Full Day Liwa Desert Sunset Safari Tour / Picnic Dinner At Oasis

Had an absolutely fantastic desert safari experience in Liwa! The scenery was incredibly beautiful - the Liwa dunes are so tall and truly majestic. Our guide Rafi was amazing. Not only is he a highly skilled driver who expertly took us dune bashing, but he also helped us take photos and even taught us some fun posing tips. Watching the sunset at the end of the trip was the perfect, breathtaking finale. Everything was wonderful and absolutely worth the 2.5-hour drive. Highly recommended!

Leaving at lunch time we drove for 2 hours or so towards Liwa Oasis, and after having the pressure on the tyres reduced we hit the dunes in Empty Quarter… and that’s when the fun and adventure really started. Our driver and guide Mohammed, excelled in his driving skills up,down and around the huge dunes. And no one else in sight as we spent the late afternoon until sunset driving around the deserts. Absolutely awesome, Mohammed always ensuring that safety comes first whenever we paused to walk around and take photos of the views. We were up there until sunset and then headed to a small oasis where a delicious and tasty dinner was prepared for us. It’s a long day out but truly worthwhile.

We had an absolutely amazing experience exploring the Liwa Desert with our guide, Shafeeeq. From start to finish, he went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. His friendly nature and deep knowledge of the desert made the journey both exciting and memorable. What really stood out was how attentive he was—he constantly checked in to make sure we were safe and comfortable in the jeep, and he took so much effort to make the ride smooth and enjoyable. On top of that, Shafeeeq turned out to be a fantastic photographer! He captured incredible pictures of us against the golden dunes—moments we’ll treasure forever. If you’re planning a Liwa desert tour, we can’t recommend Shafeeeq enough. His professionalism, warmth, and genuine care for his guests make the experience truly unforgettable.

Salim and Faisal hosted us wonderfully. They are excellent guides — driving safely, making jokes, taking beautiful photos and videos for us, and preparing a marvellous dinner and tea. From start to finish, this tour was exceptional. My driver and guide, Mohammed, was absolutely brilliant. He was punctual, knowledgeable, and full of insights about the region. The journey down to Liwa took over two hours, but the time flew by thanks to Mohammed’s commentary and the incredible desert scenery. Along the way, we saw camels, gazelles, desert rats, and even lizards darting through the sand. What really stood out for me was hearing the sound of the sand as we descended steep dunes in the 4x4. It was like a deep bass reverberation, almost like a plane overhead. I had never experienced anything like it before. We stopped at a date farm, which was genuinely fascinating, and the food served there was top notch. Authentic, fresh, and full of flavour. The sunset from the top of a massive dune was nothing short of spectacular. And just when I thought it could not get any better, the moon rose over the desert and we hiked up another dune to take it all in from a different perspective. Seeing the desert under moonlight was surreal. Peaceful, silent, and absolutely stunning. If you are in Abu Dhabi, do not even think twice. This is a must do tour. Highly recommended.

An unforgetable first visit to a desert. I got to experience it intimately and feel its vast quietness. The Empty Quarter is not that empty; full of changing landscapes, gazelles stirring up sand clouds, tranquil oases, camel farms… Mohammed is a thoughtful guide and he is incredibly generous with his knowledge, time, and skills. Thank you for a truly amazing adventure!

The best desert tour I‘ve ever been on. The journey takes a good two hours, but what follows makes up for everthing! With a few stops along the way, we then headed into the Rub Al Khali Desert. Deeply impressed by the high dunes and extremely fine sand, we drove up and down through the desert. He will also drive over smaller dunes and at a slower pace, if requested. Afterwards, we went to one of the Liwa Oases, where we had a barbecue in the shade of the palm trees as dusk began to fall. An impressiv landscape with camels, antelopes and birds. Even though four hours is a long way, it is worth it, and our Guide Mohammed was very friendly and told us a lot about the Landscape.

The tour is amazing! In one word perfect. I was looking for a non commercial and classical tour. And this is it! Is 2 hours and half driving from Abu Dhabi but in this way you experience the real desert! And above all we were me my husband and just an American girl in a solo travel. Mohammed, was a great driver and guide! Also he took us beautiful pictures and videos! And the food he has prepared for us was delicious! Best babaganush ever eaten! I super recommend this tour! The American girl was the fifth time doing this tour, because she loved it.

The tour is just amazing! Not the usual tour in the desert. Is something really special! With this tour you experience the real desert! And our guide Mohammed was super in everything. He is also a great photographer and video maker! But first of all a great driver! And last but not least the food was so delicious! Best babaganush ever eaten! Visiting the Liwa Oasis and the surrounding desert is a must if you are in Abu Dhabi. The drive through the dunes was incredible. Mohammed is an extremely skilled driver and knows exactly what he is doing. He has lots of knowledge about the desert and can tell you the most interesting stories. The food was amazing and the level of service top notch. If the Empty Quarter calls your name, go have a look for yourself!

I have been to various deserts several times, but Al-Rub' al-Khali is exeptional. The dunes are magnificent. Our guide was a real master desert driver, and apart from it, or above all, a very sympathetic man. Feeding the camels at the camel farm is a nice experience for kids and teens, and the lunch at the oasis is not only tasty but relaxing. The sunset and the night climb on the top of a dune was unforgetable. Definately a must do in Abu Dhabi!

Absolutely amazing !! A wonderful experience. Mohammed could not have been a better guide. Nothing was too much trouble and he showed our family of 5 this magical place. We camped under the stars and he cooked us an amazing BBQ. His off road skills are quite incredible.

The tour was just amazing. The guide, Mohammed, was not only a great tour guide, but also a great driver and a photographer. We enjoyed the breathtaking views of desert, got some nice photos and videos, had fun thrilling drive, and ended the day with nicely cooked dinner and star gazing. One thing I'm disappointed is that I have my pictures/videos taken by him, which I trusted to receive later on. Unfortunately a week past by, although I contacted them again, none of those memories reached to me. Since it is one of the once in a lifetime moment, I strongly suggest you to use your own phone to take photos so that you can be sure you have those memories in your hand Other than that, everything is great and if you are looking for a tour which offers true desert experience, this is the one to take.

So happy to be able to join this tour! Liwa desert is quite different from Dubai desert. Its characteristic red colour and vast expanse of dunes, which were breathtakingly beautiful…I do believe it was definitely right choice to join this tour! You guys were great/funny guides! We had so much fun❤️ I wonder how can you drive in trackless desert…Such a pro!

We have had a great day in Liwa desert. Mohammed, our guide is very good. Fantastic driving skills over sand dunes. He took very nice photos and videos of us. We thoroughly enjoyed the sunset in desert and nice dinner in oasis.

One of the best tours I’ve ever joined! The view was just spectacular and I felt like I was on the another planet. Mohammed is a knowledgeable driver and great photographer. I will recommend this tour someone likes adventures and can’t be satisfied with typical sightseeing places. It’s worth going and you will never regret. I will definitely join his tour again when I come back to Abu Dhabi next time, hopefully sometime soon!

We had a 14hrs layover in Abu Dhabi, and what we thought would become a waiting torture was turned into a mini Holiday worth way more than what we paid. Who ever read this review, don't search longer and book the tour.

That has to be the first trip you need to do if you are ever in Abu Dhabi. We had a 14h overlay and tool take trip. 10/10 experience which is totaly worth the money. Our Driver was super friendly :D

"I had an amazing experience on the abudhbai desert safari with aladdin adventure! The dune bashing was exhilarating, and the views of the desert were breathtaking. Riding camels and trying out sandboarding were also highlights of the trip. The evening at the desert camp was magical, with a delicious barbecue dinner and traditional entertainment like belly dancing and fire shows. An absolutely impressive, exciting and fun tour. Jeep ride through the desert across the dunes in total solitude was spectacular. Our guide Ahmed drove us safely through the magnificent desert landscape at all times and made the experience a unique experience with his tour guide. Staying in the small secluded oasis with fantastic food was wonderful and the subsequent sunset breathtaking. The ride went back over the sandy slope in the dark, even at any time with a safe feeling. The experience was unique and completely private. NO ONE else was on the road except our own vehicle. That was GREAT

Yesterday's tour to the Liwa Desert was simply spectacular and an absolutely unforgettable experience. The day was full of special impressions – from the stunning scenery to the breathtaking drive through the dunes, which was definitely a highlight. Our guides were incredibly friendly, professional and accompanied us safely and with a lot of experience through the desert. You felt in good hands at all times. The food was also excellent and completed the day perfectly. Overall, an all-round perfect day that we would do again at any time. Highly recommended!

A really great experience! You should definitely have experienced! Nature at its most beautiful. We were picked up very conveniently directly from the hotel by two drivers at about 1:30 p.m., and were able to have very pleasant conversations and learn some about the country and culture during the drive. After about 2.5h we started the wonderful dune ride. Completely safe, it offers an unforgettable adventure feeling! The red sand is just a miracle. We could even spot gazelles, saw camels on the way, made an occasional stop to whizz down the dunes on a board and enjoy the sunset. Really beautiful. In the evening then in the oasis there was a really very generous wonderful food, where you were also asked what you like and was freshly shopped accordingly. Wonderful palate with very pleasant accompaniment, cosmopolitan, multicultural and very hospitable. At the end I was able to climb a dune under a clear starry sky, just great! Nature likes to show itself to those who love it. In the end we were again comfortably dropped off at the hotel and were thus about 23:30 at home. I would like to thank my drivers for this unforgettable experience! Value for money great, gladly again!

After emotions, make way for delicacy with a good picnic prepared by our host and finally to cap off this sublime day a sunset served with a delicious tea to amaze all our senses. And as a bonus we had the chance to see a gazelle by night on the way home. Mohamed was perfect during that day! He was a very good guide and a very good pilot in this desert having offered us incredible landscapes! The meal was great too. I strongly recommend this activity.

Authentic desert experience, different from the usual excursions for tourists. We had booked for the two of us and thought we were with other people instead it was basically a private tour. You really taste the essence of the desert and being small in the middle of nowhere and the immensity of the fourth void. (Years before we had done desert Safari in Dubai that cost half this but you found yourself in the desert sharing with other equivalent excursions and so many other people, making the dunes like dozens of other jeeps around and queuing up to take pictures on the camel.) Here instead it is a real private tour and if you want also customized to your needs ! (For example on the way back we were stopped to see the fort of liwa which was not in the program but we had asked for it.) After tours with the land rover on the dunes and sand boarding they left us totally alone to watch the sunset and nightfall. Then they came to pick us up to make us have a typical dinner at a nearby oasis, even there ‘they left us completely alone. The times were also very dilated compared to the schedule (perhaps even too much because at one point it was hard not to go to the bathroom until the car grill of the return trip). The two guys are very nice and friendly guides and also skilled photographers and video makers! If you're lucky you can see gazelles like us. The destination of Liwa is very far from Abu Dhabi (about 2 hours) but it is worth it!
