredibly memorable and impressive day on Wednesday, October 7, exploring the Liwa Desert. The private full-day tour was easy and straightforward to arrange from Switzerland via a live WhatsApp chat. Everything worked perfectly and exactly as agreed in writing. Compliments to the company for its excellent organization. Our driver, Basit, was extremely friendly, courteous, attentive, and considerate. He was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts and insights with us throughout the journey. He handled the modern Toyota 4x4 with great skill and professionalism. We felt completely safe at all times, even when crossing the steepest dunes. A special compliment and sincere thanks to Basit. Thanks to him, we were able to discover and enjoy the unique beauty of the Liwa Desert in complete safety and without a care in the world. We can highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Abu Dhabi.

Basih and Abdelkader were our guides in the desert, and the experience was simply incredible. Driving through the dunes was absolutely unforgettable — a real adventure that exceeded all our expectations. From the very beginning, their treatment was wonderful. They were incredibly patient, always positive, and brought such an amazing energy that made the whole experience even more special. We would do it again and again with them. We will always choose them, because we’ve done other activities with different guides before and it’s just not the same… they are on another level. This was the best experience during my last 2 years in UAE. Firstly, booking was seamless and easy. Secondly, amazing guide picked us up exactly on time in a shiny new Land Cruiser Thirdly, guide knew the desert perfectly, had amazing driving skills and showed us divine places. We had amazing lunch in the oasis, food was included and tasted excellent. Every meal was accompanied by free soft drinks and water. In the end of the day we watched sunset and were delivered to our car. I give this 6 out of 5 stars. Truly amazing experience. Thank you.

It was my first time at Abu Dhabi. To my mind if you are first time here you must visit these amazing landscapes…We booked individual tour Liwa desert safari and I think it was the best solution!! Very quite, very honestly and very comfortable! What about activities: I can’t express my emotions by words! It was fantastic day!!!! Great thanks our guide!!!

Car (Land Cruiser) was also neat and excellent condition Overall experience with Liwa adventure team was very good. Would highly recommend this trip

Loved our trip to the Liwa desert with our excellent guide Bassith who drove us around the dunes impressively, prepared a perfect barbecue and could tell is a lot about the surroundings we saw!

Me and my kids was well looked after by our guide Sanal from picking us up from our hotel till end of night making sure we were okay and getting us back safely. We had a family tour at the Liwa Desert , an half day experience with bbq dinner. Our guide Basith has been great as he was able to tailor the best experience for us even with few hrs available. He is a great guide and driver ..the dune bashing has been amazing and safe with him! And guys....the sunset on top of the dunes, the bbq dinner in the date plantation ....massive!! With so much delicious food, from meat to fish and rice , salad, salses.after dinner we had plenty of time to see the stars in the complete dark. I can tell you that this is one of the few things that is really worth to spend money for in Abu Dhabi...and Basith..such a great driver and very nice guy! Super suggested!

This is first time for me the desert safari but I'm very happy for the trip, the car comes on time for picking and the staff was very nice and helpful. Amazing ride in desert I really enjoyed, they ride in desert almost one hour and they give enough time for taking pictures. Once we reach the camp our table already reserved, in camp all the staff was nice and friendly. The Food was very nice. Belly dance and music was awesome. Very satisfied I definitely came back with my friends

This was a wonderful adventure with Bashit. Quite impressive to get out of the tracks in what looked like 'the deep desert'. Bashit is an artist in reading the dunes to get the best trajectory for riding the crests with his landcruiser. We lunched in a small oasis under the palmtrees. The person living there (he has been there for 14 years, living alone in the desert) was very welcoming and happy to share fresh dates direct from his trees. We saw camels with newborn baby and even two gazelles. A lifetime experience. Thank you Bashit!

We had an awesome private tour with our great guide Basith through the Liwa desert. He showed us breathtaking dunes and we felt always safe. We definitely recommend Liwa Advanture Tours, our trip was worth the money!

i would recomend this tour because Ibrahim was a really nice and accomodant guide. if you want to taste the esperience of the real desert you have to choose him. I've been with my brother. We stayed all the day in the desert with him and we discovered a lot of information about enviroment and history of this place. He made our tour perfect for all our needs and we pass a really good time together. if I had to choose a different kind of desert experience (like camping in the night and see all the stars) i'll definitevily choose to go with him.

I've been recommended to choose this tour by a colleague and I'll do the same with you. Me and my sister had a full day tour with Ibrahim. He's an expert guide and can teach you a lot about the environment and the history. The planning can be adaptable to your needs and desires, and Ibrahim has been very kind and accommodating guide for us. We had a nice lunch in a palm trees garden, practice some sandboard in the afternoon and enjoy the sunset. If you want to experience the "real" desert with amazing landscapes, far from the most touristic spots, you should definitely choose this tour.

I visited liwa in december 2019 which I believe is the best time to visit with an expert on liwa named Ibrahim,whom I will recommend to go with.It was an awesone experience going through the desert having one of the largest sand dunes and above all dune bashing on them has made it a memorable trip. Glimpsing through the scenic beauties of desert along with the evening sunset,a lunch in an oasis in middle of desert and side by side listening about the where abouts of arabic culture with an expert makes it even more beautiful and adventurous.My whole was spent well.

The private tour to the Rub Al-Khali desert with our guide Pasha was a great experience and exceeded our expectations! We were picked up at the hotel in Abu Dhabi and drove about 2h to Liwa. In Liwa, the desert tour started and ended in the Moreeb Dune, where we could still admire the Liwa Festival and the sunset in the desert. Afterwards we were taken back to our hotel. All in all a recommended tour!

We trusted Liwa adventure for our Safari day, and no regrets. Our two guides Basith and Shahab did their utmost to make this day pleasant, the sandboarding experience was very funny. The sunset was just beautiful, great views in the desert with the oases.

An unforgettable experience in the Abu Dhabi desert! We did a full-day desert safari with Bashit today – and it was just fantastic! Even the start at 9 o'clock with the pickup at the hotel went smoothly. Afterwards we went straight to the desert, where we were able to experience a beautiful and at the same time adventurous ride through the dunes. A special highlight was the stop in the middle of the desert on a small farm where we could enjoy a delicious lunch in the shade. The tranquillity and vastness there were simply magical – a moment you won’t forget. Then we visited a camel farm and the highest sign in the world in the Liwa Oasis. It was not a typical tourist tour, but a very personal experience. We were all to ourselves, far and wide no one else could be seen – that really made the tour special. There were many great photos taken of us, and also drinks and toilets were provided at all times. Our driver Bashit was super friendly, told us a lot about the region and made the tour perfect with his likeable nature. I can absolutely recommend this safari to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable experience in the desert! 🌵🐪✨

The Liwa Desert was very beautiful. The dunes were big and Dune-bashing was very exciting. And the driver, Mr Basith, was very kind. During the tour, the driver happened to meet the camel ranch owner whom he knew, was treated to dates and coffee, and even got a coffee bean souvenir, which was a very valuable experience. I hope you all enjoy this amazing experience.

Great experience! The driver told us all kinds of things and explained everything well. And the driver took super nice photos. The food was delicious in the oasis and the sandboarding was a lot of fun! Highly recommended!

Had a great day today! We were picked up from our hotel on time and were kept well informed where he was driving. There were two of us and Basith told us all about the area! Very friendly driver. First he took us to a Camel farm where he photographed us perfectly with the camels. Basith took very nice pictures of us. Then we really went through the desert through the dunes. So cool and so beautiful. Basith took us to lunch where we had a very nice meal in a beautiful place. After the meal we went sandboarding where Basith took beautiful pictures again. This tour was simply great! Basith, the super friendly guide, took us into the desert, where we did a lot of dune bashing. Wow! We then visited a palm oasis and a camel farm with very friendly animals. We then went to a fort and the camel race track - also an experience. The crowning finale was a great sunset. We can recommend this tour without reservation, because it gave us an unforgettable day and we got to know a lovely person in Basith. Thank you very much! (Toby)

We were picked up from the hotel in the morning by our friendly guide Basith and off we went in a 4X4. After a good 1.5 hours we reached the desert, where we first had to let the air out of the tires before heading into the amazing dune landscape with its endless colors and shapes. There was something different to marvel at behind every dune. And we also tested the capabilities of the Landcruiser extensively 😉. Afterwards we had a delicious lunch in a palm grove. After that we drove to a camel farm, where we immediately made friends with the beautiful and trusting animals 😉. After leaving the desert we continued to Fort Nimail and then to the 15km long camel race track, where we were able to watch some of the animals and their owners training. The crowning glory was a beautiful sunset before we arrived back at the hotel, tired but happy. We thank Liwa Adventures and especially Basith for this great and interesting tour, which he made something unforgettable for us with his cheerful and friendly manner. Shkran!!! (Daniela)

As on our first visit to Abu Dhabi, our guide Basith gave us an unforgettable day in the desert: First of all, I would like to mention that Basith is a very pleasant person who makes it easy to trust him - which seems to me not to be unimportant in the desert. He also speaks a very understandable English, which is not quite a given. I found our picnic in this small oasis in the middle of the desert, an almost enchanted place, particularly beautiful. Afterwards we paid a visit to the camel racetrack to attend the training. And the camels that ran into us by accident, so to speak, were my very own personal icing on the cake! Regarding my next visit to Abu Dhabi, which I am already dreaming of, I am already looking forward to my third desert trip with Basith!!!
